I would had greatly preferred the 2in1 feature in the smaller xps 13, the 1080p webcam, and a better port selection (2 usb c tb4 port and 2 usb A would be awesome). For the 'buttons' on the pad really don't like it... What asus did with its numpad on the s13 oled is a way better solution than some buttons specific for a single software.
The only gripe I may have is that mine came with a PCI-E x 3 SSD not the better PCI-e 4 x 4. However I am not complaining at the speeds, it handles all with ease, later might upgrade to PCI-e 4 speed M.2 2330 .
I still have my xps 13 9350 going strong as a backup, six years old still humming along after 3 battery replacements has gen 6 intel i7 cpu, the battery life really sucked on this model.
I have the 9430 2 in 1 which gets really good battery life i5 model with touch, disappointed that given the weight of the 9440 of 1.5kg, my 9430 is 1.4kg has the extra USB-A port, micro sd card reader and HDMI port I think I got a better deal if you ask me.
I'm always use TWS for meeting and listening to music, but I need USB 3.2 type A for Mouse dongle.. because bluetooth connection still laggy for some reason during coding and debuging 😔
what are the edges and hand rest like? Got the 9430 for a field test laptop for work and it has been great, the only real complaint I have is that the edges are very sharp and dig into your wrists if your working on it for long time. Wondered if this version might have them a bit more rounded at all? Also are you hoping on getting in the new precision 5480?
***UPDATE*** Pen Support works great for taking notes and sketching out artwork. I will demonstrate in the upcoming review.
I love these somewhat subtle Dell models. I really wish Dell would shift to Dolby or DTS for the audio instead of Waves maxxaudio pro.
It's not bad, but a tier below Dolby Atmos. Same for HP Dynamic Audio.

Agreed. Biggest weakness is the ports. Seems like a manager laptop, and not for consulting/sales workers.

I do expect the 5480 soon. The edges are on the sharp side as well.
