In a time of such a lack of appreciation for GOOD music, hes continued to be a die hard purist that’s trying to keep the classic jazz genre alive. He’s representative of his fathers well established legacy, not to mention a legend in his own right.

I love Cecile McLorin Salvant, she one of the greatest Jazz vocalist. Wynton Marsalis is too awesome, as with the Wynton Marsalis Quintet.

J'ai eu des frissons en écoutant cette chanson qui laisse à penser que cécile Mc Lorin Salvant, m'adresse un message très personnel au creux de mon oreille à travers cette interprétation très chaleureuse tant elle est bien réalisée, et ce genre de scénario, ça m'arrive rarement en écoutant de la musique de haut niveau...
C'est dire à quel point vous m'avez transporté très loin dans mon imaginaire, c'est juste P A R F A I T ...

She is half French, half American, her mother is from Guadeloupe, her father from Haïti, and she lived in France, notably while studying lyrical and baroque singing (in Aix-en-Provence).

no offence to anyone but why do i feel like Wynton Marsalis's music doesn't have as much power as before?
been doing the same retro gig too long. it's getting old. and so is he. he looks young, but he isn't. the youth and fire of doing something new, playing like your life depends on it.. he isn't getting challenged by colleagues and bosses. he the boss and getting rich soft a complacent.you'll be reading about his midlife crisis follies soon.
It depends with the current mood you're in...really. He was here in South Africa, late last year and we greatly enjoyed his music.
He's actually the "Master of Collaboration" (that's how I refer to him) has taken routine out of the usual. Pls, gve me one musical artist, with a similar collaborative flare, without thinking...
When we get into a habit of looking torwards the brighter 🌞 side of life, we become less bitter and tend to appreciate more. I think that, Wynton Marsalis, continues to be a bright 🌟 and instilles confidence in the younger generation.
