Truth.. tractors, cars, off road, old as 1800s all able to run. That takes massive coin to keep in that state. Cant imagine the annual cost to maintain them.
Incredible collection! This is how you do it! Much much better than your average rich dude’s collection with a bunch of new expensive stuff in the same two or three colors. Well done.
one of the reason I hooked and stay watching the video till the end because he is real car enthusiast ..he knew everything about the cars he own and the car realm industry etc. and based on the information in the video..he is one of few in the world that will know what upcoming car will be since the manufacture gonna contact him first about their new upcoming car but still keeping that secret
He hangs the flag of the country above rows of the cars they produced. Like that line of Mustangs with the American flag above. He has real respect and a real love for cars and their origins. Mad respect to this guy.
Mr. Chin's natural passion for cars and driving them is palpable. I truly enjoyed this speedy version of a tour of his collection - so many great details and stories. From the looks of one to the sound of another - so much fun. The bonus was that the car they drove is the simple merceedes which brought as many smiles and any car. - Thank you for sharing this! Please go back and visit this collection another time and take your time to record the stories.
Its so wild to see that R34 that won the A8-Class in 2004 on the 24 Hours of Nürburgring is still around. I saw it back then Live and fell in Love with the Falken Livery and the Car itself as a Kid. The rest of the Collection is just amazing aswell, but the R34 has to be my absolute Favorite of them all

@@mohammadshamsuddin9978 Even if preventing just ONE of his cars from corroding, that aircon bill would have been worth it, everyday, all day. Let alone his entire collection.
It's funny what we saw as a fun common car. The 240Z is hard to find now, even for a man with lots of money. 30 years ago, my mom sold hers for $1500, running and driving !
@@zuzuzaza98 not only malaysia but whole world..and all this crazy car prices culture start from USA haha and the rest of the world just gonna follow along for the benefit
What a legend, he knows his cars and and how many units made for the more expensive ones.. definitely treats his car collecting with a business mindset coupled with a deep passion
Many people don't realize how crazy and hard and expensive it is to amass a collection this size with the strict import regulations and very high import tax. People in North America and Europe have it quite abit easy for them
Wow, what a great story Chen! Wouldn’t that be awesome if you could race for them him here in the United States, bet that’d be a dream come true for you! I know would not disappoint! Absolutely amazing story!
What an amazing collection! It is so nicely curated. Proper automotive museum, I love the range of cars he has from Suzuki to Buggati. Larry and Hagerty thanks for bringing us access to collections like this and making awesome videos keep it up :)
You can tell he's a businessman : he mentions quite a few times that some of the cars are appreciating. So he collects them, but there's also the investment return potential, and he doesn't lose sight of that.
These guys aren't wasting money, they preserve history and make better interest w an incredible passion hobby. You can break even doing it right even if you're not trying. These cars won't drop
@@thisgame2 Not that I said they were wasting money. But to say you can't lose money "even if you're not trying" is wrong. Anything that can go up in value can of course go down in value. And even with owning only one or two cars as investments, you still have to repair them (they will break), insurance and store them securely. So they would need to return 5-10% of their purchase price just to cover the cost of ownership if you never drove them. Not all cars will return that much. Even limited edition classics. All the best.
Larry Chen does great videos. He has achieved a lot and deserves his success. However. No matter what Larry does or says, I will never forget the fact that he mistook a Zonda for a Huayra.
So awesome he not only has an outstanding car collection but he is extremely knowledgeable on the vehicles that he does own such an inspiration to see that anyone can do anything as long as you work hard enough, and dedication to the dream.
I had a good friend in high school whose mother bought a new orange 240Z. She would let her daught borrow it and we would go cruising in it. I understand why there is such a demand for them as they were a blast to drive. Light weight with 6 cylinders equals FUN!
I love how his collection isn't just composed of high value/original vehicles and how Mr. JP Chin purchased each one because he wanted to and how he has a story for each purchase. I hope he makes a YT channel some day talking about each car, similar to what David Lee has done with his Ferrari's. It's a shame that Larry and the crew only had 2 hours to document the collection since it only seems like they were able to go over 50-60 cars out of the 140/150 he considers part of the collection.
This is such a great and eclectic collection. You can just tell he’s a real car enthusiast. No doubt, some of these are investments, but I get the feeling that’s only a secondary benefit to him.
He owned almost 200 cars and he acknowledge history and memory every single of it. Truely car lover and car collector 👏🏼
Enthusiasm scale of 1 to 100 ,this guy and Jay are absolute 100,s
this dude seems cool as hell
This guy says a 240Z is too expensive then immediately turns around and starts talking about his Bugatti’s??
You have to remember that 240Z has a much higher nostalgia and classical value than the Bugatti.
Definitely has the money to, but it's probably due to 240Z in good condition and unmodified is rarer than a Chiron/Divo these days
Value vs. price.
Self-made rich people think differently.
It is way too expensive in Malaysia
