    That's always a great feeling everytime you see more thread coming out! It never gets old!

    Weld a nut on and while it's glowing hot take a candle and keep melting on it and wax gets sucked in and comes out awesome I use it often

    Kenny, weld a washer first on the stud before welding the nut to the stud. This will give you more contact surface on the stud. Instead of a MIG, I use ceramic coated stick rods to protect the aluminum threads if the stud is broken inside the head.

      Thank you for the info !! I certainly don't claim to be a welder . I know enough to get myself in trouble lol 😆. I appreciate the input !! I learn something new everyday !!

      @@jamescaneda9515 , I'm absolutely serious when I say I learn something new everyday. I learned this trick from a coworker that I absolutely couldn't stand . I learn the most from the young people that come into the industry . I believe it's a fresh perspective that enlightens me !! Thanks for watching and for your feedback !!

    And that is why I'm about to invest in a welding setup . I work for a company that does military ship repair. We have a welding department. One of the guys from my home state is going to help me get started and and show me how to weld . Just need to weld here and thier for automotive purpose and around the house .

    A trick I have learned to get manifolds out.
    Loosen a bolt off and then give it some penetrating oil, then tighten them back up to torque spec, do every bolt like this and then start to take them out.
    When you take bolts out one by one the manifold will bend slightly and put pressure on the last few bolts making them impossible to get out.

    Good video…just curious was the ground clamp for the welder connected to the aluminum head, or the block? Does it even matter what material it is clamped to as long as it is close to the welding area?

    Weld a flat washer first to flush broke bolts, then nut to flat washer, ditch the mig, invest in heli-arc

    What is the number cast on the right cylinder head? Which number was stamped on the heads that were known for cracking?

    • @WrenchingWithKenny
      @WrenchingWithKenny  2 года назад +2

      These are 862 heads which were the replacement for the earlier 706 heads . The 706 heads had some issues with cracking supposedly, but ive honestly never seen one crack . Thanks for watching !!
