Any links where we can see the finished visuals? Because... There's something very stagey and strange about what is shown here. It all feels like first rough drafts.
yep exactly - most of this would be version 1 in a visual effects pipeline. LED Stage is all marketing - and 90% of the shots are replaced with compositing to get to the final look - otherwise it ends up looking like this.
looks excellent.. wish I could see this in real life.. The future of filmmaking is looking very good as Sony is aligning vertical markets within the sony group. From high-end pro to consumer will be part of one ecosystem that just works.
Can't wait for LED walls to Actually be full spectrum accurate. The truth is they aren't yet. LED panel manufacturers need to add more LED colors than just RGB(W) to make it possible.
The entire ICVFX production system made possible by Unreal Engine, but not mentioned once. That's a bit sad. It wouldn't have hurt them to mention unreal, or the fact that it depends on some powerful nvidia gpus to do all that stuff in real-time. I'd be more interested in this if it wasn't such a brain dead fluff piece for Sony.
A lot of the shots that used the Stagecraft virtual stage, for Mandalorian were "retouched" in post production to increase contrast and get rid of aliasing issues. The PR departments make that technology sound better than it actually is (the horrible shots in this Sony demo are a good example of how "not real" they can look).
I got to visit this set during their production it was quite a setup. So awesome to see some of my friends working on this project!

I didn't realise the virtual VENICE was so comprehensive. That's very cool!
The moire alert is neat too.
Awesome! Love seeing the TODA Live use on this project :)
Sony Venice II and the Cooke Anamorphics. It's always a combo I see on these high end shoots. Unreal engine is popping off these last few years.
WOW 👑 SONY GOD FOREVER ✌️ #1 👑

One Sony
Dizzy Space!
ну видимо так американцы и "посещали Луну" в 1969 году. Безусловно у американцев всегда самые красивые и дорогие фильмы 😃
Where do we watch the full film?
❤❤❤cool
YAWWWWWN! It’s not taking off

Amazing but drives me crazy to see astronauts walking normally on the surface. I think Europa is slightly less gravity than the moon.

Looks pretty terrible TBH, the DoF feels off and the lighting flat. Probably will get there in a few years but def isnt there yet.
I totally agree. It's just not fully ready for convincing effects
