- It's no secret that Collectability loves the Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse collection. For us, it represents everything that is Patek -- a modern, yet eternal canvas upon which all aspects of the artisan’s touch can flourish: the case maker, the chain maker, the goldsmith and dial maker, the jeweler, and of course, the watchmaker.
In this video, John Reardon is excited to present what we believe to be the world's largest collection of Patek Philippe Ellipse watches and accessories. If you are aware of a larger collection, please let us know! John describes a wide range of Ellipse watches, some clocks, cufflinks, key rings, a ring, a mirror, a zodiac necklace, the sort-after lighter, and a rarely-seen, diamond and engraved Ellipse letter opener. Dating from 1968, the Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse became much more than just a watch collection, it was a lifestyle that provided the Jet Set era with luxurious accessories to complement their elegant watches. As Thierry Stern, president of Patek Philippe said when celebrating the Ellipse’s 50th anniversary in 2018, “It’s one of those watches that shows you how to make a Patek Philippe. No gimmicks, just purity and beauty expressed through simple design.”

I was tempted to drag onscreen one of our fridge sized Patek master clocks to connect the Ellipse subsidiary clock... maybe next time. And yes I was a kid in a candy store for this Ellipse shoot!!

Amazing collection. The Ellipse and Vintage mesh Pateks have become some of my most desired watches. I only wish I knew more about sizing the bracelets and the clasp adjustability before diving in to make a purchase.
Great presentation. I’m blessed with a PP reference 3748 I purchased new in 1982 from the Geneva salon. 18k yellow gold, 215 movement crocodile strap and that famous cobalt dial. 🤠

Hey, great content, i enjoyed it a lot! Loved the episode. One question: I inherited an Ellipse 3604 from my grandfather, who passed away one year. I would love to wear, since it reminds me of one of the most important persons in my life, but since my grandfather has been a big fellow, I would have to swap the strap. I tried several watch stores, to change the strap but either they don’t have one which would fit or it would take 12 month if I would order it from patek directly. Therefore: Do you have a suggestion for me where I can find a fitting strap, I don’t have to wait 12 month -I don’t mind aftermarket. Kind regards and keep up the great content, Daniel
