5pm Sunday arvo in Oz so put the mower away, grab a beer and watch Mike's latest vid. A lovely old Bimmer with a chair. Thanks mate.
My dad had an R-50 rig when I was young. It was heavy with the hack attacked, but on its own, the Earles fork made it plush.
An amazing story of a motorcycle and a family. A family that not just owned a motorcycle. But used it to make wonderful memories. The smiles on the father and son is a true testament.
old beemers. Lovely bit of kit
When that bike came into the cul-de-sac it was so quiet I was fooled into thinking it had an original engine but anyway it sounds great and Jake is obviously an expert pilot ! 🇬🇧
What a fun video. The front disc setup looks to be a mashup of late 70s Suzuki rotors and Early Honda calipers.
Love the family legacy & story behind the machine. Also I'd like to award maximum style points for cul-de-sac arrival and exit! 👍 Thanks as always Mike for sharing.
What an interesting BMW, sounds like it has many a tale to tell,
with a great history, it could turn on a sixpence, I’m sure 😀
A real keeper 👍
Keep smiling Mike, have a good one ☕️😎
What a cool bike, and such a good story to go with it.
What a great story, very warming
Great visit to the cul-de-sac! Would be good to see their other bikes in the future and hear more from them. I kinda want a sidecar now!! 😂😊👍
In the '90s there was a group"Sign of the Twins" I think in Redwood City, Ca that had fantastic examples of these. R69/S, R60/2s and R75/5 w/ sidecars. Always smiling like a kid in a candy store, those riders. Joe Groger was a big part of it.
Another fascinating and interesting story. Thanks.
Great story Mike ,when i was in hospital in my late teens (bike related!!) My mate had a motorcycle and sidecar and used to bring my mum to visit me,She loved it😂
Our local sidecarist would "fly the hack" at highway speeds with two large sheep dogs aboard.
The dogs especially loved it !!
Hey,Mike, great story of the family-three-wheeler! Loved it! Greetings from northern Germany Manfred
Great combi and story👌
Thanks for sharing guys, John & Jake talking about the 'outfit' (as we knew them) back then like an old friend. Love to hear the stories of 'reliability' & how people got over those occasions when 'extra' roadside assistance was required.
Have a great week Mike. atvb t .. 😉 .. 😂 .. 😂 .. 👍 .. 🏍
DISCOS DE FRENO !!!!!
Enjoyed the video Mike. Bikes with sidecar are awesome Ride safe!
My neighbour across the street came home at 3am one morning with a newly acquired R75/5 and sidecar. He went in to bed so I hunted around in the shed for a large cardboard box and a carpet tube core, quickly sprayed them black and wired them on to the sidecar as a "machine gun", it looked great and we toured the town in it the next day. Fun times
Quite an interesting story. Retro-mods always end up being bigger projects than one thinks.
Being a combo guy I thoroughly enjoyed this Mike, thank you. I’m sorry I didn’t run into you at Barber. Would been so cool to meet you.
purché siano rispettate tutte le modifiche previste per l'uso con sidecar: molle anteriori, ingranaggi cambio e coppia conica, freno idraulico ruota carrozzino, contachilometri, carrozzino Steib 500 (non Dnepr/Ural).
In the 60s and 70s in Paris, all deliveries of daily newspapers were made in side-car (often serie 2 ) to go as fast as possible ! 😉
GREAT VIDEO ,
Was the circular bar
The drivers back rest or a passenger grab bar
as always , I love your videos
Couple of bags of cement in the chair would help a bit....lovely old bike
Which shop in Redwood City? Sad that Joe has left us
