The mistakes are so refreshing to see. i make mistakes so much when i solo. its comforting to know im not the only one. And hey if at the end of the game if i still had fun why be picky about it.
You are definitely not the only one! I try really really hard to avoid mistakes in my videos and I always have a few. When I play solo off camera I don't try nearly as hard to avoid them. It is all about fun, like you said, and you can't let rules get in the way of the fun. This video was just one of those days where it all goes wrong. I think it is important to embrace those days, because that is part of the hobby. I mean everyone has a story about that one rule they have played wrong for years and then discovered the truth. I think these warts only add to the beauty of board gaming. Thanks so much for your kind words, Bagel Teeth!
It is a good one. I haven't played many of the games of this style, but I want to try them and compare. I like how this one works. It nails the feel and I enjoy the look. Quick and in a small package. Great game! Thanks, Nicholas!
🤣🤣 I almost did a spit take reading that one. You can really tell I used to be a writer, right? 🤣 This was all just sheer panic after realizing I'd made a dozen separate mistakes. Thanks for sticking with it.
Yeah I like this (and your other) playthroughs. You've got a cool channel! Great way to deal with the mistakes :) I also make loads of mistakes when playing mini rogue. I think this game has way too many different icons and little rules that are just not very intuitive and easy to forget or misinterpret while playing. I would love to see a revised 2nd edition where some of these little rules/icons are thrown out and additional monster/room/npc cards are included.
Ive never seen a solo card game before. I thought it was going to be lame, but im only a third of the way through the video -- and ive already bought the game
Yeah, solo card games are great! Not all are as exciting to watch, but many are great to play. I've made videos of a bunch -- For Northwood, all the Button Shy games like ROVE, Sprawlopolis, and The Last Lighthouse. Tin Realm is another great small dungeon crawl card game that you might enjoy and I've made a full solo playthrough video. Thanks so much for watching!
@@TotallyTabled oh dang. I'll have to check out your other videos, then. I liked your commentary and editing in this one. It kept me engaged throughout the playthrough, which is saying a lot for people with tiktok brain like me
@@FabiansLab Thanks! I hope you enjoy some of the other videos on the channel. They are pretty much the opposite of tiktoks, but you can always fast forward! :)
Omg. Rhis is one if my absolute favorite games and watching this playthrough is a HOOT! Thanks for giving this gem a good video. Woild have loved this quality when i started playing it. The icons really took some time ro internatize.
Came here to learn how to play when i opened it up and didn't want to decifer the rules to understand all those icon, this was super easy to follow and then i went straight into a play thank you!
I have been binge watching your videos lately, they are extremely enjoyable and well made. Your channel is simply amazing. If I could recommend an ideia for playthrough, it would be Spirit Island, I would love to see one video of this game with your quality of work.
Thank you so much, Paulo. That is very kind of you to say and I'm glad you have been enjoying the channel. I really appreciate you binge watching the content! The all mighty Algorithm loves that behavior and it really helps the channel grow. I put off filming playthroughs of really popular solo games like Spirit Island, Mage Knight and Marvel Champions for one reason: I didn't feel I had much to add since they had been covered by people who are experts at the game. I thought, who wants to see me fail on the beginner level of Spirit Island? Well, I've heard from several people like yourself that say they would like to see it. I'm very humbled by that sentiment. This is a very long-winded way to say I am going to start to make some videos for beginners about Mage Knight and then Spirit Island. Soon. Thanks for the encouragement and thanks for supporting the channel!
Thank you for the video, just got Mini Rogue for Christmas, we tried to understand the rules for an hour of gameplay, but we still got something wrong. Now I am confident that next time we will play it the right way.
I'm happy to hear the video helped. At the very least you can avoid the many mistakes I made. :) Hope you enjoy the game and thanks so much for watching!
Nice one Shaggi, I love me some Mini Rogue. Here's hoping Mr. Time and Mini do a collab appearance in a future video. Assuming you make future rules goofs of course... 😂
Mr. Time definitely needs to make an appearance. But who knows when I'll make another mistake. Could be years. Thanks for watching the playthrough and putting up with my breakdown. 🤪
Whenever you rolled a 6 in combat, you automatically just rerolled. You don't have to, correct? If you would have rerolled an x wouldn't you have lost the entire attack value for that combat?
I like Mini Rogue much better. I need to play more of these small solo dungeon crawlers before I declare favorites, but I have fun with this one. Thanks, Kenny!
Shagie, you made me laugh and that takes a lot right now 👏👏👏 Looks like a fun game however, with me mistakes will outnumber yours a hundred times 😂 BTW: What is the game without the expansion, please ? Thanks. AAKR.
I'm glad you enjoyed my mistakes 😀. The expansion stuff is basically just the lore deck where I met the gelatinous cube and a few new room cards, like the cursed relic. It is not necessary at all. It just adds more variety and flavor. Thanks, Apollonia!
I think I can play this on a lap tray and will order the basic game. The gelatinous cube and extra rooms will have to go....methinks,I shall be in enough trouble 😂 Again, thank you Shagie. AAKR.

The alternative story telling from the mistakes is good drama. :) I need to pull this off my shelf and play it again.

Amazing.
Good relatable characters, writing, progression, lore !
Oh, and the game is good too.

Awesome. I'm so happy you enjoyed the video. That one went a bit off the rails. 😁 Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy the game!
Great playthrough/tutorial! Subscribed for sure. You're right up there with that Rodney guy from watch it played
That is the highest praise, thank you TavernCat! I appreciate the sub! I hope you enjoy the channel.

@@TotallyTabled I loved how Mini changed tone over the course of the rules interjections, cracked me up. Love your work Shaggi 😂
The monster card at 23:39 says that in the first floor it has 6 life and does 2 damaged but what does the heart with the 1 inside means?
I believe that means it heals itself by one. Thanks for watching!
I think at 35:16 you only get the +1 armour after you’ve defeated the monster.
This seems so fun
It is! I really enjoy it and it comes in a nice small package. Highly recommended from me. Thanks for watching!
I had no idea that if your xp is maxed out it converts to health 🙈
This game is so good. If anyone wants to try it, the original PnP microgame version is still free and is just as good(just less content, obviously).
That's great info. Thanks for sharing. I totally agree with you. This is a ton of fun. Thanks Bob!

This feels like one deck dungeon!

One Deck Dungeon was one of my first solo games and I also prefer this. The resource management aspect adds so much.
@@BobLee-df4zh I need to play more solo dungeon crawls, but so far this is my favorite quick one. It really captures that roguelike feel for me.
Right I think this one will come back onto Kickstarter later, will keep an eye!
I still liked your playthrough. We all make mistakes sometimes. Look at me when I play Nemesis lol. There's so much rules.
Which mistakes? I didn't make any mistakes. 😂 100% flawless playthrough as always. Thanks, PhoenixSlayer.
