  • Travel with the driver as we travel from Geelong to South Geelong and shunt into the Queenscliffe siding which is the remaining piece of track that was once the line to Queenscliffe. We then redock and return to Geelong.

    Having never been to Geelong, it was interesting to see how big it is. Nice sunny day too.😁

    Hi there again...
    I would love to see a cab view of the updated Murchison East yard even going from Shepparton to Seymour would make a good video 😊😊

      It is on my list. Murchison East is having a lot of work done as we speak. Once reopened, I will be doing a video on it. 👍

    Good to see Geelong fans ready to board your up Service, Great to see they lost! Whilst I never drove VLo's as they're a tad after my time at V/Line, They seem very comfortable for the Bloke Driving!

      Yes, they are comfortable to drive and they are well patronised. I'm guessing you don't follow Geelong? LOL.

    Why is the booms so delayed at the crossing?

    • @driver667
      @driver667  Год назад +1

      The crossing is approach activated which means it operates when the train is detected on the piece of track just before it. This is because the track I am on is a siding and shorter trains do not need to go across the crossing before heading back to the platform. The track next to me is the main line and operates like all other crossings, well in advance.

    That line does not go anywhere 😢

    • @driver667
      @driver667  Год назад

      Not any more. It is used for shunting the South Geelong terminating trains out of the way of the Waurn Ponds trains. It is the last bit of rail left that used to go to Queenscliffe and is about to disappear for good with the works going on through there now.

      @@driver667 Not so fast! Matthew Guy says he wants to invest big-time in regional rail and extend services to Queenscliff. All he has to do is become leader of the Victorian Liberals again and win the next election. It must be true.

      @@mjmcb1 they were talking about reinstating the line as far as Drysdale in the late 80's. I think that with Torquay now on the table that we won't see Drysdale as much as I would like to see it.
