I bought a PW Dandy Dan rhododendron last year! The deer at every leaf on it. I’ve had older rhododendrons for 35 years and deer never ate them. I hope it comes back. It was a huge investment
We are so sorry to hear this Christine, we often recommend spraying a plant with Plantskydd spray once a month. This is an organic spray that is systemic, it changes the taste of the plant...vs. topical which can just wash away in the rain. If you cannot find it locally try online sources, and after using it be sure to clear the nozzle by spraying water until the clear tube is water only.
We have an idea board that lists plants that rabbits tend to ignore, but there is never a guarantee! Here is a link,www.provenwinners.com/ideaboard/273673
As we are sure you know, deer resistance varies across the country, and by plant. We do not mean to insinuate that a deer will not touch these varieties, but there is a higher chance of resistance with the plants we focused on in this video. Thanks so much for watching!
It's tacky to casually insinuate that deer damage provides sellers more opportunities to sell more plants. The gross expense of landscaping materials and plants makes this impossible for so many. Breeders and sellers should join forces with states and localities to better manage overpopulated deer herds. You will no longer have a business if deer issues are allowed to continue because people will give up due to the cost.
We do not test all of our plants for rabbit resistance, but if we have noted that, or if the plant has a trait that does repel rabbits, it is noted on the plant info page. Thanks for watching!
Disappointed that these are mostly for Zone 7 and lower. Would love to see options for zones 8+.
Sorry to hear that Kristin, we will share this comment with our plant team.

Can you make a program for rabbit resistance?

What about natives? This mostly suggests non native invasives

I love Proven Winners but “Deer Resistant “ not “Deer Proof” would have been the accurate choice of words.
