Using flexible jumper wires to repair broken circuit boards

  • I've demonstrated in other videos how relatively stiff, bare wire (such as the clipped off legs from electrical components, or at least that is what I set by for that purpose) can be soldered onto lifted tracks on printed circuit boards - that approach can be especially useful where a PCB has cracked or broken completely since that style of repair adds structural strength.
    There will be times however where flexibility of the joint is more important or - as in the case demonstrated in this video - there is no "as- the-crow-flies" path between the two points you with the reconnect: in those situations making a shielded jumper connection is the best approach.
