- This video is going to show You how recovery Motorola Mototrbo radio that have protected codeplug, and we do not have blank codeplug or same radio to copy from.
warning: this video is not about recovering content of codeplug!

If you read the radio codeplug, the Encryption keys either basic or enhanced encryption are wiped and not stored in the codeplug and are not retrievable same for the RAS key!

Found this interesting video. So you unlock the radio by saving the Tuning codeplug, performing a CPS recovery and reprograming a sample codeplug. Did I miss a step?
Hey, I believe using Mototrbo Tuner is optional - but I advice to create backup of information that was set up by Motorola at factory - and they are fit for that only radio - doing recovery is not regular programming so if something fail & I brick radio - better to have copy of that because without expensive radio tester You can't re align it - I just play safe - back then it was still expensive radio. Most like only step You need to do is CPS recovery and that will update firmware. If You have friend with same type of radio - just ask them for codeplug and try upload it without doing recovery.
@@ElectronicNoobBlog I attempted to bypass the CPS password but no luck. I think you need a Depot tool to bypass the CPS Password.

Damn Google algorythm, I can read-write to radio no problem but someone changed copeplug master password and they deleted all backups. How do I remove password on the codeplug on the PC?

I bought a Motorola XPR 7550 and it has been stunned and I cannot clone it or put another codeplug onto the radio, It only asks me for a password when I try to read it. Any help?

Yes , I tried that but it ask for the password to continue, unless I am doing it wrong. I tried to also do a charging cradle clone and I got an error message as well. I do not care to know what the frequencies are on the radio with the password protected code plug, I just want to reset it or rewrite the radios.
I was exactly thinking about cradle method... my ideas are running out. Last one would be try to update firmware? I have no idea if it's possible - I have zero experience in US radios - but in general updating firmware should skip checking for password. Try check if there is new firmware for it - on back plate should be factory version and check if You can try download anything newer and load it.

If I have the right sample at the start, How do I recover with that? When I try open recover it says "no matching packages exist"
If You have blank codeplug just open it and write to radio (without trying to read).
@@ElectronicNoobBlog I have samples that came with CP16. When I try write to my DP4400 gives me error 1638, when I try clone it gives me error 1828. Think my cable is not correct?
@@militaryrig If radio is detected as network card then cable is correct (it's just USB cable) - are You sure that radio is not using some ancient firmware long before CPS16?
@@ElectronicNoobBlog With a bit of messing about I managed to clone two of my dp4400's. I Found a different codeplug, One radio initially did not work, Other did. Once I cloned the one that worked I was able to clone the other with that file. Now onto the dp4400e I have, Luckily I've got another thats not password protected so the same should work! Thanks for your help, Love the videos. I also collect military radio equipment, Mainly radio stuff :)

I'm not familiar with US only radios. Are You sure there is password on code plug? Those are commercial - locked to specific frequency radios - it really don't need to have protected codeplug?

Europe, we use PMR for unlicensed business and licensed for more professional use. Radio You got are not allowed here so I never work on them & don't have any access to firmware thru my distributor - so I won't be able to help You.

Hey, What is Your actual problem? In general You just write (clone) blank codeplug and radio will be operational again. On this video I had hard time because I did not have this blank codeplug delivered with my CPS and no one was using this radio around me). I don't have any codeplugs for non EMEA radios, P8668i is most like AA version. Ask someone who have same radio to read it, save codeplug and send it to You if it's not included with CPS (there is folder that have some basic codeplugs to start). If You want get access to codeplug content and read RAS-keys -I'm not aware of any method doing it with modern firmware.

I checked - have only for DP4601 (without E) i'm not sure if CPS will allow to load it.

I never installed MOTOTRBO Tuner alone in recent revisions like 16+ - it was part of CPS. When You install CPS there is question what part to install - one of them is Tuner - just tik [x] and it should appear on desktop.
