Why go to Thailand, they barely speak English, communication will be tricky. Go to Phil's. Almost everyone speaks English, but too many hustlers. It's very difficult trust anyone, especially in the city.

Watch Marawi siege. Avoid Cotabato, Jolo, Sulu, Marawi. Muslim Filipinos are good but they are infiltrated by Isis. Safer are islands in the Visayas and Provinces in Luzon. But of course just use your senses.
There's also NPA (Communist Rebels) in some islands but they are against the government not the tourist.

@@tonysouthdakotaha8728 You're so unfair. Why is your country safe? No scammers and criminals? As of these days almost all places in all Regions in the Philippines are safe. Our President managed to wipe out almost all the drug addicts and drug lords and put them in prison and in the Rehabilitation center. We're happy to inform you that Tourists here are safe and protected by the people themselves .

Wow! So far your channel is the most accurate budget wise. I'm taking my kids and her friends to Palawan in January. You gave me a good idea on how to budget. I'm a Pinoy Mom never been to Palawan and never been across the island I see in Panay but they keep annoying me. They probably see your video. I only take my kids to the mountain and farm in my hometown. They always tell me I live in the 1800's.😃
They did not know I just want them to see realities.
Life is not All a bed of Roses. I took them to the ricefields where we used to tend to send us to school and the roosters and pigs in our house. Great experience. I told them you all gonna go back to college there. They told me they will die...no hot water and majority no airconditions.
Thanks for your video and good luck and be safe in your next venture.

Sawadi, krap. Very nice video, Divert Living. Thank you so much for taking the time to combine these footages, and put up almost every single cost charged for accommodations, meals, snacks, and commute. They'll most definitely help much for the planned backpacker/tourist when travelling for the Philippines - and help boost tourism. Hope you could then see more of Luzon, next time around. The Banaue Rice Terraces in Ifugao Province and Taal Volcano, Tagaytay (and dine at "The Bag of Beans" while in Tagaytay) are Must - Sees. And then, if you still can, after all that, fly to Surigao and check out Siargao. Take care. Mabuhay!!! :)

Hi, I lived and worked in Boracay for about a year and its not that expensive. Comparing the costs of your travels to Palawan, especially in El Nido, theres a big difference to the prices. Boracay is really cheaper than Palawan; that's what all my foreigner friends tell me who have been to both places as well and as a Filipino, I was really suprised that there is truth about it too. :)

We didn't get to Coron, but the El Nido part showed us some familiar sights from when we were there in December 2012. And El Nido is not the 2nd most expensive place in the Philippines. That distinction definitely belongs to Alona Beach/Panglao Island area.

Wow I had no idea the Philippines was so gorgeous most of the videos that I see does not show this type of view they show the poverty side of the Philippines and the cost of what you guys were paying for food and hotel for 3 nights was ridiculous cheap I'm planning on going my vacation and I was going to go to Mexico but now I'm going to do my homework and see what the Philippines have to offer and hopefully and I'm pretty sure that's where me and my wife were going to go to the Philippines in July of this year I'm going to see when is the best time and how the weather is in July over there I may have to change the date of my vacation but it's nice I love the view you guys did an awesome video thumbs-up I love it thank you for sharing it and hopefully me and my wife would visit the Philippines this year if I can convince her which I don't think I'll have a hard time doing that we did have plans to go see her mother so that may play a role in that's not going this year but I do have six weeks total so I can request another vacation for two or three weeks before July or after July right after our trip to Mexico either way I want to go but I think my wife will want to go see her mother first and which I don't blame her and I'm not going to keep her from doing that but we will plan it and I'm sure how busy is the Philippines hopefully this year or for sure without a doubt next year and I'm going to save my other four weeks of vacation and run them over to next year and I'll have 10 weeks total vacation I'll work a bunch of overtime and have enough I'm more than enough to spend over there but like me I'm the type of person that like to buy a lot of stuff and bring them back as memories of places that we visit so I like shopping and so does my wife but for sure at the very least 10 grand is in the budget for sure

Philippines needs more tourists. Currently the people of the Philippines still give tourists the cold hard stare regardless if you are Caucasian, Japanese, Indian or Chinese. This behaviour stems from the fact the very few tourists actually stopover here compared to Bali, Thailand and Malaysia. Need better infrastructure and facilities, especially in Manila in order to attract tourists into this country. You have the beautiful beaches, nice rivers and hills. Just need better promotion and facilities support.

I'll be taking a business trip to Manila soon. When I have an off-week, I hope to visit Coron or El Nido. Thanks for the rundown! I see that people here are stating that you may have overpaid but this provides a realistic expectation for an inexperienced tourist like myself. In any case, I will be visiting their home and helping support their livelihood.

try to check panay island. Isla gigantes is also famous out there. Hot bath in a pot at Tibiao, Antique. Malumpati resort, and so many tourist spots in Antique.. also you can try to taste one of many delicacies in Iloilo city and their culture. Month of january is best within the city 'coz of so called "dinagyang festival" after that, you can visit the famous beach of Boracay, unfortunately, it is still closed due to cleaning of the place. well, i think it will be open soon this year.

Wish my wife and I could come with you. We have not been there since 2013. Alot is changing there. Many people see them as third world. But the Philippines is steadily growing in many ways. I would never want to see it as developed as a western 1st world place. It would strip all the beauty from it. And would surely never want to see filipino adopt western atittude. The first thing thing tgat makes their country beautiful is the people. The nature is secondary. Its incredible to be around people that celebrate life. They have a knack to finding the simplest things to be thankful for and celebrate them. Their happiness is contagious and you can't help but absorb it. I have been there 8 times. My wife is pinoy. It warms my heart to see how much you guys enjoyed being there. Never been to Thailand, but it looks very nice. Keep on traveling and vlogging.
