wow! you made this very understandable. I am looking to become an owner operator and I know starting off will need to utilize the load boards to help build relationships at shippers etc. (company driver now so will be working on those as time comes closer for me to get my own truck/authority) currently researching power only which seems to be popular starting off, to truck and trailer, and the incomes that each produce. @@microlithic8354 it’s for Dispatcher, but after speaking with FMSCA. I updated to Broker because I’m not a FF.
@@carolburns3698 from my understanding, a legal independent dispatcher falls under broker... I was wondering what you applied for, because in the video it is stated that the independent dispatcher is considered part of a carrier.

DO YOU USE SOME FORMULA TO GET ON TIME TO DESTINATION? or how to calculate miles combine with time? STRESS FREE FOR DRIVERS.
Two questions:
1. Why do we have to negotiate with the Broker if the rate already gives an amount like the $5400 shown on the video (59:00)
2. When you say the Carrier is available for M,T,W to go to California is that because they just decided to take that route? I ask because I am thinking they would only be available to go where a load is available

How would insurance certificates work? If you are an independent dispatcher do you need to have owner operators join under your LLC? and what is considered double brokering? I’m very new to this I don’t know about all the legality side of the business.

Hello, I don't know if you've answered this question already, but is just having an LLC proof enough to call yourself a dispatching company? For example, I wanted to start a trucking company and got my LLC and named the company...let's jusy say, "Blah Blah Transportation " but for various reasons it has stalled on me. I still have the LLC but no trucking company. I've decided to take a different path, namely this one (dispatching). I want to keep the name because you never know...the future might still bring a tractor to me. Can this LLC be considered "legit" since I don't have an MC# for myself?
When you calculate how much are they paying per mile do we need to add DHO and DHD empty miles as well?
got a good question... do you need a laptop computer to go with you or do you use your phone to book another load once you complete delivering a previous load? how does that work?? and because your out and about your going to need a computer wifi stick for your laptop right?? or do you guys use your phone to do all the booking of the loads?

I have few question, That's only for trailers ? what about containers from the port ? do we use the same website ? i'm asking because i'm a truck dispatch, i been doing this for few years but only working for companies never been an independent dispatch , they provide everything but i only been dispatching loads from the port, port to port, i don't have much experience on trailers.
if i want to become a independent truck dispatch is better if you work with trailers yard to yard or there's carries or owners operator that have loads from the port ? also is better if you dispatch loads out of state or i can stay local ?

I have a question about owner/operator leasing to a company. I have 160K saved in my 401K and I want to use it to buy a fleet right out of school with no authority. My school wants to sell me a truck with 400K mi, Cummins engine, for around 42K with 30% down. They also are giving me a contract with a company to run a NY to OH & back lane; 3 loads = $4750 gross/week. I want to buy 3 trucks instead of 1, lease them to the same company and do teaming in all of them. I have no wife, kids, etc. Maybe OTR would be better for my situation?

specially to everyone who had experiece in dispatch field and running their bussines i have a question .
i and my brother have good command over truck dispatching and well experiece of everything , we have a plan to start our own bussines which we both will run ..but on the other hand i have job offer of 150k ..
what would you suggest me to do?
1. leave job offer and go ahead to start doing this bussines as full time occupation?
2.start my job and let my brother to run bussines and once he stable i should join him later after 3 4 months?
3. doing this as a bussines and leaving offer of job is not a good options ?
4. i am really very confused about it please brothers help me out to give me a right direction based on your experience ..i shall be very thankful for your kind opinion

My dat loadboard doesn't work alot of times, I loose about 50k a year

I suspect some broker companies have a new program that hacks trucking companies loadboard and filter it so truckers can only see their cheap loads! It's illegal programming hacking. If I open a new account it's good for a little while soon as a broker gets my ip address and reprogramms my dat loadbard

You go very in-depth on the things that need to be taught, and you skip over the BS stuff, thank you so much and congratulations for that.. and I will call you probably the first of next week as I'm getting very close to pulling the trigger to start the course and yours is the one I want it. You do not need to own trucks to be an independent freight dispatcher, and honestly that's the beauty of it; you don't own any assets.

Hi, I’m interested in knowing, if I would not become a carrier than all the owner operators that would want my dispatch service they would need they’re own mc or dot number and trailer and plates and all other things. I drove for a dispatcher for a little and his company name was in my truck. Basically I leased my truck on to his company. This sound like I wouldn’t have to open a trucking llc or Corp.

I'm trying to pay for the Dispatcher-Carrier agreement but it's saying "This school is not open for enrollment". I'm and want to go all in, I have an LLC already being made and will be ready in a couple of days, need this contract agreement though. DAT soon. I have a lot of questions about some of your videos or things i didn't fully understand.
Kamal, when we use the DAT Power link we need to have our LLC documents before we can start using the board as dispatchers, correct?

This is not the time to get into the trucking business. I have been doing this for 15 years, and I have three trucks. I parked two, and I'm running one. All the trucks are paid for, and I'm having difficult time to make the living with the rates of the freights. be cautious for your own sake.
