Dr. Gundry, what are you snacking on? I want some!
1- Alaskan salmon, frozen is my go to fish! Thank you, Costco!
2- Canned sardines on my arugula salad is my go-to, packed in water (preferred) or olive oil only (not soy oil)
3- Canned tuna is OK if low mercury….Albacore canned, good to know. I have been avoiding tuna recently
4- Goat cheese with the sardine arugula salad, yummmm. Didn’t know about the logs not being fermented. Prefer fermented goat cheese always and go for goat feta.
5- Sheep cheese is some of my favorite. Pecorino and Manchingo. (Spelling?) - always a good choice because they are fermented.
6- Proscuitto is fermented. A surprising bit of news.
7- Italian Reggiano Parmesan and meat salami, charcuterie, must be from Italy, fermented traditionally.
8- Non meat options - hemp hearts.
    9- Pistachio always and forever
    10- Macadamia nuts-prefer raw!
    but roasted is fine.
11- Walnuts: non organic is OK because it isn’t exposed to the herb and pesticides. But nice to support organic.
12- EVOO not in plastic. Big bottles not best. Organic in taller, smaller, round bottle.
    13- Untoaated sesame oil
    14- Dried herbs and spices

A few items I didn't know Costco had, although I wish Costco had more Keto friendly items. I end up making everything homemade, shred my own cheese, mayonnaise, pizza sauce, pizza crust, salad dressing etc. Bummer is, when you find something you like, Costco stops selling it for some reason. Thanks for making this video Dr. Gundry! I'm headed to Costco now.

Kirland extra virgin olive oil from Costco is very good in antiinflamation and is 100% pure oive oil. I red about this was tested by a third party in an article several years ago. I have to look into the one in the glass bottle to buy only if it's fom one and only one single country. But if I ave to buy the one fron plastic bittle, I would put it in glass bottle when I get home (take nto consideration Costco ha a high turn-over). Add astaxanthin to the oil will keep it frsh longer.

You have to read the labels, I pass on salami or any cold cut meats that have nitrates in them. I look for uncured cold cut meats that don't have nitrates in them. Even the ones from Italy can have nitrates in them. Always read the labels before buying any food you're not sure of.

    • @gwenlilly333
      @gwenlilly333 Месяц назад +3

If a product is labeled "uncured with no added nitrates" but contains celery powder, it means that while the manufacturer hasn't added any synthetic nitrates directly, the celery powder itself naturally contains nitrates, allowing them to still claim "no added nitrates" on the label, even though the product technically does contain nitrates from the celery powder; this practice can be considered misleading by some consumers

Eat as well as your budget allows. I can’t afford all the stuff that’s imported and pure organic and expensive. Eat as fresh and well as you can. Not sure why so many people on here trash these tips to try to eat better and save money especially if you feed a family.

Are you ok Dr. Gundry, your voice sounds a bit raspy today, and it sounds like you are sucking on a lozenge, I do notice the hot tea beside you. Hope you are well my friend, you do an incredible amount of work in a short period of time. Sometimes the body says "slow down" rest.

I am like some of your patients that CAN'T gain weight. I ate a MINIMUM of 8,000 calories a day for TWO YEARS and did not gain weight. I weighed 140 lbs when I had my Army physical in 1969. At age 75 I just had my first blood test and second physical and I weighed 141 lbs I guess I did "bulk up" 1 pound over the last 55 years.

Fyi, the walnuts in a 25 mil radius of Lynwood will be rancid. Unfortunately the organic walnuts and pecans are the only fresh ones. Don't buy their balsamic vinegar though. Kirckland Balsamic Vinigar jas Sugar added. It's too sweet and yucky for me.

Trader Joe's has "Italian Style" Cheese. The key word is "Style" and you should avoid this. I tried to tell the person stocking the cheeses I wanted "cheese from Italy" and she grabbed the "Italian Style" instead.
I keep looking and found a cheese from Switzerland that was aged for 6 months, not the "Swiss Style" cheese.
They also have an Organic New Zealand Cheese and a non-Organic Grass-Fed Cheese. Not sure what the stance on GMOs is in New Zealand.
