It's from Daikatana's soundtrack. I had the game installed and found it in the music folder. It's called "E1A" though it's not really played in the first level.
I'm on Windows 10 LTSC which I think doesn't have that and also I'm just more comfortable with using Virtual Machines because if I mess something up I can delete the whole vm. Also as you can see, with the vm I can control how many resources are allocated. If I don't want my whole PC dedicated to a task it's much easier to divide up resources like that.

why not use the linux subsystem?
