    Superb, what a performance! Such concentration & dexterity...WAM wasn't going to stop Maria Tipo in her tracks. I am so pleased that this concert was uploaded, thanks for that! Maria has been a favourite of mine since I heard her in a recital at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, in 1970. She played Scarlatti, Schubert & Chopin. Her playing of the Scarlatti in particular engendered a life long love & appreciation of his music in me. Maria was 39 at that time, I was 27, & totally enraptured by her. I will admit to enjoying her wafting perfume flowing over me (front row seat), & I still have the programme. PS: and better looking than Horowitz!

      Dear LoftMusic folks, why don’t you spotlight the most unique for our time feature of this performance-the ORIGINAL CADENZA BY PERFORMER. This is also quite authentic performance overall. I had never knew of this musician, but should have known. Help many more audiences discover this pianist.

    MAGNIFICO! Mozart is gorgeous, a gorgeous music-maker. The film, "Elvira Madigan" was a great and sad film and the movement
    used as the musical backdrop to this film was this excellent Movement, THE ANDANTE. It tugs at your heartstrings. It yearns.
    It's a plea, a supplication, a sublime heart-render.

    I love the rhythmic vitality of her playing here, the neatness of execution and alertness to so many details. Her legato in the slow movement is really something. Quite marvelous.
    Not so enamoured by the orchestral playing which sounds very dated (not light enough) and a bit agricultural.
    Anyway, thank you so much for sharing. I will look out for more videos of her playing.

    in Maria Tipo's interpretation each note is a pure pearl that does not lose his individuality but is accompanied by the others to draw Mozart's portrait.

    Mentre scorre il video su You Tube del tuo concerto di Mozart mi entrano in memoria e mi fa piacere ricordare il nostro incontro avvenuto nel autunno1957durante il viaggio in aereo verso Bogotà, tu impegnata per eseguire un recital pianistico al teatro Colon, io per entrare a far parte dell orchestra della sinfonica della Colombia come prof di fagotto..Eravamo giovani disorientati dal nostro avvenire, mi trattenni sei anni, dopo ritornai in Italia ed entrai a far parte dell orchestra del Teatro Regio di Torino come primo fagotto, e li mi pensionai Mi associo a tutti coloro che ti vogliono bene per la tua personalità classica e sopratutto come pianista che ho avuto il piacere di conoscere,e sentire dal vivo, gli elogi si sprecano. Un caloroso abbraccio. Ezio Demaria

    Better? No....But try Maria João playing the same Nr. 21 KV 467 in 1981, also available in RUclips. If this 1985 performance is brilliant but "reposé", the 1981´s is eventually more vibrant..., a younger mozartian energy....But both perfect. Sounds naif, but tenho orgulho em ser português num momento destes...desculpemo, cela va sans dire, non? . .

    Was that the cadenza Beethoven wrote in the first movement?

    • @JamesLee-yk3jb
      @JamesLee-yk3jb 7 лет назад +13

      You'd expect her to use Busoni's cadenza (her mother was a pupil of Busoni) but instead she went for one of her own, in the Allegro maestoso. To listen to the rare Busoni cadenza the best bet would be Annie Fischer and Wolfgang Sawallisch's recording.

    Senza tema di dire un'enormità, preferisco questa interpretazione addirittura a quella di Maurizio Pollini. L'orchestra però corre troppo, ma Maria Tipo riesce a dare una bellissima interpretazione anche con questo ritmo un pò troppo veloce e "legnoso".

    I trully love when surface the melodrammatic Beethoven side of Mozart, if l could have all the money in the world l want fans, l would love to finance such a music project, who is willing to imagine Beethoven performing Mozart his own way? Sometimes Mozart is too playfull like a kid, he is so childish and ..l think we can dig deeper in his artistic genius nature... think about it fans.. what a great performance, yeah, true classical music lovers share their huge fortune of holding such music assets, dedicated those who need to become Mozart fans from now on..my favorite is Beethoven because more realistic fans...how delightful is freedom of expression huh?
