In episode 2 Aegon called Rhaenyra the "queen of bastards" and threw a tantrum and in this episode the smallfolk called his mom and sister/wife the "queen of fishes" and threw rotten seafood in their face and mouth. You can't make this stuff up lol. And then Sir Criston called Rhaenyra the "whore of dragonstone" and Rhaenyra is like hold my beer and she employs an official "whore of dragonstone" as her master of whispers.
Everyone in the castle can see Alys, but they never look her in the eye or talk to her because they are all afraid of her. She pretty much owns Harrenhal Castle.

Idk if she's real, they've been very iffy about her interacting with anybody and when that guy Samson strong I think is his name? He tells daemon she worked on grover tully but he didn't make it and he's smirking as he walks away, he's almost never smirky like that when discussing news with daemon so I wonder if that interaction actually happened
It's more like she RESPECTS Harrenhal for being a dangerous place. Everyone that tries to 'own' it ends up running away screaming in the night.

people really do find symbolism where they look for it. Even if the writers did not put it there.
Aemond has never been more dangerous than he is right now, and Ewan Mitchell is chillingly good at being indecipherable.
The scene when his mother Caressed his face and you could see the softness in his eye was some nice acting.

I think what happened is that Ser Steffon got a bit arrogant in thinking he 'tamed' Seasmoke. Dragons don't just want a fearless rider, they want a rider who doesn't think they are better than them.

nah, Seasmoke was never gonna accept him. 1, he already had eyes on Addam. 2, he had a trolling face on the entire time.
Gawain Hightower has become surprisingly likeable, that is definitely something I didn't expect. A lot of reactors are clocking the fact that the near famine in KL is being primarily caused by the naval blockade, but nobody seems to be recognizing that unrest in the Reach and closing KL gates for common folk is also creating a strain on food imports from the agricultural region in the southwest. They aren't getting grain, vegetables or meat from the region around Oldtown, Highgarden, and Horn Hill b/c of the revolt of some major noble houses there. The Prince Regent is going to need to open the city to people who want to leave, or they are about to have several hundred thousand starving people ready to riot for real next time.
Sending the UberEats was a 4D chess move, Myseria really is a brilliant strategist.
Oh and Dragons are definitely cats, the Universal Dragon Distribution proves it.
Pretty clear also that if Larys is the Littlefinger equivalent (amoral manipulative bastard who thrives on chaos), Myseria is the Varys equivalent (foreign-born spymaster who has a concern for the welfare of the common folk).
All the food imports would obviously be allowed in, transported by the city guards. Its people that arent allowed in or out. Idk where you got that information from.
@@rexibhazoboa7097 That's not what I said, at all. The food supplies are being disrupted _in the reach_ by uprisings. The shipment to Kl is in peril b/c of spreading conflict from noble houses attacking Aegon II loyalists. The common folk in KL are not being allowed to leave at will. Hope that clarifies it.

I didn't realize that the lack of food in Kings Landing is because of Corlys Velayron's blockade on behalf of Rhaenyra. So she is the cause of their suffering but presents a "solution" to foster goodwill by providing them food. BUT, Aemond and the small council don't seem to particularly care that the small folks have next to no food. Instead, they prevented the people from leaving.
The small folk are the ones overlooked but the most impacted by all of this. smdh
It was stated clearly in episode 1 by Corlys, then again by Otto, then again by Aegon. It was also showed, that's how Rheanyra's guard found Mysaria.
And The small council did care. Otto recognized the issue, Aegon told his people he planned to send Vhagar to burn it to ash, Aemond plans for the Lannister fleet to disrupt the blockade.
So I dont know what you are talking about. The show has made it clear that they care and they made it clear it was Rheanyra's blockade.
Seasmoke gave him a chance, He chose to walk like a coward, inching closer, if you noticed the dragon watched him, and when he stopped, instead of being confident enough to claim what was offered, Seasmoke knew he wasn't worthy and thus, death by fire.
I mean, can you blame the guy? What a monumental task he was given. I respect him a lot for trying and I don't feel like enough people do
Seasmoke had eyes for someone else already. He was trolling from the beginning.
I'm probably in the minority but I loved watching Alicent's fall in power and status. This is her undoing and I'm here for it. Aemond needs his ego checked. I think he thinks he's invincible. I love Alys doing Daemon a solid and Rhaenyra feeding KL. I cannot wait for the next episode. I really enjoyed this episode.

King Viserys said it best, Targaryens having control over dragons was just an illusion. Just because you are born a Targaryen or have Targaryen blood, be it full, half, or just a trace of it, doesn't automatically mean you can be a dragon rider. The dragon has the final choice on who it will accept. That's why Rhaena hasn't bonded with one yet, but that remains to be seen. The three riderless "tame" ones housed at Drangonstone didn't bond with her, but there are 3 wild dragons - Gray Ghost, Sheepstealer & The Cannibal...

Aemond is still pissed over the fact that he was constantly bullied by Aegon, but Alicent never did a damn thing to stop it. That's why he always goes to Sylvie at the brothel whenever he needs to feel comforted. Alicent never taught either of them how to be decent & kind. She has never been half or even a quarter of the loving & nuturing mother as Rhaenyra was to her sons. She doesn't know how to be a good mother because she lost her mom at a young age & was raised by Otto, but only as a pawn to gain power. So she did the same thing with Aegon, but she (nor Viserys) ever taught him HOW to rule because everyone knew Rhaenyra was supposed to inherit the crown. She just let him be the spoiled prince, who felt entitled to do whatever or whomever he wanted, with no consequences of his actions.

Rhaenyra did warn the knight that he needs to be ready to die. Dragons at the end of the day choose their riders and this is clearly what happens when the dragons reject potential candidates.
Which explains why they are reluctant to let Rheana try again since she clearly almost died before.

9:20 - Partially because Sir Steffon was to hesitant and partially because he got to confident and the end just before trying to tide Seasmoke. Seasmoke looked to be giving him a chance but Steffon said "I've done it" before even getting on and relaxed as if he'd already succeeded, Seasmoke did not like that and hence the fire.
11:18 - No, she's just saying it to turn the people in the bar towards Rhaenyra, she wasn't saying it specifically towards him nor was looking for him specifically either.
11:54 - Because he was the smallest of the available dragon's on Dragonstone and they thought he would be the dragon with the highest chance for success. Seasmoke being agitated was also a reason they picked him first because Seasmoke agitation was because, as noted by Rhaenyra, him being lonely and missing his rider so they hoped that would cause him to be more willing to take on a new Rider.

Seasmoke seems to have a "type" for his Riders if Laenor and Adam are any indication.
29:37 Kinda OT here but I totally agree with what you're saying about having someone who see you for who you truly are, and supports you b/c what they perceive, and what they like about you are the qualities you value most in yourself. Doesn't matter if that person is a friend, peer, romantic partner etc. being seen & valued for who we are as individuals is a primal human desire for truly intimate connection.
As far as Rhaenyra/Myseria goes, they have a growing bond based in mutual respect & trust, and I believe they're both very lonely. Orientation aside, it must feel like a personal miracle when someone sincerely tells you "I see and value you for who you are.".
I think cabbage leaves were used on Aegon....they reduce inflammation. Women are told to use them on their breasts if they have mastitis/want their milk to dry up....

I didn't really understand the kingsguard telling the queens that they needed to leave in that situation. It felt like they would have been safer inside the church with the kingsguard blocking the door?
I didn't either, maybe it was because the church was outside the walls of the keep and they didn't know exactly what was happening, how big the crowds actually were? Or they just needed that decision for an exciting scene, lol

We can see Aemond is putting order and taking charge at the council, nobody's wasting time anymore, he's not manipulative at all, and the council don't like that.
Aemond is a fool much like his brother, just in a different way. His arrogance will be his undoing. Their brash, youthful idiocy is what ruins them. Not dealing with the smallfolk will have severe consequences for ALL Targaryens and dragons for the rest of Westeros history, all thanks to the idiocy of the Greens. Aegon and Aemond are primarily concerned with petty vengeance, like Otto said. Even if Aemond is more tactically brilliant, his inability to deal with the rest of the political strife in King's Landing is an issue.

I wish you guys hadn't cut the scenes of Daemon comforting Viserys and of Addam meeting Seasmoke. They were two of the most impactful scenes in the episode. The one between Daemon and Viserys was important because it showed his regret for not being there for his brother. Daemon is finally realizing the impact of his actions in his efforts to be king. When he learned of Lord Grover Tully's death, he saw yet another innocent victim of his ambition. It was guilt he was feeling after he learned of the manner of Lord Grover's death. That's why he broke down in tears. He wasn't happy.
Alys Rivers has become one of my favorite characters, she's so oddly arrogant and mysterious. The very first time I saw her, she just walks in, glaring at everybody while they are all bending the knee to Daemon. She treats Daemon Targaryen like he's a wayward child and walks around like she owns Harrenhal Castle. No one ever confronts her about anything, plus she can control owls. Is Alys Rivers even her real name, who or what is she, in reality?
She's becoming one of my favorites as well. I'm hoping that she will be in S3 too.

Agreed. This is not a good thing. She is literally committing adultery and Alicent/Christian aren't a 1:1 because neither of them are ruling. This plot point wasn't even in the book either so it just feels tacked on and unnecessary.
