He is a ton of fun to play in MvC3, too, but man I wish he could have been in a game with MvC2 Jill to have a proper Chris and Jill vs Wesker showdown
It'd honestly be really cool if any future hypothetical Capcom crossover fighters pluck a character from each main era of RE. Like Nemesis or MvC2 Jill for the original trilogy, Chris or Wesker for the action entries, and like, Jack Baker or Lady Dimitrescu for 7 & 8. Would be a really cool way to pay homage to the series as a whole.
The sheer tonal shift between Wesker talking about doing experiments on Rocket only for him to reply with "So... Is Raccoon City, like... full of raccoons?"
As a big Resident Evil fan. When Wesker was revealed for MvC3, I was really hyped up. I thought Chris was going to be the only RE rep for that game at the time, Having 4 Resi reps was nuts by the time Ultimate came
Wesker was always interesting to me for how simple he on the gameplay side, admittedly i did always want to learn him for his assist cause alot of characters i liked playing got better with his otg assist.

RE is a lot of different things, so that's a little tricky to answer, but I'll try: - The remake of the first RE game has a great HD port. The game has fixed camera angles and tank controls, though there's a more modern analog control option if the default controls aren't to your liking. It's a phenomenal game. - Resident Evil 4 is more action game than horror, but it's an outstanding game with near perfect pacing. The game takes itself even less serious than previous entries, but it's tongue in cheek, as always. Either the original game or the remake is worth experiencing (both are on modern platforms) - Resident Evil 2's remake is similarly outstanding. It uses Resident Evil 4's camera perspective, but is structured more like the original games in terms of level design and resource management. It's _way_ more horror oriented and definitely worth experiencing at least once. - Resident Evil 7 is first person, but also has a renewed focus on horror; It's very distinctly inspired by The Texas Chainsaw Massacre if that paints a better picture of what it is. It's a great game that falls off a bit by the end, but the opening hours are some of the best in the series. My personal recommendation I think for an absolute newcomer would be to start with the RE2 remake to see if you even like the series, then try the other games from there.
Can someone explain to me why people find Wesker voice acting in RE 5 good because to me I’ve always found it to be hilariously bad because D.C. Douglas’s inflection sounds more arrogant than evil I mean it makes the ”Jason” scene off Heavy Rain look like Oscar material. Heck even Joel Vargeskeletor made fun of Wesker’s voice in his Super Mario Land 2 stream.
I mean, it sounds arrogant because he _is_ arrogant. I don't think anyone's saying it's an award winning performance or anything, but it's a delightfully over the top performance in a suitably over the top game. Part of RE's charm has always been the cheese and Wesker's performance in particular is a good reminder that for as grim as some aspects of the game are, this is still a videogame involving a guy that looks straight out of The Matrix chewing the scenery and spouting hilariously awful comic book villain dialogue the whole way through. Frankly, I'd have been more disappointed if the voice direction for him was more subdued.
@@TheSeventhForce If Capcom’s intent was to make his voice hilariously over the top they absolutely nailed it because every time I hear his voice in MVC 3 I can’t help but to not take it seriously because of how over the top it is it just I find it kind of weird that there people out there who genuinely find Wesker’s voice acting gripping because like you said the who Appeal of the RE series is it’s cheesy B movie feel.
@@TheSeventhForce Personally speaking I would rather see SEGA make another crossover game with their characters again because SEGA has dabbled in crossovers before with the SEGA All Stars series and their characters appearing in the Project X Zone series. Windfall = Sousoukyaku (葬送脚, Funeral Leg)
Panther Fang = Heishin Shouda (平進掌打, Flat Advancing Palm Strike)
Samurai Edge shots:
Horizontal Fire = Suihei (水平, Horizontal-Level/Water-Flat)
Lower Shot = Kahou (下方, Downward)
Anti-Surface = Kuuchuu (空中, Midair)
Tiger Uppercut = Shoukou Shouda (昇甲掌打, Rising Shell Palm Strike)
Ram Horn = Dan'eichuu (断影肘, Severing Shadow Elbow)
Cobra Strike = Senhou Shouda (先崩掌打, Fore-Crumbling Palm Strike)
Ghost Butterfly = Hasai Sougoushou (覇砕双剛掌, Supreme Smash Twin Strong Palms)
Jaguar Dash was originally Collide; both were named Jinsoku Idou (迅速移動, Swift Speed Movement)
Jaguar Kick was originally Knee Cannon, named in Japanese in both RE5 and MvC3 as Gouhou Shitsu (轟砲膝, Booming Cannon Knee)
Adon's Jaguar Kick in the clip you've shown of him isn't seen; it's actually his forward somersaulting heel drop. The rising knee for Adon is actually named Rising Jaguar.
OG Jaguar Kick in RE5/BH5 = Hairyuukyaku (背流脚, Stature Flowing Leg)
Phantom Move = Kousoku Honshin (高速翻身, High-Speed Flip-Over)
Mustang Kick = Moushoukyaku (猛衝脚, Fierce Piercing Leg)
Phantom Dance = Sajunkei (鎖巡型, Chained Rounds Model)
Rhino Charge = Gokutotsu (獄突, Prison Thrust)
Lost in Nightmares = Renkan Satsu (連環殺, Linkage Killing)
