My city, how beautiful it is from the sky. A skilled pilot, up to 6000 m altitude to cross over the Andes and then to 2800 m to Quito. Sometimes, there is some turbulence,and less air.😂
Travelled to Quito few years ago. It took two (2) attempts to land at the airport. The majestic views of the Andes with the flight gliding precariously with the hope of a smooth landing..was awestruck with the terrain below. Ecuador including Quito is a must visit destination😊
Nice video. This is a relatively new airport, entered in operation in 2013. Before the landing was way more challenging close to dangerous in a shorter runway just in the middle of the city. I'm glad now we have a modern airport in Quito.
Just landed there (as a passenger, of course) about an hour ago. Pile o' fun -- pilots got a round of applause when we eventually touched down. The city is incredible.

The number on the runway indicates the direction of the runway. In the case on Quito, 36 means 360°. A runway numbered 27 would mean 27°. 09 would be 090° etc… 😊
