A new custodes player has went flawless on our current campaign so far, to the point where players are talking about just giving him the win instead of even trying.
have you tried taking things with flat 3 damage? or using tanks shock/ grenades at all? They melt instantly to that. Of course it being crusade, there may be crazy fluff rules i dont know anything about
a few more notes from custodes player:
1) observe trojan. If you have aoc or -D units he is the most powerful tool a custodes has to response. You can easily predict where the opponent wants to engage with him if you have a single unit that has dmg reduction, like a ctan or something.
2) lately some custodes players started to take one shirld in their guard unit to substantially increase their resistance to dmg3. Especially taking into account ressurection strat it is surprisingly effective.
3) custodes units are so expensive stalling one for a turn is often of the same value as killing a non deathstar unit in a different army. It might feel bad to throw away a unit just to stall for 1 turn but more often than not its worth at least considering

Custodes are just pure fun to play. A few days ago i played the Knights of a m8 and he kinda hates me now (not realy but a little bit for shure)
Turn one i advance in cover (WTC Maps, i did go 2nd). Turn 2 rapid ingres 5Terminator+Captain, also advance BladeWizard with his Guard.
2xCaladius come from reserve pewpew the Knight Crusader, 4W left on him. Terminator go BRRR on Canis Rex and chip him for 3Wounds. Bladewizard charges Crusader to finish him, he explodes and i love it cause explosions are cool ^^ 3 Mortal Wounds, i fail all three one Guard ded LOL xD Terminators charge Canis and he overwatches with i 6 rolled so 2 Hits. I fail one invul, comand reroll (stupid as Custodes to waste CP like that but hey) and make it. Discarded one Secondary in R1 so i had 3CP and use the last for Salyer of Tyrants and Canis Rex dies EZ.
He got some small knights and assasins left, we called it a day and he drank a beer.
Btw, what do you think about double Caladius? Them or another 6 Terminator? Haven't got my Venatari yet otherwise i would put 2x3 in there.
Also with the point changes i can now run 2x Witchseeker and maybe 1x Prosecuters ez and my backfield is save. You think holding the backfield is important just to denie some Secondaries as Custodes or better use 100P to slap my oponent? Screening of 10Terminators or even some Deathmark is now much easier ^^
I would use those points for a lone op assasin!

From expirence playing this, this all seems pretty accurate. Just a shame my loval club members are determind to try and kill them in melee every single time

One of my 40K fellas is actually a really good player adn one of his armies is Custodes I never played my Orks into them but would really like to give it a go. I thought overwhelming him with boys would be a good go to screan him off the mid board Objectives while sending Bikers and Stormboys to do some secondaries. Really looking forward to face them.
yeah do NOT throw boys at him :P, You want to force him to kill you on HIS turn, not Your turn
@@Happykrumpingwargaming007 Haha yes, took that advice and will try to only move block the golden boys with da Green Boys. So they must fight their way through them to get the objective.

Not gonna lie, 2+/4++/4fnp is a profile I try to kill in mathhammer a lot. It's such a tough nut to crack! Makes me feel confident until I realize "Oh yeah and fights first,". 😂
hahaha, it is the correct way to do a FNP at least. It is only one phase per game
Dont forget the -1 to hit and -1 to wound!
Sorry I'm not a custodes player, is the minus 1 to wound only if the str is higher than the toughness on their wardens, or do they have another way to get it? Just checking because I'm trying to confirm when to apply it. I looked through a lot of profiles in their datasheet and watched the video a few times and I think I keep missing it @@TheXDesertfisch

Well OfCourse this comes out one day after I had a brutal fight against Bananas... I'm a wounded Ork player :/ At least I got to explode my Battle wagon and Hunta rig in this face! :D

Ad Mech has 78% win rate into custodes since dataslate. One of the few armies that can swarm primary. Also, can take away our OC, has move shoot move, and has tons of low quality shots, 350+ in one round in the army at my RTT.
i would love to play Admech with custodes. Perhaps ill run a stream on it, it sounds ludicrous that custodes would struggle much, but hey, i have been humbled before

Lol, custodes are probably in need of some points increases, but they aren’t completely broken or anything. The dev wound protection had to happen, raising points on units a bit (except praetors, those should probably go down just a bit more considering the profile) and they should be around 50% with a fair chance to win a few events
You say "do not engage" -- how does this look with WE if you don't have access to Lord of Skulls or other real shooting?

what do you care about dbl caladius? you will kill them eventually with NDK, and then you will save on 3+s against them with ACO and cover.
Admech breachers absolutely wreck my custodes. Admech is actually a bad matchup for us because of all the trash screening and breachers
I would have to experience it to believe it. I have been humbled before! Perhaps I can get a high level admech player on stream
I am a Necron player and have seen my rules consistently nerfed while Custodes has been buffed. Under the best of circumstances, I can not beat regular Custodes units. I see the tournament armies that win, but they don’t remotely resemble a normal person’s collection. I’m not running 3 C’tan’s and scarab swarms as an army.

@@Happykrumpingwargaming007 im hoping the consistency that comes with the aeldari detachment rule is able to allow me to attempt to keep up with the consistency of the banana boys 2+ and 4++ saves . My friend has just rerolled to custodes after forsaking Deathwatch... Don't blame him too much lol
