One of my favorite sci-di series is the skyward series by Brandon Sanderson. It’s a light and easy ya read with really fun characters, plot, and a lot of cool lore completely separate from the cosmere (at least as far as we know). Another great sci-fi book is one of if not my favorite book of all time: The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August. It’s a really poignant and action packed historical sci-fi following a man who is reborn every time he dies. It’s a bit more fantasy, but it’s really good and has one of the best twists I’ve ever seen at the end. Tw on that one for suicide and torture.

And have read Jurassic Park--don't expect it to follow the movie. :) Flowers for Algernon is poignant. As she said, it is beautiful. Have read Girls with Sharp Sticks--unlike the reviewer, I found where it was going painfully obvious. "Painful" because there was no subtlety whatsoever in the book, and I'm genuinely puzzled as to why reviewers would say it had many plot twists that could give you "whiplash" , or that you'd never see coming. Even the back of the book hints pretty strongly at what will happen. And the poetry is horrible--no need to interpret ambiguous phrasing; what the poems mean is also obvious. I’m half way through The Three Body Problem and I regret watching this video because it spoils that book so badly!
I'm sorry that you felt that way. Everything that the person says about this book is in the synopsis on Goodreads so I don't believe it is very spoilery but I'm sorry if it did spoil something for you.
@@BreakevenBooks I usually don’t read the synopsis for this reason.
It spends half of the book building up the mystery behind “Three Body” and who is behind that. And it’s exactly what she reveals in the video.
Nevermind. It’s a great video overall. I really enjoyed and I put several titles of by TBT list!
@@Cosmic-Industry oh I see. That makes sense! I'm sorry it impacted your reading experience for this one 😔. Thanks. I tried to get a variety of booklovers to share what they like in the genre and it was fun to see all the recs.
@@BreakevenBooks
No worries! I’m nearly there anyway!
I’m sorry, I should have phrased my comment better. English is not my first language and sometimes I may sound harsher than I intend.
This is an awesome content and I thank you for this!
