JOBY's WAVO Dual action vlogging Mic For Mobile phones or mirrorless and DLSR Cameras.
In my opinion this is one of the best compact vlogging mics for RUclipsrs and content creators, with a nice rich sound, and it is almost and good as my powered lav mic! Let me know what you think of it in the comments.

This is the video I need
Thanks for watching
Great, review, Mike! I love the statement "If you want a dead cat, one is available from Joby". :)
yes i should clarify :-) that is a furry mic cover NOT a household pet
Great video, thanks Mike.
Catch up day? lol
I have this Mic its very good especially for the price. And I have used this without a camera. Its pretty versatile!! Good job Mike.
Thanks for watching!
Sweet jebus how big is that fridge !!!! All the mentions of "muff" to one side this was a really informative video. Might be tempted, might "age" my voice as people think Im 14 years old lol. Thanks Mike and Kath.
the fridge was a bit of a present to ourselves when we bought the house and we have had it for 15 years or so now, so it has done us well.
regarding your voice, i think this would improve your silky tones - if that is even possible
Hi Mike. The weirdest thing just happened. I was playing a racing game and it crashed, taking my sound and wifi with it. I tried reinstalling drivers, but they couldn't find a device to install to. So, I'm currently resetting it to see if that fixes the problems. If not, I'll have to reinstall Windows. Good thing I have this little laptop. Good video review. But I take to microphones like Kath does to cameras. I had no problem playing in a band in front of three thousand people. But put a mic in front of me, and my throat freezes up.
Update, reset seems to have worked, and I kept all of my files. But, now I'll have to reinstall all of the software...
Hope you can determine the cause of the crash Oletta.
@@jamesmiscellaneous In all my years of working with computers I've never seen that happen before. How can a video game crashing take out the wifi and sound? When I tried to install the drivers, Windows couldn't find any components to install them to. I fixed it, but I don't know how it happened.
@@OlettaLiano Sounds like an issue that will present itself again if you don't figure out the cause. Did the crash produce a dump file? Run it through a minidump analyzer website. See if you get some clues. You water cool... check temps, pump still working, innards gunked up? Etc etc you know the drill. Find out the cause before more headaches come your way. I wish you good luck. And I asked in the discord what sort of novels you author hehe. Gotta read some of your stuff.
@@jamesmiscellaneous I don't have any dump files. When confronted with a major problem like that I just reinstall the OS. As for my writing, I could let you read the first five chapters if you are interested. I could use the feedback.
@@OlettaLiano Just reinstalling the OS won't fix a potential hardware issue that's brewing. I don't like using the NUKE option to solve issues, I like to pinpoint the cause. I do too much settings and customization so reinstalling the OS is tedious to me. That's why back up images are so important. What is the subject matter of your writings? Someone said it was sci fi which would be cool to see your creativity.
You can't beat a Rode shotgun mic, or a Marantz or for that matter a Sennheiser especially if shooting outside - The Marantz Audio Scope SG-5B is a pro mic & excellent but you can also pick one up for about £70 which is incredible value - Nice job though Mike, I find those foam sponges on those Chinese Mics tend to decay quite quickly !!
I have the rode micro but that didn’t work very well for me the sound profile lacked depth but it is a cheap model compared with some of the rode range. I’ll keep an eye on the foam though
@@mikesunboxing I don't use Rode but I have a Sennheiser ME66 with K6 power module as a shotgun Mic on my Video camera, I also use a Marantz SG-9P in a Dead cat. Both are used for wildlife and natural history work. Excellent Mics but obviously in a different league to the one in your review which sounded ok though for its price range.
I'm guessing in a strong wind that it would be useless though so best kept for indoor use. Stay well mate.
Hey. Would you recommend this for home videos?
yeah i think that would be fine and certainly an upgrade over most if not all built in camera mics
Mike, yes, how did you guess? 😂
