    Hey Kris! Thanks for the review and totally appreciate the feedback.
    We’d love to clarify that if you’ve ended your subscription, any videos you’ve published during your active subscription, will remain safe online from claims. However, if you keep uploading videos using our music or sound effects (after you’ve cancelled) you will need an active ES subscription when publishing the video.
    We hope this helps clear things up! We’re more than happy to help if you or anyone ever has any questions, or specific instances of this happening, so please feel free to reach out either through our customer support or social channels 🤝

      Hi there,
      Thanks for watching, and thanks for commenting. I guess for a lot of businesses, this doesn't work very well. If I provide my client with a video this year, and they want to post it again next year, but I have cancelled my plan, we will find ourselves in a pretty tricky situation. Not sure how you would solve this, but I def. think videos should have a longer life time than from production to publishing. Otherwise, I as a filmmaker will be forced to have such a subscription forever. That's not a fair way of doing business, in my opinion.

    artlist told me that if a client posts a video after i end my subscription that it won't be covered. i've got client videos that they're planning to post later this year and artlist are essentially strong arming me into renewing my subscription otherwise the client videos will get strikes when they post them. i got receipts for all this, its shady af

      That's unfortunate... It seems unreasonable, I agree. I guess it's hard for them to monitor this in a different way. But this is also why I don't trust them as much as before. They were my go-to when I knew I could use their music without clearing it, and I thought the license card was enough proof.

    • @LiamSolo
      @LiamSolo 4 месяца назад +3

      @@kriswarwick they should at least allow you to clear songs after your subscription, that you've downloaded during your subscription, but they said no to that to me.I have to keep my sub until all my clients have posted their videos which will likely take at least a year. Artlist won, they beat me, they wont change their policy for me so I have no choice but to pay for another year in full and also not use their songs for client work otherwise it'll just happen again with the new videos. I just want people to know about the trap they're setting, maybe there's legal options but I have no clue.

    For me, it’s Artlist, mostly because it has a ton to offer with music, stock 13:58 footage, templates, FX and voiceovers. I’ve never liked the music from Epidemic Sound and I had issues with Musicbed’s customer service that I can’t accept even if that’s changed. The experience was bad enough for me to not work with them again even if just in principle. Yes, the music is probably the best, but I have access to to a lot of music from Artlist, Audiosocket, Filmpac and Audiio. I also use AI generated music from Udio for personal projects and I’m a musician myself.

    • @kriswarwick
      @kriswarwick  3 месяца назад

      That makes sense!
      I understand that your experience, just like mine, was poor. I also understand what you're saying about principles. For me I think the fact that they reached out, actually listened and changed the way they handled things, was enough for me to give them a second chance.
      I strongly believe in second chances if people or businesses make an effort. But that's just me!
      Do you compose music for your own videos?

    Thanks for the video and for the update on Musicbed! It's great to see them being so creator-oriented and willing to listen and change, I always respect that in any company.
    As a side note, you have a small typo in your description, the timestamp for Musicbed has a stray colon symbol after the time itself and it doesn't register as a chapter in the video. Might want to fix that. Cheers! :)

      I am happy I am not the only one thinking that. I honestly think this is the best kind of test for a company. If they are willing to admit to their wrongs, and make changes, I will forever respect them.
      Thanks a lot. I will change this asap!

    Hey Kris, thank you for putting out quality content, I thoroughly enjoy your content! I am a beginner filmmaker and professional photographer. I don't make films as regularly. I am considering Audiio as music solution because I am not able to spare 413 CAD for Artist Annual plan or 114 CAD monthly plan for Musicbed or 330.94 CAD Annual plan for Epidemic Sound.
    Do you think Audiio Pro plan would work good with me as I may not need lot of songs if I am creating maybe one or two videos a month? Should I rather choose 27.58 CAD per month plan? Artist and others don't offer monthly plans.
    I intend to make films for myself and clients.

      As I haven't used Audiio myself, I can't comment on their services. I think you have to look at what terms they have, and if the music satisfies your needs.
      I would like to emphasize that providers like Musicbed offer monthly payments but a one-year plan.

      @@kriswarwick Hi Kris, thanks for responding.
      I spent a whole day yesterday looking for music on Audiio and I was rather disappointed with lack of option, specially when as a beginner, I dont have skills to make any music sounds good with video.
      I cant hide but accept that I like Artlist way more and what they are offering right now. I know I will never need more than 3 channels per platform but also know that I am clear for any OTT or SVOD platforms and broadcast for less than 100 employees.
      The only issue is the stiff price.

    Thank you for this video!
    So if I went with Musicbed, and did a promotional video job for a small 10-person company(who will use it on IG as their own), will I have to remain on Musicbed indefinitely in order to use the license? Or can I comfortably leave Musicbed and the copyright will still be valid with the client?

    • @kriswarwick
      @kriswarwick  4 месяца назад

      Yes, but terms apply. See what Musicbed wrote on this question:
      Licenses purchased from our site (standard on-site licenses) website are granted for a perpetual term. This means that the license never expires or loses legitimacy specific to the original project for which the license was granted. Should you desire to use a song licensed to you by Musicbed for another project, a separate license will be required. For Custom licenses, the term will be up for negotiation between the client, the artist, and Musicbed.
      In order for subscription licenses to remain valid in perpetuity, the 12-month term of the subscription must be completed. Early cancellation of a subscription will result in any licenses issued under the subscription to become null and void.

      This is what I find the hardest myself. It was easier when you didn't NEED to clear videos with Artlist. With Musicbed I find it super easy, as I just provide my clients with a code that they can add to the description of the RUclips-video!

    What do you mean with „clearing“ a video?

    • @kriswarwick

      Clearing a video means that the video won't get any music right claims. This again means that you can use it, make money on it and use the music for client work :)

    why is MusicBed so more expensive?

    • @kriswarwick
      @kriswarwick  Месяц назад

      I like to compare it to everything else in life. We usually pay more for a better product, and something that is more premium. I like that Musicbed has taken on the role as the premium music provider, and with that have services and products their competitors can't compete with. I think all of us wish that an iPhone was cheaper, but we still buy it or dream about buyin it. Just like I dreamed about having Musicbed as my main provider, because they were simply better. Have a look at my latest video to learn more about Musicbed and why I think they are superior.
