- A custom order for Lofty Pursuits and a challenge. We succeeded on our second try. We put a Calla Lilly in a piece of blackberry flavored candy. This is good, since eating the Calla Lilly itself would be a bad idea, it's a toxic flower.
this dude is as NICE as he sounds. it was a pleasure shopping there
James Hunnicutt now i want to visit him!!! When I get the chance to go to Tallahassee, this will be my number 1 destination.
You seem so passionate and kind and fun to talk to. You remind me a bit of Chef Gusteau from Ratatouille. I really enjoy your views, they are very cool and relaxing. Thanks for making them!
The little graphic in the top left corner of what you're putting down is very helpful to visualize just what you are doing. I sometimes worry that watching you make candy will get old, but then every time you seem to keep my interest. I think you'll be at 1M subscribers in no time.
I personally like longer videos. Gotta love the process
I love the longer videos especially with great narration
you should make candy canes... with the image of a candy cane on the inside.
no one would see it, you say? I beg to differ! I break off bits of the candy cane as i eat it, cause i don't like having to hold the thing or have it hanging from my mouth while I suck on it! It would make for an awesome surprise with candy canes! (it does kind of ruin the whole, stuffing the trim into the butt of the candy roll thing, but it would totally be worth it!)
I like you showing the the image as put the colors together it helps to see how the image comes together
I try to do it when I can. It's time consuming. Thank you.
It's so fascinating to me that the basic idea of how to make the candy is always the same, but yet each batch is different.
love this! purple calla lilies were my wedding flowers 11yrs ago
Greg, please make longer videos.
Yes, your voice it quite soothing, but
I just enjoy your creativity.
steev
Dude ur like the bob Ross of candy 🍭
Now to make happy tree candy.
that's actually a really lovely idea, a pine tree image candy with, perhaps, woodruff flavoring.
Lofty Pursuits pine flavoured?
I was just thinking this and then I see this comment.
Lol spot on
Greg and everyone at Lofty Pursuits, I just love these videos. It's so fun to see you make such cool and yummy art! Thank you for sharing.
The longer videos are very enjoyable and, after seeing the majority of your videos, I am still glued to the screen to watch. The addition of the image you were building and what steps were/weren't done was also very engaging. Hope you do more like this.
Very endearing and comforting guy!
I LOVE watching your videos! My maternal Grandmother was a renowned cook and my Mom was pretty talented as well, I think I inherited their interests in cooking, baking, etc.. I find your videos NOT ONLY INCREDIBLY ENTERTAINING AND RELAXING, but educating as well. I must say, though, listening to you talk is like listening to one of the best public speakers, you add in little anecdotes at the perfect times and you speak at a good pace and speak clearly. Please continue making plenty of videos, my Autistic son enjoys your videos as much as I do and we often watch a video of yours before bed at night, such a relaxing and enjoyable experience, thank you and God bless! 😊
Love the long videos.. they are all great but I love the long ones better..something relaxing bout it
Not only do I enjoy watching the candy making process, but I find your voice so soothing. Thanks for making these videos.
I prefer the longer videos. In combination with your voice it is just perfectly relaxing. in combination with this nice smooth music. perfect. :D Please keep making them abit longer and smooth as always.
That was really amazing. I didn't even think you could do something that complex. You really are a candy artist.
Lofty Pursuits, these videos, whether they're this long or a little shorter, are such a gift!! I just finished up my last semester of college and watched your videos almost DAILY to get through this very tough race to the finish. The lovely music and great stories & information and wonderful craftsmanship just put me in a good mood, pumped and raring to go to work on my own craft and make more people happy! I hope so much to come see y'all in person (and you're way up there on my dream clients list for my illustration freelancing :) ) .
I used to be a fairly high end commercial illustrator, so I do appreciate the fun of designing for a business like mine/.
I liked this. very informative. The length was not bad thanks to your narrative and sharing of information.
your videos are absolutely GREAT i watch them everyday before bed i hope you can make more!!
Easily the most wholesome man on youtube.
Love the real time videos! I'm a young aspiring candy maker and this was very educational.
I love this longer video format and wouldn't mind your videos to be even longer :)
It amazes me how you guys do this. I could never even think of how to place the candy...
You're getting much better at the music/narration volume balance - not too loud, not too soft. 👍🏻 much less distracting from the actual candy-making.
Also LOVE the "mapping" shown for the designs as you work that you've been adding!
+shhhhyeahright Thank you. The audio issue us apparently I have much better speakers than most people have on their computer and everyone has on their cellphone. I now mix with a $3 pair of earbuds from Walgreens.
Lofty Pursuits Ah, mobile life. 😄
This one is so complex!!! I’m super impressed that your brain can figure this out.
this is my favorite style of video. Good job Greg.
Greg, you have such a pleasant speaking voice! I love your voice over on these videos, as well as your explanations, anecdote, stories and occasional poetry! oh, and your candies are absolutely breathtaking! beautiful edible art! keep up the nice work! you've got a fan in New York!
💛🍬💙🍬💜🍬💚🍬❤
Just like with Tom Lehrer's music, I'm more than thrilled to have a longer Lofty Pursuits video! :)
I love longer videos too! They're so relaxing.
You guys make me so happy. Our last order was exciting!
I really enjoyed the longer video. I made my first order last week on your web site. I can't wait to taste your handiwork. Keep up the great work!
i have been watching your videos the last few days, I'm a new viewer. And i love love love the long videos. Its so relaxing watching you create such beautiful candy and your voice is so calming. Please never stop making your videos. i can't wait to order some candy!!
I love learning so much from you.... more than candy. Thank you.
Love this channel can watch Sweet's being made and get a history lesson the same time.. thanks Greg good video's👍👍👍
I absolutely love your videos, mostly because of your enthusiasm for the art of candy making and putting smiles on people's faces. I also enjoy the fact that you care about history so much.
i love watching your videos, especially this one since calla lillies are my favorite flower. Congratulations on hitting 100,000 followers!
i love the longer version. just more of a good thing..music was great too.
Those are so detailed it's amazing! Also I LOVE the giant fiberglass banana. Keep up the awesome work
I've had many hobbies over the years but this and glass blowing have to be my dream hobbies. I'm hoping to make some hard candy for my birthday this year.
I enjoyed the longer video, thank you!
Also the images in the candies turned out so well- you can tell that you're experienced with how you manipulate the temperatures and heat transfer to your advantage, and that's pretty freaking awesome.
I just got my order from you guys recently. Worth the wait. The blackberry flavor is amazing.
I love these videos. They are so calming and informative. I love seeing how it's made, all the care that goes into it. I can tell Mr. Greg loves his Career. It's not often (in my social circles) for someone to truly love their Career/Job, and I love to see someone taking Pride in what they do. THANK YOU Greg and Lofty Pursuits.
Greg, you should make a couple videos showing your Breakfast/Brunch items.
Beautiful calla lilies. I love that flower. I always use that flower when I'm trying to get people to spell my name right. People love to add a second L in the middle of my name so I tell them that it's Lily like calla lily. 🤗
So good to hear about the NYbotanical gardens . Coming from Hawaii , there was an O’keef exhibition (for her Hawaii paintings) and the designer I work with was invited to represent Hawaii fashion designs there in front of the botanical atrium. Your mention of the NYBG brought back memories of this beautiful place! Thank you
I love the slower video! My kids were so excited to see the longer one too. We love watching your channel. Hopefully one day we'll make it to your store.
I looooove the look of the candy it's so pretty! I wish I could go to Florida but I'm all the way in Canada.
Bravo! Such a lovely flower! Thank you for sharing your art with us.
You are truly an artist
Oh, this is such an interesting design! I wish I could come to your store, but it's a bit of a long trip from Sweden. You show just how candymaking is both an art and a science, and explaining it very well indeed! I love the calla lilies in the candy, they just look beautiful.
Yes, but I bet a trip to Florida in January would be welcome.
I love the longer videos. I find Greg's voice so soothing and the whole video fascinating. I like hearing about the whys and hows, the dos and don'ts. Please do more longer videos in the future. :D
A satisfying video. Its great to see the candy come together from so many pieces.
love the longer videos, it's great to see all the details that go into it
Those look amazing! Time and time again, I'm amazed at this form of art. You really are an artist! A candy artist :)
Who remembers thos strawberry candies that our grandparents always had but now I can't find
Dollar Tree! You're welcome.
I’ve been thinking about those this ENTIRE video.
Me!!
As has been said Calla Lilly seems to have collected many meaning over the years: beauty, rebirth, holiness, faithful... Also, it's a great symbol for a wedding; since it also symbolizes the joy of marriage. But one of my favorites is its use at Easter to represent Jesus’ Resurrection; somehow tying all these meanings together.
This is fascinating! I love the longer videos! I just got my latest order today. I love love your guys' candy and my Play Buttons were so cute!!!! Thanks so much for the fantastic service.
Thank you.
It's so relaxing to watch you make candy, and I just order some so I can't wait to try it. Btw I love the banana decoration in the back
I'm loving the longer video!
Best wishes tithe bride & groom and of course many wonderful candies.
"To the"
I wish i knew about you guys before I moved away from Florida..
Watching this video while enjoying my watermelon and button candy that came in the mail today. Pure satisfaction.
I really love these longer videos, something so relaxing about it.
Also, I NEED a giant fiberglass banana in my room. Although it might scare my cat.
Great video! I love that it's longer. Could you include a picture of the candy when it didn't work? That process of trial and error is so fascinating.
Someday, maybe next summer, I'm gonna drive up all the way from Mississippi to see you guys!
I love you longer videos.
That is amazing!! You have a real talent!
Are you able to do a full video of your making the candy from start to finish, no cuts.
I find myself watching these videos over and over and over again it's just relaxing. The only thing I'm missing is the candy itself I seem to have run out I need to buy more. I was wondering Greg if you've ever tried to put a face in the candy ? On various videos and on the website there is a portrait of you near the cooling table and I was just curious if it's possible to put your portrait in the candy 🍭
+Mike Garofalo I've wondered that myself. I think I could put a caricature in candy but I'm not sure how good it would be. I thought I could do more of an impressionist piece but it would take a little planning no make that a lot of planning
Do you ever make marbled candy? That was beautiful when were mixing the white and purple.
Yes, longer videos are greatly appreciated 👍
don't change a thing love the longer videos love all the info too
I ordered your RUclips button candy and I am anxiously waiting for it to arrive here in northern Michigan!
+SupremeChii The rest of the outstanding orders should ship on Tuesday with the candy we made over the weekend.
Love the music choices for today! And I love seeing craftsmen, like yourself, challenging themselves in an already very challenging craft. I do have a question though, what do you do with your extra candy that you don't use in a design or the wrap, like the yellow in this one?
Side note: Thank you for putting the design in the top left of the screen and highlighting which part of the design you are doing. It was very helpful in understanding how you made the calla lilly.
Se sell the lumps of extra candy as scrap under the name "Unicorn Droppings" in the store.
Great video 8) awesome narration
I dig the longer video. Keep it up!!!
these turned out very beautiful!
im hooked!!! love your videos!!!
thank you I love the longer videos!!
I enjoyed the longer video. If you made a video that was the full 40 minutes I would probably watch the whole thing. But I might be in a minority.
+Illumas rarely do I get enough usable footage as I did this time.
+Lofty Pursuits I understand, getting good footage can be difficult. The flowers were beautiful by the way.
love the longer video. It's fascinating
Keep doing the longer videos, hope se day I can go and watch this live
I love the longer video's, they are more fun to me
Have you been to the ohr O'Keefe museum in Biloxi?
i wouldn't want ALL of the candy making videos to be like this, but this was a nice change of pace. i'd like to see another real time candy video someday.
the longer videos are awesome
finally got my order after your normal delays + hurricane irma, DAMN that's good candy
+sugallama Thank you.
Loved the longer video!
I’d kinda like to see a batch that doesn’t work out. I’m curious to see how Greg troubleshoots!
The longer videos are the best!
Great video! I love your channel
I've been wondering what is the version of the song "You rascal you" you're using in your videos? I couldn't find it any where!!
When you went to the candy hook i saw the banana first , and i honestly thought for a second you were going to pull the candy on it!
Love! The longer video!
I love your jazz music
+Amber Gerrard Most of the music I use is actually jump blues, that is a subset of swing.
People say Morgan Freeman is the best narrator but if my lifestory is read out loud, I would prefer if you would do it!!
i just want to take a bit of the candy when its like playdough i bet it delicous and feel amazing
that banana is huge. love the long videos
I enjoyed this a lot
