Honestly, I think you're wrong about the inclusion of Live and Learn not fitting tonally. The Japanese dub of Sonic X put in a short version in the scene where Sonic and Shadow were trying to stop the ARK, and it didn't kill the mood.

I was gonna say something similar but I think that actually helps the case. It's a good song and anime movie or shows can include stuff like that but having the full lyrical version play would just be distracting or tonally odd. I think an epic almost Reach for the Stars / Endless Possibilities orchestral scored song could be a very good compromise though.
I do think we won't get Live and Learn straight up in the actual main scene, but an orchestral riff with either the full song or a cover in the credits? I think that's probably what we'll see.

If some of the iconic music pieces from Sonic Adventure 2 don't get into this movie, that would be an ABSURD waste of potential. Live and Learn is a really really good song objectively speaking, and it resonates with a ton of people! Have you seen live reactions of "I'm Electro" by Hans Zimmer playing in No Way Home? I alongside MANY other people went BANANAS over it, and it was only featured for a few seconds! Genuinely speaking, one of my biggest complaints about the past two Sonic movies is that the games and their honestly FANTASTIC songs are treated as easter eggs to spot, and not as genuine parts of the score when it could work so well! I dunno, maybe it's because I actually do have a degree in music that I'm so amped up and passionate about this subject, but I would be both surprised and honestly mad if they included hardly anything from the game's OST! It's got amazing tonality all throughout!! 😊
what are you talking about? Live and Learn IS a emotional song, it represents the themes of SA2 and it hits hard as a hype and emotional segment. I cry with SA2's ending, and Live and Learn does play a role on that, it would fit well in the movie, even if it's not being the original version, an orchestral one could work too.

We didn't know Knuckles was going to be in movie 2, until he leaked. The entire marketing for the movie before the leaks was solely on Tails, which wasn't spoiling anything as he was in the post credits of the first thing. Same thing with Shadow as to why the marketing is all about him right now. but we never got an official announcement of Knuckles being in the film until the trailer came out and Idris Elba announced that he was voicing knuckles. So with this trend of the movies being willing to hide characters from fans during production, as well as only revealing them along side their voice actors, whose to say we will get Rouge, she is in this move and they're just hiding her AND her voice actor until later. Rouge is a decently sized name in the Sonic franchise so they wouldn't just tell us her voice actor without revealing the character. They always announce the character first, and either the voice actor later or at the same time.
TL;DR - it's not confirmed right now, but another sonic character can still happen and is probably likely.

No one, not a single soul is expecting live and learn to play during marias death or a dialogue between characters explaining why shadow is so angry. It would play as bgm for an action scene.
Why would you assume the dumbest route possible? Im not going to say that the team at Paramount is perfect, but they've done a fairly good job so far and I don't think they would be tone deaf enough to do what you said.
This is an SA2 x Shadow movie there will be plenty of action scenes where it can be in the background. Saying it doesn't fit the tone implies you think it was ill fitting in SA2 since the stories are going to be essentially the same, so I ask how is it ill fitting in the context that it WAS used?(the super transformation and fight against the final hazard/ credits)

I agree. What you said makes a good amount of sense about that awsome song. Even my own mother suspects that Live and learn will likely be used in the final battle scene, and that that studio would NOT be stupid about this and play it at a different/wrong time in that movie.

Dude In what way is Live and Learn a "silly song," I love your content man, but this is a bad take. Nothing about the lyrics comes off as silly or goofy, it has finale energy and could be used for the final fight, I could still see them using an orchestral rendition though; however, I would not prefer it.

I think there should be at least ONE more new anthro character in Sonic 3 other than Shadow, preferably a female anthro character like Amy or Rouge or both of them and I say this as someone who is not woke at all and loves female anthro characters like Amy and Rouge not because they are female characters but because they are good characters (and yes, I already know that Shadow was technically introduced in Sonic 2). I am getting annoyed by how these live-action Sonic films seem like they're just films with Sonic in them instead of actual Sonic films with the iconic elements and characters of the Sonic franchise that make Sonic, well, Sonic. It was a mistake for these films to go with the 'Sonic is an alien from another planet called Mobius' angle instead of having Sonic come from an alternate version of Earth where humans and anthros have lived together all along (like in the original Japanese version of the games). But at least Maria apparently hasn't been raceswapped to be black. Gotta give credit where credit is due I guess, but the standards for literally everything have been decreasing for quite a while now.

It’s hard to put into words how abysmally wrong you are about how playing Live and Learn during the movie not being a great idea. It IS awesome. It DOES fit with those events. It’s DOES emotionally affect the people who are actual fans of the games and the song. How you could’ve thought this was a solid opinion is beyond me
We never got the iconic Sonic music in these movies. Bits and pieces yes, but not enough. If we missed it in the third film, then expect an angry riot forming.
Sonic fans are going to riot over the Amy not being in the film not some goofy out of tone song that will conflict with the heartbreaking tension of Shadow’s redemption.

I very much disagree about the idea that we won't get any other "anthro" Sonic characters in this game. I do think we will indeed be getting Rouge, and they're probably not announcing the VA roles until later. Rouge is far more necessary than Amy because they need to seek out the Chaos Emeralds.
Amy, I agree, I kinda doubt she'll appear... unless they rewrite her story in a way that makes sense. Which isn't impossible; they completely rewrote the echidna lore.
As for Live and Learn, I think there will be a cover in the credits by a big name band as well as an orchestral version in the film itself during the climatic scene.
Neither Amy or Rouge are necessary. This is NOT SA2 the movie so people should stop expecting it to be your only setting yourselves up for disappointment. The movie will be inspired by SA2 & borrow “elements” and that’s it.
Disappointing news. There really isn't going to be a better time to introduce Rouge then Sonic 3. She serves a important role to Shadow's character, and would give Knuckles a clear role in the movie while Sonic is fighting Shadow.
Amy can be (and should be) saved for later. So she can have a story that has enough time for her. Rouge's jobs as a treasure hunter and a spy makes it easy to give her motivation to be on earth and not need to flesh out a lot about her personally.
If Rouge doesn't show up in that rumored Shadow spin off at the latest, then I don't see her getting a chance at all.
Another thing I think that krysten Ritter won’t interact with shadow. Shadow has already a big part that he will have to interact with eggman, his flashbacks and with sonic

Rouge should be in movie 3 because of her role in SA2. Also movie 2 gave us 2 new animal characters so it’d be downgrade if we only got 1 this time around.
I do still hope Amy could be in the movie, despite the movie being its own thing and not exactly needing her per se, but I do think she could play some significant role in the movie. Maybe a supporting character role, idk. But I will be okay if she doesn't appear in the movie. Yes a little disappointed but I won't be overly upset.

She's kind of a dead character honestly. But if Amy doesn't appear in the third movie, she could appear in a potential fourth movie if the third does well.

Live your life and learn from it. to me that is what the song talks about. it is one of my fav songs except for Endless Possibilities or Even Undefeatable. i listen to them to get motivation at times.

I don’t mind Krysten Ritter playing a human character and it doesn’t hinder my excitement for her being in the movie at all, she’s a fantastic actress and I think she could still have a pretty big and interesting role in the story, with her playing a G.U.N captain

If this isn't suposed to be "Sonic Adventure 2 the movie" they should probably stop advertising like it is by using the title theme and logo and releasing the movie in the Sonic Adventure 2 anniversary. That sets a level of expectations.

You're SOO right about many people wanting Live and learn to be in that movie (I'm one of those people). I've read over 1000 replies to 1 comment about that song and every person was talking about how strongly they want this to happen and about how totally upset and straight out infuriated they would be if it isn't in that Sonic 3 movie. In 1 of those replies some person said that it would be one of the biggest missed oportunties in movie history, and another person said that he, or she would likely never watch any future movie that that studio would be releasing if that song isn't in this upcoming one!

Rouge's looks have nothing to do with it. She servers a more important role for Shadow, and gives Knuckles a clear side plot.
When it comes to a Shadow based story Amy is less important. She should be saved for her own film.
I personally think that Shadow being the only new Sonic charcater is for the best. Adding too many characters in the movie can be very damaging, for it might make some character shallow and with no important roll in the story.
I think that Gun and the human characters are going to play a larger role especially if a lot of elements from Shadow 2005 are incorporated into the movie. Shadow requires so much backstory that it gets to crowded if you add Amy or Rouge. As for Live And Learn that would be really cool if it is in Sonic The Hedgehog 3.

Movie Amy would provide a comedic ending, as she chases Movie Sonic around, as for Movie Rouge or Shikaka the Great White Bat, she's basically in a similar role that Tails has for Sonic.

The Mario movie was a huge victim of using licensed music in the wrong way. So far, on the rare occasions that the Sonic movies used licensed music, it was never in an awkward way. I completely agree with you, SpeedSuperSonic, on that they will not use the original version of Live and Learn in the movie, unless the first time Sonic and Shadow fight is next to a rock festival or something, and the band there (Crush 40 or not) is playing Live and Learn. And even though there are several Sonic songs that I would prefer over Live and Learn, I can't deny how awesome it is, and it's not as bad as you made it out to be

I have to disagree with what you're saying just because they revealed one actor is playing an onscreen human character doesn't mean we won't see any other new Sonic characters the director and actors are being VERY SECRETIVE about the movie so that they won't spoil it

Nothing is confirmed yet about Shadow being the only new Sonic character in Sonic Movie 3 so I wouldn't jump to conclusions saying that Amy or Rogue won't make an appearance. Just because they don't tell us all the info on characters or voice actors doesn't mean it won't happen. Besides we still have a whole year ahead of us so they're not just gonna tell us everything in the first few months.
Edit: Are you seriously calling Live and Learn corny and silly? that is the worst take ever and the fact you said "it's not actually a good song" is just baffling. Any Sonic fan knows that Live and Learn is one of the best songs in the franchise.

I know you heard this a lot from the rest of the comments, and I understand part of it is just your opinion, but your take on the "seriousness" of Live and Lean is just a bad take. I understand most of us disagreeing are sonic fans and fans of the song, however, this is a sonic movie after all, and one that is supposed to be a love letter to the fans. Not having more than a little orchestra for the trailer would be a huge mistake on their end. It would disappoint fans and it would actually take away the very tone you mention. Not gonna lie, I'm really disappointed Krysten isn't playing Rouge and that we're likely not getting Amy or just any actual Sonic character at this point. To be honest, my biggest problem with the Sonic movies is that there are too many "important" human characters (A.K.A. Tom, Wade, Maddie, Maddie's sister and niece.) and nowhere near enough Sonic characters. In my opinion, if you're gonna make a Sonic movie then make a Sonic movie not what at the moment feels more like Alvin and the Chipmunks than Sonic. Don't get me wrong, I love the Sonic movies and I'm beyond excited for Sonic 3 but it's the 3rd movie and we only have 5 actual Sonic characters. I don't want to compare but the Mario movie wasn't afraid to jump in the deep end of the pool with his 1st movie whereas Sonic is on his 3rd and still doesn't even want to get his toes wet.

Maybe it's because the Sonic movies use cgi, while the Mario movie is animated, even the Mario movie couldn't encompass all of Mario's lore, so some things felt rushed

I think live and learn will be in the movie, but not the crush 40 version, but I do think there will be lyrics. And that song isn’t silly 😂. I’ve always taken that song seriously. And if SA2 is truly as popular as it is then it will be emotional for people to hear that song, because it would hold a place close to their heart for when they first played the game.
Live and Learn being the final battle music would be a fantastic choice, what are you smoking!? Ruin the mood of the movie? It's a kids' film, why would they not enjoy it's hype as much as we did?
One thing I really don't like is that in most movies, that music that's not performed by some sort of ensemble is seen as not suitable for the tone, which I thoroughly disagree with. The main thing that prevents a song from fitting a scene (regardless of medium) is execution and build-up. Also, if it can fit in a game or show, it can fit in a movie.

I agree that Live and learn will always be fire and that the modern day people who will find out about that song by listening to in in the third Sonic movie will very likey become it's newest fan base. I also agree that it is possible that the og version could be playing in the credits and that they would use an orchestrational version during the climax.

I understand what you meant by Live and Learn not fitting, but the thing is I don't think they're going to put in the original Live and Learn.
I agree that putting in the original Live and Learn might be a little bit odd for a movie climax. But if they put in a remixed version, that's more emotional, it can work perfectly.
I feel that if the movie is going to be good we need to have Rouge in it.
I mean think about SA2 Shadow but without him saving Rouge from the exploding island, Shadow would look too much like a Villian without that moment.
With Amy however, i fully believe that she would be a completely unnecessary add on, the only thing she really does in SA2 was talk to Shadow at the end and that was it, she could easily be replaced with someone else like Tom Mattie or possibly Tails

also like lowkey as someone who has composed some music of my own, by no means is live and learn a bad song, you can say you dislike it. but composition wise and production wise, the song is way above average when it comes to music, whether it's your thing or not is totally fine and i get your point, but calling it bad music will get a lot of ppl angry, me personally i'm not mad but i do think you could have worded it better bcs i'm sure this is gonna get a ton of ppl angry with you in the comments

If this movie is just "Sonic Adventure 2 The Movie," at the end (if Shadow doesn't die), they should do friendly battles with each other kind of like a nod to SA2 Battle.

Even if we don’t see both Amy and Rouge in Sonic Movie 3, it’ll give the writing team a perfect opportunity to have a more depth of story of Shadows and Tails’s character.

Idk man the zoomer music at the end of your videos are just as corny as Crush 40. The Shrek movies come to mind as great examples of integrating pre existing vocal pieces into a film soundtrack for a climactic moment.
Streak movies aren't really great examples since their first and foremost comedies.
