@@FixItWithJon I have recently acquired both the VFR 800 vtec in January and and a new Sargent saddle for my motorcycle this week , so it's great that there are youtubers around who post videos that show what to do even if it seems to be self explanatory

I have this problem with my 2008 VFR 800. I have an original seat but ever since I got my bike back from the mechanics who did a service on the bike, I can no longer get the seat back in to place. I’ve had it off many times before but now I just can’t get it back again. It’s so frustrating because it mused to be quite easy but now I have no idea how to get it there. It’s like I get the front to line up properly, but the back plastic pieces on the sides interfere with the lugs on the back. I can slide it in there. I’ve tried so many times and I cannot understand why it doesn’t fit when I had no issue with it before. The mechanic also said he couldn’t put the saddle back, which made me question what they had done to it, because if an experienced Honda mechanic couldn’t do it, how could I evert get it back into place?

@Stoxoz Sounds like either your frame or seat have become deformed in some way at some point. I would try using a straight edge (like a spirit level) to check for uniformity of the lugs on both the seat and the frame. With respect to your mechanic - if they can't figure it out - sounds like you might want to consider using a new mechanic.. Hope that makes sense? Let me know how you get on? Many thanks, Jon

@@FixItWithJon I hear you, but I can’t see when it has become damaged. I left it in good condition with the seat perfectly fitted. The only thing that could’ve happened must have happened at the workshop, but that seems highly unlikely. How do you mean a spirit level would work for me? As it is right now it’s just that the lugs are too far back, if that makes sense?
Maybe a stupid question, but are the lugs necessary to have the seat remain in place? Could I alter them in any way?

@@Stoxoz Ah I see, I thought the lugs were misaligned.. It sounds very odd - almost would be easier if I could take a look - whereabouts are you? I'm in Surrey, UK but regularly travel around the southeast.. Might be an opportunity for another video..

@@FixItWithJon That’s very kind of you! I’m afraid it’ll be hard for you to help me, since I’m in Sweden. I don’t think I have the money to fly over a personal mechanic from the UK 🤣 But I will try to post a video where I show my problem. Maybe then you can see a bit easier what bothers me.
