If I had not discovered OOE on RUclips, I wouldn't have known that I often made a lot of grammar mistakes whenever I spoke the english language.. I just wanted to say thank you guys for making such an effort to share this knowledge to people. I really appreciate it..
That is a great lesson. In the past, I've always mixed those three verbs, thinking that they have the same kind of function, especially 'would' and 'could'. However, now everything is clear to me, and I'm confident that in the future, I won't have a hard time using them. Thank you so much for this lesson ❤
It’s an amazing lesson, if I had known about it before my Ielts speaking exam, I would have scored better. I should’ve subscribed and turned the alarm on to add this superb new grammar to my knowledge
What an award-winning lesson! If I had got to know this channel earlier, I would have been able to master at speaking English more.. I suppose that I should have subscribed this channel and you could have helped me with my English before.
Very nice, Hinux! One tip: '...been able to master speaking English,' or, '...been able to become a master of speaking English,' not, '...been able to master at speaking English.' Hope this helps you!
The best thing I learn in this lesson is that "would, should, could" are modal verbs, which don't have past forms. Back in the days when I learned English at school in my country, "would and could" were kind of mistaken as the past forms of "will and can," and that made it really confusing with the idea adding "have + P.P." to talk about the past. Thank you so much for pointing that out right at the beginning of this lesson!
It's a common point of confusion! The problem is that in some cases, 'could' and 'would' *are* the past forms of 'can' and 'will', but they're also full modals in their own right. Modals are complex, I think.
I should have blame to blame myself if i didn't watch the topic from you stefani and martin you are the best English grammar i ever since i really appreciate you stay blessed
Thanks! Here's a tip for your sentence: You might want to say something like: 'I would have blamed myself if I hadn't watched the topic...'. We can use 'would have', because you actually did watch it. Hope this is useful for you!
@@Oxfordonlineenglish1 thank you so much i finally understand how to use could have when talking about luckiness should have for critic Would have for imagination

Hi my great teachers! Thanks for teaching us about "would have" , "could have" and "should have" And I've come across the following sentence : "If the photograph was taken in 1999 , I would have been ten years old" I've got a native speaker saying the sentence And my question is : Why is the first part of the sentence "was taken" and not "had been taken" Someone took the photographer in the past , then why not "had been taken" ? It's a conditional sentence , isn't it ? And also I've come across such a sentence which is "I wish I never met you" The act of meeting is in the past but why not "had never met" Could you explain why ? Thank you so much!
