As a chef, NEVER BECOME A CHEF.
It's not worth it. I work 60-70 hours atleast every week and will be for the rest of my life. Culinary school is good for learning the mentality and getting familiar with the techniques and ingredients but otherwise a useless piece of paper.
I graduated from culinary but have never used the certificate ever in my life and the best chefs i have worked with have just learned everything on the job.
You're gonna have to start smoking, buy expensive knives and sharpen them every week, get familiar with 5 hours of sleep a day, relationships will get strained and most line cooks are a bit depressed at all times in the kitchen.
All that blood and sweat to make 50-70k a year. It's a scam kids. Stay in school, become a doctor or something.
