Hey funny story here. I'm new in ddo so I found a written guide and I did compare it to your video only to realise that the written guide is from you too 😜 love your guides. Keep up.
Thanks, Tom for the tips. It's a fun build for sure. For those without the raid ring, Clouded Dreams, use the Cha+22 Minor Artifact, Stolen Signet of ir'Wynarn. Then you can use the necklace slot for Pendant of Azure Sky, boosting your Fire Lore, plus Sky Attunement and Magical Efficiency. For those without a crafted trinket, use the Symbol of the Slave Lords for Ins Con+8. A decent substitute on those. My Fire is currently 1052 with 76% crit chance and 65 crit multiplier. That is without LGS boots.
I gave this a try with a character that was level 23 human sorcerer with some fair/crap gear and was surprised at the difference in damage out put. it isn't as great as yours since it is only a second life human and I had to take a few other AP things to compensate but the eldritch knight choices, combined with the medium armor without spell failure and the decent increase in damage really upped both the survive-ability and destruction it can rain down on enemies. Thanks for this... just so you know it still works a year later pretty well. Hope that doesn't change anytime soon and I'm pleased with the improvements, once I get the right gear it should be pretty powerful.
Great video ! I was so intrigued by it i had to try it :D Im running it on Orion right now and i love it ! Im just missing the ring i have to run that raid
Thank you Strimtom, I have learned so much from your vid's (as a covid lockdown returner to DDO after ten years). I followed this build and ran out of APs to emulate. I then realised this build needs past lives. What set would you recommend if I can't wear medium armour (i.e. blessed vestments as part of flamecleansed) as a first lifer?
Brother Strimtom, Great Video! Any thoughts on a fire based Alchemist? Whats the max you can get your crit chance up to and spell power? I am running a cold based Alchy now but want to try fire. Will the P Wave item that freezes stuff work with fire based stuff? Thanks Bro!
Hi Strimtom, thanks for sharing this build. Is it equally effective for free accounts with 2 points skill for lvl? I'm from Brazil, and acquiring dollars here is not feasible. 😆😆 Thank you in advance for any response...
Hello, thanks for posting and explaining this build, it's really fun and strong, even for me with just 2 past lives (as meele). One question, how do you use medium armor and shield without the penalties?
Healing amplification increases all healing you receive from all sources. So you get more HP from: -Potions -Scrolls -You own spells -Other players Spells -Hirelings Anytime you would get health, if you have 20 healing amplification, you would actually get 20% more. It's very good.
@@Strimtom awesome thx man. I come from wow all the way back to classic and I have a channel of guild wars 2 raids if you wanna check it out you might enjoy the heavy mechanics of the boss fights.
@Strimtom - You said that it only takes you 2 days to level from 1 to 20. I would like very much to know how you can do that. I'm a relatively new player (about a month), have 2 characters (level 13 ranger, level 9 paladin), and have been playing so much that my fingers and eyes hurt just trying to get ahead... Can you please let me know what to do to level to 20 in a day or two, or perhaps you could make a "How to level" video? Great work, cool vids with lots of info, keep up the good work sir.
Hello! Levelling quickly takes a lot of practice and knowledge. Which quests to do and how to do them, as well as reducing downtime. Inventory management, prepping items sets, and know your build 100% ahead of time is key to success. I am currently working on a project right now where I do every quest in the game and record my time to make an efficient path for myself, which I am going to use to try to level from 1-20 as fast as possible in one sitting. You can find the chart here docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DSaVJBRGuq7mF65EP2SHVEqjYTCE74pTXsAFpIb_Z5Y/edit?usp=sharing Once I have done my speed life I will upload the whole thing to youtube here as well as doing some analysis videos of the process
@@Strimtom- Thank you so much for the quick reply! The spreadsheet is amazingly comprehensive and helpful, it's exactly what I've been looking for, Thank you! Love the vids and can't wait to see your 1-20 run in a sitting. :)
With the changes since this build came out, do you still feel Sorcerers are viable to level 30? Which do you think is doable to level 30 and more fun of the 2?
I'm new to the game, been playing for a week, and would like to give sorcerer a try. However, I find that some of the things mentioned here are not readily available for a new player like me without anything. For example, for the skills I can only get Concentration and Spellcraft; I have no more points to get UMD. Will that gimp my character? I'm currently subscribed to VIP that so I really want to try things while I can to decide if I want to further delve into the game or not. Anyways, thanks a lot for the write up, really appreciate it! EDIT: Also, I can't seem to find fire bolt. Is it the same as flame bolt?
Use magic device is the most important skill. I recommend taking use magic device and spellcraft. Use magic device will let you use healing items much much better. Flamebolt = firebolt. Sometimes I forget the exact wording. I find I have a habit of Saying mana instead of skillpoints and life instead of HP. Old habits die hard.
@@Strimtom Thank you so much! I've created a character and will be following your build. On lower levels, do I need to go melee first? And will I be able to follow through with concentration on later levels? Noticed on your build in the vid you had a lot of them.
@@gvcddo6073 concentration only matters if monsters attack you when you cast spells. So kill monsters before they get to you and it isn't a problem at all!
If you drop starting CON to 16, you get 6 more points to spend. Put at least 4 into INT and you should have enough skill points to match what is shown in the build.
No because you need light and medium proficiency first, So you need to take 3 feats, or a level of another class. That's why warforged is so good; adamantine plating doesn't need proficiency.
What Pre Sharn gear can I use? I have access to almost all of the content except Sharn gear. Been Afk 4 years and loving this build. Only lvl 12 so far.
Ever ran into Wheloonies gobbling up almost every DBFs since the update? sick saves. not even triple DMG. Not your build admitingly but still, mobs saving almost every DBF, feels off.
Guess you need the equipment and past lives to back this up. I tried this on my FTP sorc and it kinda works but as soon as I get into lvl 17 dungeons, even on normal, pretty much everything saves and 90% of mobs have evasion it seems. I generally have to scorching ray most things to death as my AOE is only effective vs mobs without evasion and insane reflex saves.
Empower increases the cost of my spells by 10 (33%-18% cost increase) for 75 spellpower (7% damage increase). It isnt worth it to spend so much more spellpoints

Just got to 20 with this build and lvling was a blast. Literally. Cant wait to get even more power lol

Strimtom, Do you have any new builds for a fire sorc since Feywild and since they have taken away the Burnscar Sash? Your help is appreciated.
I'll really try this build in a future life! Most because I love so much your Acid Arrow for Rangers!

Hey Strimtom, is this build still viable at this time, and beginner friendly ? I've just started, and I'm at lvl 6 enjoying it. Thx
Yes, absolutely. For endgame epic destinies, draconic incarnation is still really good, especiall using the shiradi mantle.
Hello, thanks for posting and explaining this build, it's really fun and strong, even for me with just 2 past lives (as meele).
One question, how do you use medium armor and shield without the penalties?
You get proficiencies in the eldritch knight tree and the cores of the tree remove arcane spell failure so you have no penalty
Strimtom thank you for the answer
Newish player here trying to work out the intricacies of sorc. What is the purpose of the healing amplification? Which skills exactly benefit from it?
Healing amplification increases all healing you receive from all sources. So you get more HP from:

-You own spells
-Other players Spells
-Hirelings

What about the Mobs that heal with Fire damage & how does this spec work underwater?
Do you think it’s worth taking heavy armour prof for soloing as current ap setup gets rid of failure and you still keep the set bonus

Why is fire based better than ice, acid or electric?
They get area spells earlier than the others, and area is good for levelling speed.
