It would be nice to have a camera that can capture a turning propeller the correct way. The sound is great, editing, camera, etc. but the smartphone cannot do propellers. I did the same as you, but from the seaplane part of YVR south terminal. This is one of Canadas best airlines. I just took pictures.
@PeterNGloor, Thanks Peter for your kind words, engagement and support, I am truly grateful. I agree, the smartphone can't do propellers. That being said, my little frame can't hold the weight of a more sophisticated camera for more than a couple of minutes at a time. I can hold my iPhone 13 ProMax for almost an hour, arms extended. I couldn't agree more, Harbour Air is one of Canada's best airlines! I donate10% of what I earn through ad revenue on my channel to charity. I asked my good friend and neighbour, Mike the HA mechanic, which of my chosen charities should I donate to with this particular video, his choice is the Terry Fox Foundation. Great choice, Mike the mechanic, the Terry Fox Foundation will be the recipient of this video's charitable offering. Best....Corrie
In the 1990's I commuted regularly from Victoria to Vancouver for business. At one point I calculated the cost of ferry fares, gasoline, wear/tear, and work-time-down. It became obvious Harbour Air was the best option. This video is a trip back in time for me. So nostalgic that I put on headphones to simulate the white noise of the flight. Loved the service then and appreciate that I may well have flown on that very aircraft. Had it been an outbound flight I might have glimpsed my family home at Clover avenue and Moss street. Thank you Corrie. An absolute visual treat.
@yukonica4560, thank you for your kind, very engaging comment and support, I am truly grateful. Such an amazing story you share of the amazing Harbour Air. They are without a doubt, one of my favourite local companies. I do have a few full flight videos with different Otters. I'm pretty sure one of the outbound flights might show Clover and Moss. I walk the Clover Point, Moss St area often. Thanks so much for finding my channel, I hope you will come back. I warms my heart when people share their experiences and stories, and yours is a fine example. Best....Corrie

I think you and I share an attitude to aviation that the only thing better than watching aircraft is flying in them. I must admit that Vancouver - Victoria and back has to be one of the most memorable flights of my life. Another was flying in a Long Ranger helicopter in The Rockies. The third was 45 minutes in the back of a two seat Harrier. Three flights I will never forget.

My wife and I took the first morning flight in the DHC-2 from Maple Bay on a clear crisp September morning. We could hear it from behind the boathouses sounding like a teenager having to wake up for school! Several turns later she fired up and shortly after poked out from behind the boathouses into the low rising sunshine! Our hearts MELTED! About 100’ off the terminal dock the pilot killed the engine. We were deeply in tune with EVERY sound coming from that beautiful radial engine and could clearly envision each piston, connecting rod, valves, lifters and springs working in melody to put it back to sleep. Then…silence, broken only by the lapping of the water on the pontoons as she quietly glided into dock. To top this off was the smell of the salt chuck, creosote pilings and BACON coming from an anchored ketch in the harbour! Our departure was no less spectacular! Being the first flight of the day, the pilot took several minutes gently increasing the throttle while intently scanning the instruments for any indication of a problem….there were none. Now he steadily increased to about 3/4 throttle, and the wake coming off the floats glistened in the early morning sun like a brides veil on her wedding day. Then…’balls to the wall’ jumped up onto its step skimming the surface increasing speed rapidly and lifting off and into the air! We did not use the available ear protection as we wanted to hear and feel EVERY roar and vibration coming from that beautiful radial engine! We were not disappointed! As you can tell by my description and the passion behind it, this truly was an experience of a lifetime! How did it feel? Take this description and multipy by the power of 10’💕💕💕
@57Jimmy, wow, thank you so much for your passionate commentary on what is a truly remarkable experience! It is on my bucket list to experience a journey such as yours. Great video. Back in the 1970s for two summers I worked at Great Bear Lake in the Northwest Territories, right on the Arctic Circle. We flew up in Twin Otters from Yellowknife and return. They are wonderful aircraft and I have great memories of those flights. Also I got to fly several times in a Beaver and a small Cessna float plane. Float planes are my favorite plane to fly in. People who've never experienced what it's like to take off and land on water are really missing out.
@37BopCity, thanks for your kind words, engagement and support, I am truly grateful. It is on my bucket list to go for a ride in a Beaver and I can't wait. amazing how the pilot on such a turboprop can just leave the dock without helpers on land by just backing the craft up if needed. First time I watched this was on land, it was a Pilatus turbo Porter at an air show, it was brand new, demonstrating its ability to taxi backwards.

@michelledauvergne6830, thanks Michelle for your kind words and support, I am truly grateful. I was in a Twin Otter recently, but silly me, forgot to hit record on the most integral part of the flight, the landing. I will have to repeat the Twin Otter flight. LC Corrie, Thanks! it hs been 20 yrs since I was in Vicotria. Loved it so much. I read about a BnB that offered Cooking classes while you stay. Do you know of that? I couldnt find anyting on the interweebs! Also, do you do any Ferry videos? I want to travel back up there and take a few ferry rides as well. (im in Dallas btw).
@redleader, Thanks Damon for your kind, engaging comments. I am truly grateful for your support. I have not heard about the BnB that offers cooking classes, sounds like a great place. I will ask my friends if they have heard of this BnB. I do have some really good footage on the ferry from Victoria to Vancouver going through active pass. I haven't shared my ferry footage because the wind noise is always horrific. I could mute the sound and ad music, it really is stunning scenery. I wasn't sure if my ferry footage was worth sharing, it is. I will work on it, you've inspired me. Come back to Victoria, we'd love to welcome you back. Best....Corrie
5:18 - such a dichotomy. The natural beauty in the background, fronted by the squalor of the docking and industrial infrastructure. Look up, it's one world. Look down it's another. It's hard to rationalize their co-existence. It looks like 2 separate pictures superimposed upon each other.
@coldlakealta4043, Bob, you make the most interesting observations. I am always grateful for your engagement and support, thank you. The Vancouver shoreline and skyline are spectacular and as you put it "co-existence". Best....Corrie

2/22/24..Hi Corrie from New Orleans, La. USA. Love most all aviation channels & know pretty muc which direction flight is taken. Unknown on this flight as no map or direction was given; yes you know, but how many 'foreign' viewers know if you are going West or East? Had a good customer with Mobil Oil, from Moose Jaw. So was wondering which direction you were going. Suggest a quick map pic & maybe a color tape/string showing the path. Beautiful country views. You did not tell altitude, am guessing 1200ft? Fantastic a/c. Stay safe & carry on!👍
@jamescole1786, thanks James for your kind, engaging comment. I am grateful for your support. I have been to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, an amazing experience. Victoria BC is on Canada's southern west Coast on Vancouver Island. The flight from Vancouver to Victoria is southwest. I have a similar video taken in a different Otter. The pilot of that video, Nick said this "Our flight from take off, outbound was 1000' until mid strait. Then we were given clearance to 1500'. Once we cleared YVR airspace, and entered Victoria airspace. We were given clearance once again, to climb to 2500 just south of Prevost island. Our cruising speed was 125 indicated. Roughly 140mph ground speed." I believe It would be virtually the same for this flight I'm not a pilot, I'm an airplane enthusiast with a camera in my hand. Thanks for stopping by my channel, I hope you will come back. Best...Corrie
@larryfreeman7979, thanks Larry for your engaging comment and support, I am sincerely grateful. I'm going out on a limb with my response. I'm guessing, if you haven't been to Canada, it's really hard to understand the demographics and size of Canada. We live in a huge country, especially if you're driving. Best...Corrie
@nononsenseBennett, thanks for your kind, engaging comment and support. I have a little story in the planes playlist about the e-beaver. I’d go for a ride with almost anything that flies, I’d go for a ride in an e-plane too! Will be quite a few years before it is certified. Someone had to take the lead, I hope it works out for Harbour Air. Harbour Air is very progressive and innovative, one of my favourite local companies. Best….Corrie
Damn, after a life in aviation all I would love to do would be to start over and do all these piloting jobs. Instead I will be tossed in the bin and forgotten in a few years.
@gregmarchegiani6656, thanks Greg for your kind words and support, I am truly grateful. Welcome to my channel(aka, the lounge) I hope you will enjoy it here. I offer you a first class ticket with a front row seat. Welcome aboard! There are a lot of retired pilots that visit the lounge and leave engaging comments, I hope you will too. @johnnycrash3270, thanks for your kind words and engaging comment. I am grateful for your support. The yellow taxi cab Beaver would be a really cool airplane to see. I have lots of Beaver’s in the planes playlist with the beautiful sound of the radial engine. I post a video every Saturday that will have a Beaver. New footage 3 times a week. I hope you will visit the lounge again. I offer you a front row seat with a first class ticket. The lounge is a pretty fun place. Best….Corrie
@michaelfraser5723, thanks Michael for your kind words and support, I am truly grateful. My videography skills are improving all the time. I have an iPhone 13Pro Max, the full zoom is 9X, not bad for a hand held device. Please continue to help me with constructive commentary, I sincerely appreciate it. Being blind in my left eye since birth has it's ups and downs and a few limitations. I do my best to not let my funky eye hold me back. My funky eye is part of the reason I'm behind the camera, and rarely in front of it. I'm not afraid to be in front of the camera, I'm just self conscious of how my eyes look. Best....Corrie
@calinutza33, thanks for your inquiry, I am grateful you found my channel. The best way to do this would be to book a flight. To sit in the front seat is at the discretion of the captain. I was polite and simply asked "would it be alright if I sit in the right seat and are you alright if I record the journey." It is not an option to actually book the right seat, it's a bonus if the captain says you can sit up front. Best....Corrie
@cbrbird, Thanks Dave for finding the lounge. I am truly grateful for your engagement and support. The right seat is the best seat. I usually get there early, be really polite and gently ask the pilot "would it be ok if I sit in the right seat, I promise to behave, oh and can I record the whole journey". So far I've been incredibly fortunate and I really do behave myself. Best...Corrie.
@orgcoast5990, thanks for your question. The pine beetles are located more in the interior of the province, not this area. That's not to say they aren't headed this direction. @todds4101, thanks Todd for you kind words and support, I am truly grateful. Welcome to the lounge, I'd like to offer you a first class ticket in the front row seat. I hope you will come back and check in soon. Best....Corrie
Thank you for sharing this wonderful flight on DHC-2 Corrie ! I also like flying with the Twin Otter DHC-6 as well ! I subscribe to your channel.
A french traveller and private pilot.
@michelledauvergne6830, thanks Michelle for your kind words and support, I am truly grateful. I was in a Twin Otter recently, but silly me, forgot to hit record on the most integral part of the flight, the landing. I will have to repeat the Twin Otter flight. It is on my bucket list to fly in a DHC-2 Beaver, and I hope to this spring or summer. I think that's awesome that you are a private pilot! I know this is an incredible accomplishment, well done. Best....Corrie
wow. North and West Vancouver are really keen into turning their mountains into concrete huh
@j134679, I hadn't thought of it that way, but yes there is a lot of tall construction. I still find the area truly beautiful. Thanks for visiting the lounge, I am truly grateful for your kind words and support. Best....Corrie
Great video
@federicomaisch6812, thanks for your kind words and support, I am truly grateful.
I understand and agree with you, I'm just not sure that "squalor" is the right word to describe it.
@kenoverbay-baker4653, Ken, I appreciate your engaging comment and support, thank you. I wondered about the word "squalor" too. I interpret as an individuals perception of the landscape? Thanks for stopping by. Best...Corrie
good memories - thnx
@gordbeynon2703, thanks Gord for you kind words and support, I am truly grateful. I hope you will return. Best....Corrie
well done and you behaved😃
@gettingold59, thanks Allan for your kind words and support. It was tough, but I did behave, no touchy....lol😀 Best....Corrie
Nice panel.
@wayneschenk5512, thanks for your fun words and support, I am truly grateful. It was pretty exciting to see the panel up close again. I behaved myself and didn’t touch anything, it was tempting, but I know better. Best…Corrie
I'd like to see the landing that comes in from the north east. First time I saw that freaked me out!
@nononsenseBennett, I am directionally challenged(don’t judge me…..lol), but believe I have two flights of footage coming in from the north east. We flew right over the Johnson St bridge and landed in front of the Delta. One of the videos is Otter copilot Full Flight Adventure and the sight seeing Otter adventure, they are in the planes playlist. Thanks for your kind words and support. Best….Corrie
Roughly 140mph ground speed." I believe It would be virtually the same for this flight
I'm not a pilot, I'm an airplane enthusiast with a camera in my hand. Thanks for stopping by my channel, I hope you will come back. Best...Corrie
haha, very unclear what the reference to Moose Jaw was in relationship to a flight from Vancouver to Victoria,
@larryfreeman7979, thanks Larry for your engaging comment and support, I am sincerely grateful. I'm going out on a limb with my response. I'm guessing, if you haven't been to Canada, it's really hard to understand the demographics and size of Canada. We live in a huge country, especially if you're driving. Best...Corrie
The electric plane is coming soon...Can't wait to get a ride on that!
I'm not a pilot, but was married to one. I've always had a love of aviation. The RUclips platform is an outlet for me to share my love of aviation. I hope you will visit often. Best....Corrie

Anybody Remember?
1946 De Havilland Bever (Taxi Cab Yellow)
And the most Beautiful sound heard in the city
when they took off from coal Harbor
@johnnycrash3270, thanks for your kind words and engaging comment. I am grateful for your support. The yellow taxi cab Beaver would be a really cool airplane to see. I have lots of Beaver’s in the planes playlist with the beautiful sound of the radial engine. I post a video every Saturday that will have a Beaver. New footage 3 times a week. I hope you will visit the lounge again. I offer you a front row seat with a first class ticket. The lounge is a pretty fun place. Best….Corrie
Don't be afraid to zoom in on distant land scapes; quite revealing they are.
@michaelfraser5723, thanks Michael for your kind words and support, I am truly grateful. My videography skills are improving all the time. I'm a rookie on a huge learning curve and appreciate kind suggestions like yours. Sometimes I feel my equipment has limitations for a good zoom.
Hey , I want to do this , please tell me how do I buy a ticket next to the plot ? 😲👍😍 Thank you !
I've sat there a number of times. Best to be first in line to board, and just ask the pilot...
Do you have a pine beetle investation causing the brown trees?
@orgcoast5990, thanks for your question. The pine beetles are located more in the interior of the province, not this area. That's not to say they aren't headed this direction. The brown trees are the result of the draught we've been suffering the past few years. Thanks for finding my channel. I am grateful for your engagement and support, thank you. Best....Corrie
Mmmm its a lot further than it looks on a map lol😂😂😂😮
@josephcooksley3219, thanks for your fun, engaging comment, I am grateful for your support. It’s not that far as the crow flies. To take ground transportation takes about 4 hours. 40 minutes from engine start up to shut down, and it’s a spectacular experience! Thanks for stopping by today. Best….Corrie
