Lol, I was just about to put expanding foam in my bulkhead..... temporary, before inevitable Galvy Bulkhead change soemday. Probs still gonna do it and you can't stop me. Ha
I want to buy myself a lanny ship it over seas and rebuild it after seeing this episode the chassis and bulkhead are massive jobs 😮 I can’t really afford to go out and buy a 50k lanny that’s already had all the work done and with limited experience and skills I’m now wondering if its even a possible task/job I can do 😢
back in 2006 (i think) landrover sold off a load of parts on the cheap by mistake. Genuine td5 bulkheads were going for £180. me and a mate both bought one and adapted them to fit the 200tdi tunnel at the time. I wish I'd have bought a load of them now :D
Hi Guys. Who’s chassis did you use on this Defender? To buy a new bulkhead and have it painted, then find you are having to drill holes and cut off bracket’s etc is a royal pain in the ass plus really defeats the whole point of a galvanised bulkhead, so the question is have you fitted a MAER or Ultra version and if so what’s your thoughts on their products? Fantastic video as always, keep up the great work. 👍😎
We used a Marsland chassis - quality and fit is excellent - Bulkhead is Shielder, it’s only small fitment issues but agreed, having to cut & drill it isn’t ideal…
@@juicemotors How about giving either MAER or Ultra a go, as I’m sure it would make another great video, plus you never know either Company might sponsor the video. Keep up the great work. 👍😎
If Ultra are happy to supply a sponsored LHD footwell for a RHD-LHD steering swap, you can use my DCOU as a Guinea pig. Will also allow you another French Alps video as that’s where it lives….😊
Great video. Just about to order the bits to do my 110 td5 double cab. I’ll be honest the issues with the bulkhead not fitting etc is putting me off shielder. Richards chassis make a galv bulkhead now which looks favourite. Has anybody fitted one of these yet?

Hi Sam always best to bolt bulkhead to chassis loosely rather than the way you did it. A lot easier way to line everything up.

Great job! Enjoying the videos from Alabama!
What a great team and fun atmosphere you have there guys 👍🏻🏴
Nice job! Love your work!
Respect your dedication to fixing these right!
Try one of the galvanised bulkheads. They are a great fit and come with vent mesh installed too.
New to this channel and very enjoyable what a great job, from filming to finish defender. Love it.
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along

Have you guys ever used or come across the Stainless steel Maer bulkhead?
Alas they don't appear to do one for the TD5?

If you replace the bulkhead and the chassis, what do you do with all the serial numbers? Do you transfer them across or inform the DVLA?
Has there been a follow up video to this, I’m interested to see if the doors fitted?
nice job but why did you not t wash the new chassis and paint?
Hi . What make of replacement bulkhead did you go for ? Thanks
Frame - chassis - make your mind up!
Tomayto, tomahto 🍅

Great job, well done.
How much does this cost?
Still hoping for a part 4
Hi Sam, good job as always , it s possible to have the color name or color code of this bleu please. Thanks
I can see some cursing, swearing and sweating coming up when hanging the doors. Nice job guys.
Land Rover really did a shite job of rustproofing their vehicles, this one shows how rotten they can get. Nice job of the replacement.
Machines 👉👍
