    awesome, huge fish. great accomplishment. all those who poopoo you for shooting a fish don't think about the turkey and ham they are going to eat tomorrow, or the burger they get at mcchoken'pukes but are happy to criticize you for legally harvesting a beautiful fish that is pure, tasty protein. keep the videos coming!!

    I am impressed, I just getting int spearfishing,hours and hours of videos, learning a lot,but so much to learn, I am 64 100% disabled, I been training my breathing at the Y going on 4 weeks.I know how important it is to train,I can’t walk much, but I can swim, also doing equalizer hears, very important, I called a diving outfit,I plan on taking private lessons. Thanks

    I grew up on grassy key in the 70s. I would dive hawks channel a litte over 40 feet. Got many grouper back then. Deepest i dove was 70 and thst was very hard even in my prime. 85 feet? Your a rock star! Tjanks

    Is that a grouper?... I had heard that it was illegal to harvest giant grouper. You can land them, and take a picture, but you had to catch and release. Did rules change?

      it is illegal to harvest a Goliath grouper, this is a black grouper. 100% legal and in season

    Very cool. I would have to go back to the 80's to secure a fish at 84 ft. Glad you had some help. There were some huge cubera around St Thomas but they were ciguatoxic.

    Just watching got me tired lol. I’ve been thru that several times & actually I started keeping a tank on the boat for shit like that although it’s very gratifying to pull that bad boy out on a breath hold. It makes your life so much easier to be able to go down and take your time.

    how does a grouper that size taste like? is it dangerous to eat?

      nope, common myth is a fish that size is inedible. groupers this size are sold to the market and restaurants all the time!
