As an older woman, I find myself learning from you. I (was) married to a military man 22 years (18 years ago) until he divorced me. During those years, I was alone A LOT physically raising 3 children. All close proximity in age. I learned I had to be a bit assertive during those years. Survival mode. I never remarried, but I never found a man who wanted to embrace being a true man. Now, I question whether I was the reason for that? In saying that, I am trying to become more feminine in my daily life. I also find my focus on God and family to have helped me go through these years alone. I truly no longer desire a relationship. However, it is nice on occasion when I dress a little more feminine to have a "few" men be respectful towards me. Thank you for teaching an older lady something necessary. God bless.

I too am an "older woman"; graduated high school in the middle '70's. Married a law enforcement/Vietnam Vet. He became a long haul trucker. I don't remember what "feminine" feels like.

@kathieswan3830 I understand. Perhaps we should allow ourselves a few moments a day to find peace within ourselves and, for that time, let go of having to "stay on top" of absolutely everything? Just 10 minutes a day would help. God bless.

When I accepted Christ into my life, He began to change me from a “pro-choice” feminist, agnostic and ardent democrat btw, to a new creation: a woman who accepts God’s views on personal, spiritual and political issues. I am now pro-life, pro woman, pro God. He essentially changed all of my beliefs and I am so grateful. Great job speaking on this in such a lovely way. 🙏🏼💕

I have wasted so much time and energy pursuing what I thought was the image of a “successful woman”. In the end, I discovered my true happiness and success lied in being a mother and taking care of my home and family. Making our house a home, loving, caring and providing for my family is the greatest joy and purpose I have ever known.

I am a single mom. Let’s just say I had a lot in common with the Samaritan woman at the well. Add a truckers mouth and bitterness as well. I was baptized two years ago. Though I’ve gained a ton of knowledge of our creature, I still can’t seem to rid the strong hold of a truckers mouth when I’m angry! Bitterness as well. I was raised with all men in our family. My mother left me when I was 10. I don’t enjoy being around women as they enjoy gossip and tearing other women down. So, I keep to myself and try to focus on healing and wobbling with God! I would love to be more like a proverbs 31 woman and embrace femininity inwardly and outwardly but verbally! I could really use some prayers. Prayers for being slow to anger and learning how to embrace meekness!
I look forward to your videos and watch them with my two dogs Callie May and Jack! They say hello! 🐾 ❤

It's so true. I changed to only wearing skirts, no makeup, and an a respectful demeanor in public and I am even shocked how many men, young/mature/older hold the doors and are much kinder than when I walked around with cargo pants, tank tops and was aggressive all the time. These same guys who cat call others are polite and respectful to me. It really is how ypu present yourself.

This is so well said! I’ve had a similar journey with femininity and “trying on” different facets of identity that I wasn’t meant to embody. I have never felt more like myself than when I’m in my home, submitting to my lovely husband, and leaning in to my gentle and nurturing tendencies. Everything else just feels like an ill fitted garment. And when I don’t embody those good things, it’s usually when I’m acting in my flesh and we all know how well that works out lol. God is gracious and patient and it’s a blessing every day we wake up to allow ourselves to be molded more into His image. What an honor!

Growing up without a Father in my life made me try to find that Love from men. I was terribly insecure and as the song goes " lookin for love in all the wrong places" and I didn't know how to give or receive healthy love. Been through 2 divorces and alot of pain and heartache.
When I finally had enough I truly surrendered to the Lord. I have been going through an amazing transformation in every possible way. Mentally, physically, emotionally. I now look to Jesus for the love I craved, and He does not disappoint. I am really learning to love myself also. Which leads to your well spoken topic. I can be the woman God created me to be, not some version that I think will lure a man and make me feel complete. That does not work. I think alot of young women that do not have a loving masculine role model fall into this trap, and our society doesn't help. We desperately need Men and Women to embrace their Godly roles. ❤

I was just telling my husband that even though I do like a more natural look, I want to feel pretty and lovely while doing the things I do in the home. haha. I have always been that way though. I don't want to "let myself go" completely, if that makes sense. Especially since today I turned 40.
I also am a barefoot tree climber. I was always a tom boy, but I also always liked being a girl and looking as one. Plus I always wanted to be a housewife and mom (as I am).
I think something I am into, is living life like Galatians 5 (fruit of the Spirit). I even have them listed in my dining room as a reminder. If I am not living that way, it will be an issue.
What is crazy and a little on your topic. . is that there has been more estrogen put into our foods (the processed ones) that it is causing a lot of men to have less of their masculinity and more femininity that it doesn't surprise me why so many more than ever seem "girly" in how they act or live.

  • @madelinebell84

Every bit of this just spoke to my heart! It basically sounded like you were describing my journey down to the letter. I was definitely one of those loud, angry feminists with, as you said, a truck driver mouth. 🤦‍♀Oh, and not to mention, being the lead singer of a metal band! 😂 It seems so ridiculous thinking back on it! And now I'm a soft, feminine, headcovering, Yeshua loving, homesteading homemaker. Talk about a turnaround! The peace and love of Adonai worked miracles within my heart and spirit and it eventually made it from the inside to the outside. As you said, I've never had the kind of peace and contentment that I have now. I'm so glad that you're getting this message out into the world because so many women, especially young women, desperately need to hear this truth. 💖

When I was growing up, I was the middle child and only girl. My mum was teaching/telling me that I would need to be always aggressive and assertive to get by in life, meanwhile my dad was trying his hardest to teach me that at times I may need to be assertive so that way people didn't just walk all over me but I didn't need to be like that 24/7. Past 4-5 years I've been trying to live the way my dad taught me since for most of my life I've done it the way my mum told me. I love both of my parents, but truth be told, living my life the way my dad tried to teach me is way more peaceful than the way I was living it before. I've got a little girl of my own now that I'm trying to teach her the way my dad did.

Now that I am almost 51 and my children are adults, I can retrospectively see that I often wasn't able to be my most feminine; with very little support network in my life I was in survival mode for so many years. Now, I can attempt to nurture myself a little more, embracing more femininity and giving myself the grace to do so. If more women could be gentle and kind to themselves and each other, what great joy it could bring. I always enjoy your videos. Thank you.

I love how you talked on how we as women need to embrace feminity. I was very aggressive for awhile because my ex was abusive to me and I had to survive on my own for awhile. I noticed how I would talk with people and would feel physically and mentally exhausted because I wanted to be heard and loved. It's talked a few years but I'm working on becoming more gentle with how u communicate with people. There is peace to be more peaceful. 🙏 thank you for sharing this video. Very inspiring 👏

    Hi Leah !
I've been following you for a while now (since 2015 if i remember correctly) and I thank God for your hard work and your example ! You were a big influence during my high school years as I was figuring out what it meant to be a girl and a woman the way the Lord wanted me to be.
Now I've been married for 2 years (together since 2017) and my husband and I are praying for new jobs, a new home, probably moving from France to the Usa, or wherever He needs us to be. In this season, I find myself longing for a simple life, a community of godly people and sisters in Christ I can be close to. We long for a place where our family could grow, with friends, animals and children if the Lord blesses us with them. We're both artists and writers and we're praying that God would use our gifts for His glory !
Thank you again Leah and God bless you and James and the pups abundantly !

Amen 🙏🏻 it’s so nice seeing more and more women deciding to embrace their femininity and the beauty that comes from that. It truly is work that happens inside and out, and when I felt convicted to embrace femininity and modesty 1.5 years ago, my whole world changed. I started wearing exclusively dresses and nightgowns, as that helped me to honour and embrace my femininity and in doing so, I feel the most me I’ve ever felt. It also changed how I show up as a wife and homemaker. It changed how I view myself + present myself to the outside world. It has been such an evolution!

    I absolutely support the idea!
I also went through having a muscular role imposed on myself since childhood. All this was only because of fear, and not because it was natural for me.
Accepting myself, throwing away behavior and state of mind that was alien to me, made me stronger. I no longer see femininity as a sign of weakness or submissiveness. A woman is the water that nourishes life.

Thank you for your words of wisdom. This is such a blessing. Growing up with a single mother who mostly worked, I resented my father for emotionally neglecting my mom and us children. This happens a lot in cultures or societies who don’t know the Father. We live in a fallen world unfortunately. And yes, now that I am saved in my mid thirties, I love embracing my femininity. Praying and hoping that it would expand much more years to come. God bless you and your femininity.

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Well said dear sister! So many outside influences have stripped our God given role but mostly it's been the devil himself right from the garden. Thank you for your transparency! It helps to know that there are seasons and the seasons pass. I too have been through my tough stages mostly out of need and some out of hurt. But I feel for a while now I can "stand down" and let my Lord take the wheel. When we as men and women walk in our God given roles there's peace and fulfillment because we're walking as we're created to. So powerful
what you've said. Thank you for letting us be a part of your precious moments with your Beloved James! He is equally loved by each of us and appreciated when he comes on. He's a true example of the masculine calling of men and would love to see Father use him to help other men. Love you both dearly and love the community of people in the chat! Blessings to you and all! ❤

I struggle so much because I am with a good man who is still doing his best to overcome addiction. It's a rotating power struggle between us because of what has happened. I struggle with which way to go and have to take so much to the Lord because he is not the spiritual leader in our house and is still very new to the faith. Trust is one of the hardest things to try and establish. And then trying to submit and not being the one in control is hard in this sort of situation. The enemy's attacks on our marriage lately has really ramped up. And I have nearly given up many times. But Yah is ever faithful and I praise him that he is so patient with me because I am so stubborn. Thank you for this message ❤

This episode really resonated with me. As a former police officer, working in a male dominated environment, doing very masculine work took its toll on me after 15 years. I loved my job, I loved serving and protecting people, but it took a toll on me. Being a mother, a wife, and a cop was not a healthy balance. I know the Lord needed me to do the work, but He also showed me things about myself that I needed to face. I never compromised my feminity despite my job, in fact, I embraced it and let me tell you is served me well. All the while I could be aggressive like the men when I needed to, being a woman allowed me to do things on the job the men just couldnt do. My male colleagues often joked when I was on scene, everyone just calmed down. But they also joked that I wasn't the one you wanted to fight. Inside though it was a struggle. I found myself feeling angry a lot and it impacted my home. If I was out of balance, everyone felt it. My husband who is a cop too understood the anger because we see so much evil day in and day out, but once we were home we were husband and wife so it pained him to see me struggle. Our roles were traditional despite the nature of our work being equal. We did a pretty good job raising a family despite it all and for that I am grateful. But since being retired, I can tell you that I LOVE being a wife and a homemaker. He still works and I just love keeping our home for us and taking care of him. I love just being a woman. I love not being out there anymore having to be aggressive and assertive. I serve in other ways now and am grateful to God for that. I love just being me again, not Officer P. Although I did a lot of good work in those years, I am happy just being at home taking care of things. Great episode. Timely and much needed. Thank you.

Ahahahaha I just love them dogs! 🥰 ‘Breaking free of things we’ve been taught our whole life” So very thankful for Jesus who brings freedom!!!! Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! I’m so glad that you talk on this subject and show us by your videos just what that looks like from a Biblical perspective. This is something (in addition to so many other things) that you have opened my eyes to, not just telling me how we as women should be (as a woman itself, as well as to our husbands), but showing ways on how to be that Proverbs 31 woman and just what feminity looks like. Such a timely message presented with gentleness, mercy and love. So so good!

It's lovely to hear you encouraging women to embrace their femininity but I don't feel like that's always an easy road. I'm in my sixties so was bought up to be feminine and it came naturally for me, but I have been devalued and taken advantage of by men for having these qualities. So I would add the caveat that it has to be with the right man who will respect your femininity and not look down on you or ridicule you for these qualities. As you said, it comes from a true man who protects women rather than exploiting them.

You are absolutely correct! It breaks my heart when young women “give up” their femininity. They have been sold this idea that it makes them weak; when really, this is one of their greatest strengths.
You were so profound when you said that women are pushed to become what they are told to despise-how can they not see this?

Love this SO MUCH! As one who has embraced femininity all my life and seen that being feminine does not mean being weak or "silly," nor does it mean being disrespected or taken advantage of, I've been dismayed by the trend of the last few decades that supposedly was going to empower women but has, in effect, done the exact opposite. Women who have embraced the trend are actually less respected, more taken advantage of, and viewed more as just "sex objects" than ever before. You are wise beyond your years to have perceived that it's also had an equally deleterious effect on men. Thanks so much, Lea! This is probably the most gratifying 17 minutes I've spent on RUclips!

Excellent points. Back in the 90s, I was an intern at a GE plant. The engineer who was the head of fabrication (parts stamped out of huge steel coils) was a woman. She wore the regulation steel-toed boots like everyone else and wore a lot of jeans, yet the rest of her was very feminine. She wore feminine shirts, has a feminine hairstyle, wore jewelry and makeup, and always had her nails done. It showed me that a woman can do whatever God calls her to do, but she's most effective if she does it as a woman. This woman would not have been effective if she dressed more masculine and talked more masculine. I realized that a woman can be one of the gang, but she can't be one of the boys. Also, my journey through the Bible has been a bit different in that I don't see the hierarchy between the sexes that others see; I see that as a bit worldly given history. I do see female submission as receiving and supporting and male leadership as acts of service in order to love as Christ loves the church. It all comes together as an example of Christ's command to love one another. A recent video illustrates this perfectly: a male turkey held up traffic on a road so several females could cross safely. It was wonderful!

You can be a feminine woman and a feminist and a Christian. My mother was all three. Look up Whitney Davis from Branson Missouri. She was my momma. She was feminine, feminist, and Christian, and even masculine in her own way. I think everyone is a mix of both masculine and feminine and just being yourself is the healthiest thing. My mom was just herself, and she helped so many women from helping women escape domestic abuse to bringing new moms in poverty essentials like diapers and baby formula. I am a feminist who will always appreciate femininity because the the feminism my mother showed in her life.

Totally agree with you about softness being a key defining trait of femininity. I've considered this a lot with the birth of my new daughter; how will I explain to her what it means to be a woman? Primarily it is biological but as far as character I think softness openness, nurturing, and self control/ gentleness are major components.

    • @seadragon1456
      @seadragon1456 7 месяцев назад

With tht point brought up we must also think about WHY women decided they wanted to work…
The husbands that were bringing home the bacon sometimes had side chicks. That was acceptable by society.
Some of those husbands came home and treated their wife and children horribly all because he had a bad day or they made him look bad. That was also accepted by society.
Then there were husbands that left their wife high and dry without a dime because he wanted something fun and new. That was accepted by society.
I believe if men were held accountable for their actions/behaviors women wouldn’t have chosen to educate themselves and fight to support themselves without a mans help.
The betrayal runs deep for both sides.
Finding a good marriage today will take a lot of sorting.

@@seadragon1456 you are both right, evil has done a good job destroying family. A lot of men were so bad and still are, not christian like, but now it's the same with women too. Unless both of them change it will get worse.

I've heard people say that women were ridiculed if they chose to stay at home, yet I've never actually heard anyone say that. I have heard feminists stand up for a woman's choice to stay at home just as it is a woman's choice to be a doctor, lawyer, etc. We women must support each other's calling that God has given to each of us. Society tends to treat men as individuals and women as all the same. That's just not true. We are unique individuals that each have a feminine essence and each has a different calling.
