Fowlers are my favourite makers, the B6 road loco is my favourite Fowler, and this is my favourite B6. An absolute beauty and a credit to the late Len Crane.
I absolutely love seeing this beutiful piece of mechanical engineering trundling along the freeway with all the cars going by. You are one lucky owner. Much love from the States
For that much steel rolling down the road it sure is quiet. Even when idling if it wasn't for the smoke, looking at a distance you wouldn't even know it was running. Magnificent
I really like this channel. My second video I'm watching of yours, really very lovely nostalgia of days past before life got distracting, loud, and electronic. I really appreciate your content very much. I will be watching as much of your videos here as I can. Cheers!🙂
Wonderful to see the engine being well looked after 👍 Len was a great engineer from the Black country who I first met when he ran trucks from his yard in Oldbury West Midlands and also saw him many times at the Newhall street rally Birmingham Science Museum each May, the only street rally in a City Center location.
Привет. как жизнь ? Интересуюсь паровой техникой , хотел бы создать , что нибудь но более современное. Есть от у вас возможность достать чертежи такого трактора или хотябы его двигателя ? Заранее спасибо .
I believe some old factory drawings of Fowler engines are still available. One person (Dave Eves) made a totally correct replica showmand Super Lion engine called "Onward" working from factory drawings.
Should be all sorted by now. The LP side was fully fixed at the side of the road once a source of 3/8" Whit bolts was located and brought 2 miles down the road to where the engine was. The issue on the HP side was identified the next morning and the offending lubricator taken back to workshop facilities to sort. I believe the engine should be out at its next event as planned a week today. Both issues were fairly minor things - just at the side of the road with few facilities to hand and limited daylight it reached a point where it was better to phone ahead to the destination to request a lift rather than push on and risk causing damage which would take far more time to resolve.
Firstly thanks for sharing this clip. Would you know what type of crane work the engine undertook during its working life ? Was the crane original build or added later Thanks
It has been used for such stunts in the past. One year at the Welland steam rally there was an arena show which saw a scrap-yard car run over by an ex-military tank. The remains were then picked up by this engine to be taken out of the arena.
Many a time in the past I loaded logs onto the sawbench at GDSF with Lenny and his beautiful engine. RIP Lenny and RIP GDSF!

They are pretty spectacular

Beautifully filmed narrative video. I love the lack of voice overs enabling the engine to be really heard. A masterpiece
🇬🇧
Excellent video, and such glorious whistle sounds! Steam is king.
This is just a beautiful scene all the way around. Bravo.

The Fowler is still owned by Jane and run by good friends - it's still very much appreciated and looked after.
Camera work and editing very professional
This fowler is amazing I just love this engine and the brown looks really good on it such good filming hope I see it at a rally one day!
This engine has been in Belgium and Holland over the years.... under ownership of Crane....
Still owned by the same family, although both Len and Jane have passed away now.
@@IACooperNice to hear that the engine is still in the same family & is being cared for...
👍👍
С автокранами работаем, но такого Чуда, не видели.

Nice
Amazing this video
Any more details of the lubrication problem? Big end on the LP?
Is the engine 2 or 3 speed?
Thank you for sharing.

Isn't it the one from Peaky Blinders?🌚
I think I recognized it.
Yes, the owner lived not far from The Black Country Museum where a certain amount of the series was filmed, so it was a local engine.

Amazing Back to 1925
Actually 1929
better safe than sorry with this old gal.
I would have liked to see it pick up a car with crane.

you crane
People behind you from miles are calling you everything but a human
