      Well within the first few minutes their boosting and not losing speed until they actually decide to slow down. You know an object in motion stays on motion and all that given that theirs no gravity. Their also traveling between POI's in real time by boosting to them as opposed to just fast traveling to and from.
      Looks like there are also jump gates as well which is a neat feature which allows the use of fast travel without opening the menu.

      @@sanparuzu That's a major part of it, for sure. It is inherently a simulation. Up to 16384 ships/stations simulate regardless of what the player is doing. They will move freight, fight battles, act as a diplomat, commit piracy, smuggle contraband, taxi passengers, produce goods, etc. The player is a participant (or not).

      @@wolfpaw-yz9fk StarSim adds a complete space simulation. Like settlements in Fallout 4, its a complete game mode of sorts where you could play in space without ever stepping foot on a planet. Being a freighter, piracy, running a corporation, building a fleet, etc. It complements Starfield by using gates to allow travel between all planets/moons with unique content limiting fast travel/load screens/menus. And quite a bit more.

    А если серьезно прикрасная работа, осталось только добавить механики, чтобы ИИ по прошествию времени строили станции, корабли, вырабатывали месторождения типо через 250ув часов астеройдное месторождения исчезает а корабли летят уже на другое. Ну когда будет доступно реализация кастомных анимаций, то будет вообще мечта. Ждём релиза.

      We will be refining the gate travel process to make it more seamless. The end goal is to remove the need for menus as much as possible (at least within space), and to hide/remove any load screens. There's a few ways we can do this, and we'll be experimenting with the best approach over time.

    • @XylaFox
      @XylaFox День назад +1

      I believe Grav Drives can still be utilised, and we are looking into adding a He3 requirement for doing so, which will benefit using the gates.

    • @Vaernus
      @Vaernus День назад

      This does not remove any features from Starfield per se. You will need to explore the gate network (either yourself, or sending scout ships to explore on your behalf). For every orbit you access, you also now can either jump directly to that orbit or any orbits in the same system. So there is a requirement for exploration at the start of a new game, but its a one time deal and otherwise you can jump anywhere like normal. Then as mentioned by Xyla, we are most likely reactivating He-3 requirements for jumping which will look at distance based on the amount of gates traveled through to determine He-3 costs. Since there will always be an orbit connected to the gate network in every system, you can travel to it and use the gates to get to the nearest Helium Station to top off.

    • @NightshadeDE
      @NightshadeDE День назад +1

      @ honestly I was personally worried about how it messes with the lore but even as a fan of starfields world and story I’m not gonna pretend like that’s a dealbreaker.
      The fuel system and how you described it does sounds like it could be a ton of fun, I just wish there were like places to visit out in the fringe, always felt like all the main cities were too close to each other.

    • @Vaernus
      @Vaernus День назад

      @@NightshadeDE So the gates were created by the same race that created the artifacts and temples. The end result is still working your way to the Unity. It is just a little more literal now. But the gate designs use the same materials and styles found in their other creations. It shouldn't really slow down the ability to fly wherever though as we also will have a lot of secrets (including derelict ships) that will let you build out a fleet pretty quickly. You can then just send them out to explore and the 250 gate orbits shouldn't take long at all. Or, as a lot of us have done in other space sims, experience the designs of each orbit and whatever unique content can be found in each personally.
      There is a definite feeling of "fringe" now with the gate network map. Whereas I'd say there's more "loneliness" in vanilla, there's a sense of dread the farther away from the Settled Systems you get, and some real dangers exploring without a strong enough ship. Especially in the northeast of the map.

    Will we be able to manually travel to other planets/moons at the same system?

    • @Vaernus
      @Vaernus День назад

      Absolutely, no different than base vanilla. Since our goal is trying to limit the use of loading screens and menus, we're looking at ways to make this more seamless in space as well. But you can still open the system view and pick other orbits to fast travel to them. The gate network connects to about 250 orbits out of about 1100 total in Starfield so plenty of pure exploration still available.

    • @Vaernus
      @Vaernus День назад +3

      A little early right now, but definitely in 2025. Its going to depend on how quickly we can now scale out everything in this foundational build to the rest of the gate network. We'll continue making these larger bits of footage showing our progress, as well as focused snapshots around individual features.
      We aren't necessarily doing anything with the "boots on the ground" gameplay. StarSim focuses entirely on space and how it interconnects with all locations you can visit on planets/moons. It does build on the space combat mechanics and adds a wide range of ship classes, capital ships, station building, a mission system, and a functional economy. And it does interconnect with the "boots on the ground" experience when it comes to how the simulation interact with cities/settlements, ship/station boarding, player-run outposts, etc.

      @XylaFox День назад +1

      I believe Grav Drives can still be utilised, and we are looking into adding a He3 requirement for doing so, which will benefit using the gates.
      The gates use Starborn aesthetics, which, in terms of our lore, were created by them (or at least whoever created the original Starborn technology). These gates were used to explore and colonise the resulting settled systems.

      @Vaernus День назад

    So this is a new mod? What happens to StarSim: Mining Conglomerate, will that be getting more updates?

    • @XylaFox
      @XylaFox День назад +1

      Mining Conglomerate is an independent creation that will continue to receive updates. Eventually, there will be a free patch to make StarSim and StarSim: MC work better together.

    • @Vaernus
      @Vaernus День назад

      Mining Conglomerate is already slated to get a pretty sizable storyline (at least 5-10 hours as a starting point), but we're waiting for the voice actor strike to end as most voice actors (even non SAG-AFTRA) will not take on voicing jobs as they would be blocked from future union voicing jobs. As such, we're keeping a few projects in parallel while we wait on the strike's results.
