@jaystechvault I just learned of your video today and this is great. Very excited to try this out. For photogrammetry, do you know of any programs that can generate a 3d model and provide measurements say of a building?

This product FINALLY makes it possible for DJI Fly-based drones to have their waypoint missions created with the same convenience and ease that is possible for older DJI drones that are compatible with Litchi. Hats off to the brilliant minds who created this diamond in the rough. This is a MAJOR breakthrough that will take the DJI drone world by storm.
@@JaysTechVault I think I might have misunderstood the function of this ingenious product you've created. I initially thought this product enabled DJI drone owners to use laptops to create and save waypoint missions that extend linearly for miles downrange before looping back to their autonomously flying drones' original takeoff home point. After watching this descriptive video, however, I can see this product is geared toward drone mapping and photogrammetry. If this same platform could be used to create linear waypoint flight plans that can be defined and stored on a desktop computer, that would be the best news I could hope for. Any clarification you can offer on this waypoint versus mapping capability question would be appreciated.
I'm going to support you right now before even downloading a single thing just because of the last few minutes of video. Im always appreciative of skills and knowledge I cant fathom that comes more readily to others, haha just figuring out a FC board and putting ELRS on my first freestyle drone had me almost in tears hahaha
I used to use Litchi with my older drones (P3, P4pro) all the time. It is AWESOME to be able to pre-plan waypoint missions on my computer again!!! Can't wait to try it out on my Mini4Pro and Air 3s using the RC2. Great work!!
Thank you! I haven't had the chance to try it out, so I'm hoping I have the mental capacity to get from A to Z. I've done my research, but nothing compares to what you're providing with the Mavic 3 Pro, particularly in terms of drone mapping. It's increasingly more difficult, carving out my portion of this, very niche, means of making a living. At times, I wonder if an enterprise model would have been a better choice. However, seeing how sexy footage looks with that 4/3 sensor, I'm reminded of just how dope it really is. Your insights and contributions are truly amazing my friend.

Hi Jay, thank you for such a great video, and for putting out the web app to create the waypoints for mapping. As a newby, I am following the instruction in the video and I have a question, in the setup of the RC controller, I can follow how you go from saving the downloaded file in the computer to the SD card, move the SD card to the controller and then ... -- HOW IN THIS WORLD DO I GET TO THE NEXT SCREEN (IS THAT IN THE CONTROLLER ITSELF?) TO REPLACE THE JUST SAVED KZM FILE? I CANNOT GET HOW TO NAVIGATE, OR AM I TRYING TO NAVIGATE IN THE WRONG DEVICE? FOR TIME REFERENCE IN THE VIDEO 10:10 TO 10:22 ... EDITED -- I solved that part. It was my SD card was not setup for the RC. BUT ... When I did copy the ONE file output-4.KMZ, I got two files in my SD Card the output-4.kmz (1.89kb) and a second one ._output-4.kmz (4.10kb) which of them do I "copy to.." and replace in the RC folder?
Hi, thanks a lot for the video! I’m now trying to import the kmz file to the RC-N2 from my iPhone. But I don’t get where you find the file with the letters (09:04 minute). Where do you get the file? Thanks
Exceptional work! Just a couple of thoughts. I have an RC-Pro with an Mavic 3. That option isn't presently on your list. Also, I'd like to suggest that the reverse points option be included in the free option for those of us "Down under" and in the southern hemisphere. Also, I thought there is a limit of 200 points/actions with these generated flight paths - which could be the reason the controller crashes?/can't open the generated flight path. Keep up the good work! I haven't had a chance to try this all out yet, but love it.
I was following the directions until about 10:29, and I try copying the .KMZ file to the DJI RC2, but I don't see "DJI RC 2" on the left. I only see "disk" and "downloads." How do I get to the RC 2 storage?
Hey Jays, will you be looking into creating one for facade inspection. However, that would actually need to know the location and building's height and stuff. Something that another software I noticed is able to pull. They probably used an API of another service. That is a premium feature that I would be willing to pay.
When we creating waypoint for mapping purposes, does the drone will only take picture at the waypoint or how to create a wayooint that will allow the drone to take picture along the journey towards each waypoint ?
Hey Jay, thank you and your team for this. I'm attempting with DJI RC2... is that possible? and if so, where are you in this tutorial at 10:22 to navigate the files? Is that within in the controller?
Hi! After 4 hours I succeeded. Via my old controller without the screen, the RC1 didn't like the number of waypoints I wanted to add and crashed all the time (without adding them on the map at all). Could you clarify why it's important to copy the new file to an existing folder and use the name of the old file from that folder? I would like to understand this point. ☺
Hello can you help me out I currently have the mini 4 pro with the remote but when I create the dummy way point it does not save it as a file like yours so I am not able to access it , there is nothing like waypoints showing when I insert the sd card, is there some thing I am missing or it’s a form ware issue.
I have a MacBook Pro and I could not connect it to the DJI RC2. I need this connection to download the Waypoint generated with the Premium version. Do you have the instructions to do that?
This is awesome! Thank you! I have a Mavic 3 Classic. It has a great camera, it'd be a shame to not use it for mapping and modeling. I'll definitely be testing this out.
Thanks for the tool! I´ve managed to import it ti the rcpro but I see that the green trayectory between the waypoints is not a straight line but rather a curved one. Is this how the drone will fly? Because i think that will affect the overlaping of images and the quality of the map. Or it just will move in a straight line between waypoits? Thanks!
This waypoint creation tool is absolutely brilliant and is a huge time saver over the cumbersome DJI data entry method of creating waypoint missions on the RC Pro controller. The paid version is affordable and adds several powerful features not available in the free version. This is without question a product whose time has come. . In other words, once waypoint sequences have been devised with this utility you have created, is it possible to copy such waypoint sequences into DJI Fly on the iPad, as opposed to transferring the waypoint flight plan to the RC Pro controller?
Awesome tutourial Jay, Thanks so much. I am starting fro scratch on the mapping deal. It seems to load into the Desktop version OK, but I don't see. Any ideas/ Or just go straight to uploading to drone and check on site?
Hi , is there a way or will there be away to edit waypoints in a list, rather that individually (painful)? For example I want to edit an existing KMZ to lower the altertude without regenerating al the point locations in a new polygon. This would also enable me to create a cross hatch, east-west and north-south in 2 separate files. I know I can added north-south on top of east-west, Great, but the control truncates the number of waypoint to 164 from 353. Love your work mate.
What can you do with the free version? Is there a way for me to map my house roofing just once to get a feel of how the software creates waypoints, and the waypoint download and save to controller features?

I want to know if it’s possible after the mission planning, process the obtained data to know measurements of the field. I’m a farmer so I need to measure areas in acres of hectares for my fertilizer and pesticide program. Its 2D info, I don’t really need 3D models. Hope you can help me, greetings from Mexico!
was looking forward to trying this out but I'm not getting the same option to set how you have them in your video via my PC. Hey Jays. I'm new to drone mapping and 3D modeling. You built a great tool and I was successfully able to use it to import my waypoints into my rc 2 (i'm using a dji pro 4). However, even if the tools says its a free service, I can't change the height of the waypoints. The drone is always flying 60m high even if I load a second kmz file that is set to 40 meters. I'm 100% sure the rc 2 is reading 2 different kmz files because the first one had 39 waypoints while the second has 28. Did someone else got the same issue ? let me know if anyone found a solution for that. Thanks community!!
Hi Jays! Thanks for making this great apps! I am just wondering, are there any features to estimate time or nunber of battery needed to finish the mapping? I used drone deploy using other drone and those features help me out to design the mapping. Once again, thanks!!!
I have a mini 4 pro with rc2 controller. I can’t seem to find a way point folder when I try to transfer from an SD card via the controller. And when I try to do it the way you do on a computer I do see the way point folder when searching files on a computer. After copying it in and then changing the names to match and deleting the old one and then go look for it, it doesn’t change anything when I check way points. It’s still the same as the old file. That’s with drone on or off. All in all I’m feeling like I just paid the $15 for your premium subscription for no reason at this point. I followed the instructions to a T with constant rewinding because you fly thru it so fast. I recommend flying thru the sky not a tutorial lol something updated and a little slower might help. I don’t know tho. Maybe DJI updates there firmware to prevent over writing files like this? Sucks cause I was really looking forward to using this.
It currently works there is now an installer program for windows that auto installs it. You likely are doing something slightly different and therefore it won’t work.
@@JaysTechVault I have this same problem and I am using the RC2 - has the integrated screen. I can access the SD card and I see the waypoint file, but whether I hit 'move to' or 'copy to', I am never presented with the RC2 option to move the file to the local storage and away from the SD card.
How do I go about creating multiple project files without having to create a new dummy file for each? Is that possible? Because that's kind of a pain I would have to go fly my drone quick to create a dummy file to start a new project file to import into.
Amazing, thank you for your work! This is a great and much needed solution. Do you plan to support the DJI RC PRO 2 controller (Mavic 3 CINE)? I will be grateful for the info!
what software do you use for mapping new to this got my mavic 3 a fews years ago just for fun but want to use it on farms to map are field's so just wondering if there is perfered software for this
I STILL think it's a shame that the AIR 3 isn't a good mapping drone for some software, I really want to do it. Have you guys done a mapping mission with the AIR 3 for a client, and what was/is the outcome? Love your channel!
I just found your website. Trying to use the add marker function to add waypoint so my air3 flies around a park, but would love to film it with a POI in the middle of the park. Is this even possible? I don't see an option for POI. thanks
In my case, and surely I am not the only one, it is not possible to pay USD15 a month. I sometimes do photogrametry, but lets say around 5 times on average a year. therefore, those $15 become into a dear option. If your group consider the fact of paying some amount per, let us say, 5 flights, that would solve problems and you would attract more users
@@velociraptor5962 my calculations are: USD 180 a year... 5 photogrammetry actions... That's USD 36 for each action.... Yeah, I am totally aware that I can unsubscribe and subscribe again.... But as a commercial developer, I like things well done. This was a suggestion though
Hello Finally i do supuse all well, i have a air 3 with rc 2 control, i have to use windows for copy the file in infernal control memory, but when i check on the control, the waypoint dont change and the app Fly confunsed, i dont know why, i already replace the file, but it doesnt work, can you help me

Hello Jay, my name is Jairo, I am writing to you from Colombia, I congratulate you on the application, I am going to try it and then be able to make the monthly payments. I would like to ask you something. When creating the mesh for the trajectory in the application, the lines appear straight, but when loading it in the DJI application, the trajectories appear curved; If so, we would be taking images that do not correspond to the area to be worked on and we could have a different route than the one initially planned. Can this be solved in some way? thank you.
@Jays Tech Vault I am following your examples exactly for the dji rc and it's not loading when I click on the file in the waypoints. (file shows it's there). I have the Mavic 3 pro. Please help.
I need help, I managed to replace the kmz file but when I open it from DJI Fly the flight paths are not parallel, they are routes with curves that overlap. How can I solve this?
A lot of people are having the same problem, I believe that this cannot be done using the standard RC Controller (the one with the built in screen, no antenna). There is no android directory on the internal storage if you are using it with a mini 3 or the mini 3 pro. At least that is my case.
I have replaced the KMZ file (from sd to internal), but I still see the old waypoints. I have tried so many time. Are you sure it's working on the Mavic 3 Pro ? I see also 2 files when adding the kmz to the sd.
If I am understanding you correctly, the drone in the free version will start taking pictures on the waypoint mission as long you have the time photo set. I see on the waypoint mission there is no camera action set, is this correct?
The free version just means you have to do a lot manually. Nothing is explicitly paywalled except I think the automatic altitude adjustment and vertical paths (north south)
Hi, i am having some problems. I just bought my mavic 3 pro. I have tried to do what you did, I did a flight with arround 5 points in waypoint ad the RC Controler but when i went to look in the micro sd at the laptop the folder waypoint did not appear. Could someone help me?
I am a new customer and fly a brand new DJI mavic Pro 3 with the DJI RC controller. Right out of the box I was able to browse the waypoint folder, but now that it has received updates from DJI I can no longer access the Waypoint folder. Tried different ways including using connecting to my pc. Looks like I can no longer use the method you have documented to get the generated mapping file to DJI device Has anyone reported this issue?
I can see both and the directory is not available, but I can see my test waypoints on the remote so they exist but no longer accessible after the drone updated.

Would this work on a very hilly river property with elevation changes of more than 150 feet?
nice one !
It is work with dji rc pro?
Hi Jays! Thanks for making this great apps! I am just wondering, are there any features to estimate time or nunber of battery needed to finish the mapping?
I used drone deploy using other drone and those features help me out to design the mapping. Once again, thanks!!!
I am using Mavic 3 pro now
how can you select some points to modify something that affects only to those?
Thanks
I have the same problem, it doesnt show
It currently works there is now an installer program for windows that auto installs it. You likely are doing something slightly different and therefore it won’t work.
I cannot move the file to my RC 2 remote. When I select the KMZ file and select "copy to" the RC option doesn't even show up. Any suggestions?
That sounds like instructions for the RC not the rc2
@@JaysTechVault I have this same problem and I am using the RC2 - has the integrated screen. I can access the SD card and I see the waypoint file, but whether I hit 'move to' or 'copy to', I am never presented with the RC2 option to move the file to the local storage and away from the SD card.
(Have an Air 3)
You are following the wrong instructions.
thank you so much , I have a question about time shot , is it taking 12MP or 48MP photos? can it be adjusted?
Yeah you can do either
How do I go about creating multiple project files without having to create a new dummy file for each? Is that possible? Because that's kind of a pain I would have to go fly my drone quick to create a dummy file to start a new project file to import into.
I’m working on making the kmz installer do all of that automatically. However yes currently.
Amazing, thank you for your work! This is a great and much needed solution. Do you plan to support the DJI RC PRO 2 controller (Mavic 3 CINE)? I will be grateful for the info!
It should work with those devices. Just follow the RC 2 tutorial.
@@JaysTechVault thanks a lot!
@@JaysTechVault Hi! was wondering if you had positive results. Owner of a M3 Cine as well !
what software do you use for mapping new to this got my mavic 3 a fews years ago just for fun but want to use it on farms to map are field's so just wondering if there is perfered software for this
Why cant I find waypoints in the menu of my DJI RC for my Mavic mini 3 pro?
I STILL think it's a shame that the AIR 3 isn't a good mapping drone for some software, I really want to do it. Have you guys done a mapping mission with the AIR 3 for a client, and what was/is the outcome? Love your channel!
Does it work for mini 3? thx you
My RC2 does not allow me to open in PC and access internal storage files.
Is there a feature, either free or premium, that calculates acreage? Doesn’t have to be exact, just a close estimate.
hello, i dont have that folder wayline missions, im using a dji mini 2
I just found your website. Trying to use the add marker function to add waypoint so my air3 flies around a park, but would love to film it with a POI in the middle of the park. Is this even possible? I don't see an option for POI. thanks
Use the circle tool
In my case, and surely I am not the only one, it is not possible to pay USD15 a month.
I sometimes do photogrametry, but lets say around 5 times on average a year.
therefore, those $15 become into a dear option.
If your group consider the fact of paying some amount per, let us say, 5 flights, that would solve problems and you would attract more users
I believe you can cancel at any time..
Might, but it is not the point subscribing and unsubscribing everytime... Perhaps lots of times. It makes not much sense to me
$15 is peanuts. It's not even half a tank of fuel. But cancel when you don't need it, and pay when you do.
@@velociraptor5962 my calculations are:
USD 180 a year... 5 photogrammetry actions... That's USD 36 for each action....
Yeah, I am totally aware that I can unsubscribe and subscribe again.... But as a commercial developer, I like things well done.
This was a suggestion though
@@Moroder_Drone if you can't break even at 36$ I'm doubting your business as a whole. Don't be lazy, it's extremely fair already
Amazing, thank you 🙏🏻
Hello Finally i do supuse all well, i have a air 3 with rc 2 control, i have to use windows for copy the file in infernal control memory, but when i check on the control, the waypoint dont change and the app Fly confunsed, i dont know why, i already replace the file, but it doesnt work, can you help me
First off this is absolutely awsome! I have already started the premium membership, I'm struggling with all the folders that are under the waypoint folder on my controller do I need all of these can I delete them and only have one that I work out of?
Yes
With the premium version, can the drone be instructed to stop and take a picture?
Hello Jay, my name is Jairo, I am writing to you from Colombia, I congratulate you on the application, I am going to try it and then be able to make the monthly payments. I would like to ask you something. When creating the mesh for the trajectory in the application, the lines appear straight, but when loading it in the DJI application, the trajectories appear curved; If so, we would be taking images that do not correspond to the area to be worked on and we could have a different route than the one initially planned. Can this be solved in some way? thank you.
I'm getting an error: TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating 'selectedShape.setMap') when using the POI tool....
@Jays Tech Vault I am following your examples exactly for the dji rc and it's not loading when I click on the file in the waypoints. (file shows it's there). I have the Mavic 3 pro. Please help.
Make sure you don’t have duplicate “.kmz.kmz” when you copy it over
I need help, I managed to replace the kmz file but when I open it from DJI Fly the flight paths are not parallel, they are routes with curves that overlap. How can I solve this?
That’s included in the paid version. You don’t need the straight lines for learning.
Can I use this with my Air 2S?
Why use a SD card when you can transfer the KMZ from computer -> to RC controller?
A lot of people are having the same problem, I believe that this cannot be done using the standard RC Controller (the one with the built in screen, no antenna). There is no android directory on the internal storage if you are using it with a mini 3 or the mini 3 pro. At least that is my case.
I have replaced the KMZ file (from sd to internal), but I still see the old waypoints. I have tried so many time. Are you sure it's working on the Mavic 3 Pro ? I see also 2 files when adding the kmz to the sd.

Now that I have all these pictures how do I put them all together? 601 waypoints over a cotton field.
aerialmodel.com
@@JaysTechVault I'm trying to map this field . coordinates 31°35'06.9"N 106°12'07.6"W. Can you tell me what settings to use? gimble -90, speed, etc.
Mine is not downloading the plan for some reason, no folders in my computer showing the download.
What software would you recommend for modeling with photogrammetry a 10000m² site? It's a one shot project so I don't need a long term subscription.
I don’t have it ready but I’m working on a service with a much smaller subscription,
Will this work with the AIR2S?
Can i apply this method on mini 3 pro?
So I have on the free version to start taking photos and stop making photos manually? thanks
You use the “timed shots” feature instead so it automatically takes pictures every few seconds.
i draw a circle and it puts the waypoints somwhere else...am i missing something?
Is there an area limitation for plotting an area? I just tried to do a large area, and it does not generate a flight path.
For super large areas yes how big are you trying to fly?????
how to delete waypoint mission ?
?
can some help i cant get this to work
If I am understanding you correctly, the drone in the free version will start taking pictures on the waypoint mission as long you have the time photo set. I see on the waypoint mission there is no camera action set, is this correct?
The free version just means you have to do a lot manually. Nothing is explicitly paywalled except I think the automatic altitude adjustment and vertical paths (north south)
@@JaysTechVault I do plan on getting Premium but first what to try it out. Thanks for getting back to me.
Hi, i am having some problems. I just bought my mavic 3 pro. I have tried to do what you did, I did a flight with arround 5 points in waypoint ad the RC Controler but when i went to look in the micro sd at the laptop the folder waypoint did not appear. Could someone help me?
Make sure you select the internal storage and not the sd card
Hi! did you have any success?
Can mini 3 pro use this
my flie is not showing in the waypoint files am using an iPhone with the dji fly app

Looks like I can no longer use the method you have documented to get the generated mapping file to DJI device
Has anyone reported this issue?
Make sure you aren’t browsing the sd card and instead the internal storage
I can see both and the directory is not available, but I can see my test waypoints on the remote so they exist but no longer accessible after the drone updated.
@@DigitiFilms I just updated everything on mine and I can still access it. You are in "internal storage" > Android > Data > dji.go.v5 > files > waypoint
I cant access that white menu from my RC . WTH??
I'm lost...Please help (but don't laugh at me LOL)....It's a pain to try to create a simple (Non-3D) Waypoint mission on my Mini 4 Pro, using the RC2...Is there a way I can connect my Mini 4 Pro to my Desktop/Laptop and then create the Waypoint Mission using my desktop? Or maybe create the SDK file, then transfer it to an SD card, then do the same thing you did in this video?
Amazing video btw, I understand everything you stated in this video and how to do everything.
I just want to create a simple Waypoint mission, not 3D Mapping mission. Do I make any sense at all?????
UPDATE: I finally figured it out...Hahaha... Hope the .KMZ files work!
