    Way Out West (1937)
    Directed: James W. Horne
A prospector enlists Stan and Ollie to deliver the deed to his daughter Mary. When they arrive in the small village and enter the local saloon, Mary's witch guardian pretends to be Mary, thus fooling the hapless duo into handing over the deed. Upon meeting the real Mary, the pair realizes their mistake and sets about getting the deed into the rightful owner's hands.

The quartet is the Avalon Boys. The bass is Chill Wills, who later became a character actor in westerns.

In 2018 a movie was released about L and H called Stan and Ollie starring Steve Coogan as Stan, and John C. Reilly as Ollie, about their last years together touring in England [they compartmentalized those years into a last tour], some of the script is fictionalized [they never had major arguments or disagreements say the relatives and heirs]. But it is a beautiful film, the actors perfectly replicate the dance from Way Out West, and the bar rom song "On the Trail of the Lonesome Pine." And several well known skits from their movies. This film will make you want to both cry and stand up and cheer. It was Stan who wrote much of their film shorts and features when it came to the gags and funny things to say. Stan and Ollie movie is highly recommended in my book. They were immensely popular in their day throughout the entire world. the went from silent movies to talkies flawlessly. Laurel was once an understudy for Charlie Chaplin went on a vaudeville touring compnay toured the USA, long before Chaplin became a star.

I think the parts where they were wrestling for the deed were the funniest. I also love the musical numbers. This is my favorite Laurel and Hardy movie. They occasionally showed us movies in junior high in the auditiorium (maybe it was a cafeteria, I don't know), and this was one of them.

James Finlayson, the Scottish actor, with mustache and funny double takes [in the top hat], could be considered a third member of Laurel and Hardy team, he did so many film shorts and pictures with them

just love the dance scene in this film. but my favorite laurel and hardy films are their shorts; even their silent shorts. two other GREAT western paradies of the period are the marx brothers' "go west" (1940) and "destry rides again" (1939) starring james stewart and marlene dietrich. madeline kahn's role in 'blazing saddles" is based upon dietrich's role in that film.
so glad to see others enjoy these historic films. our history must be remembered and truly appreciated. thanks for the upoload.

A lotta fun, classic dance scene, and the kickin' up dust at the end was hilarious! lol....I must say (as what happens with reactors pretty often), make sure that both (you AND the video) can clearly be heard. I would guess, if your voice volume sounded like a (9 outta 10), then then video's volume sounded like a (3 outta 10)....see what I mean? Anyway, other than (volume stuff) it was a "Good reaction!"

In terms of old times comedy, they are 2nd only to the Marx Brothers! 3rd would be the Little Rascals.

They were the 1st comedy team before all of them. From the mid 1920's - early 1940's they were the top. Comedians from the 1950's-60's grew up on them

Laurel and Hardy were Loved all over the world. Whether Black, White, Red, or Brown. Different Religions or Creeds. They belong to the whole world and the whole world loves them. If they were alive today they wouldn't need passports. They would instantly allowed to enter any country in the world without one. Such was their fame!
