silencing a noisy model locomotive

- A few weeks ago I re-motored my freelance locomotive no. 17 William Wallace. This model has an ancient Arnold mechanism and began running erratically. The new motor improved the running, but it remained very noisy. I traced the cause to the knuckle clutch between the motor and the worm shaft. Yesterday I put a little silicone sealant into the clutch, which reduced the noise considerably. Note that the motor and worm shafts need to be aligned exactly to prevent binding.
An elegant solution. Well done
A rubber sleeve would transmit quietly and still have a little leeway for misalignment. But you've got a good result anyway. !
