One of my friends is a furry, and she’s super chill. She’s worked as a professional character actor, and her ren faire costume is a fox. The kids love her, it’s so sweet to see her interact with everyone.
I’m just amazed by the dedication because fur suits are known to be hot when walking around conventions. A ren fair outside in the middle of summer sounds like anyone wearing a fur suit is asking for heat stroke. Hope they stay safe.

There's one fest I heard of through a friend who volunteers at a functioning railroad museum with me, and the one he goes to has one day where it's time travelers day, so pretty much it's other people showing up from different time periods.
