This is beautiful! I am using my Clover Amour crochet hooks for the first time. To be sure I didn't make my foundation chain too tight, I used a 5.5 and switched back to 5.0 to start my first row, and complete this gorgeous hooded scarf.
Super bulky yarn - I have this #6 yarn that is so pretty and i would like to try to make this with it. ANy idea how much yarn I would need using this? I don't want to start it with this yarn if I don't have enough. Pattern is is beautiful! I cant wait to make one. Thanks!!
HI. Would you plz tell me how many bead stitches and bar stitches we are to have across? Very beginner and having a hard time keeping my deges straight with the different stitches. TU!
I made two of these as gifts for chrismas , I didn't get good feed back , they all said it looked like a scarf with pockets . They wanted it wider so in order to cover shoulders and arms I'm going to do the repeat at lest 8x.
I'm fairly new to crochet. I don't understand your 2 - 5th row. You say to go into the back bar but it looks like you are going into a front bar. Everything I've seen that says to go into the back bar or loop goes over the top to the back loop of the "V" -please help.
Hi yes this stitch is a little bit different and it was filmed a little while ago when my camera wasn't the best so I am sorry that it is difficult to see. It is hard to explain without showing it so I could try to do a short video on It next week, but if you look at the back of a treble crochet you will see a little bump that is vertical you want to work into that little bump. I am so sorry that I can't explain it better, if you find it easier you could just work into the back loop of the stitch like normal or your could work half trebles and work into the back loop and it will give a similar effect. But I will try to make a short little video on it next week. I hope this helps.
@@hooks.andneedles1 I really like the pattern of this shawl so I really hope you will put out a new video on this. (I'll be waiting 😊). And thank you for your response.

Hi there, new subscriber here😊 Just wanted to thank you for sharing such a beautiful pocket scarf pattern!!! I’m using red heart hygge yarn. It’s a bulky 5, very silky soft and fuzzy yarn so I had to adjust my foundation chain a bit but worked out great using an even number of chains. You did an amazing job explaining everything I didn’t have any trouble at all following along with you! Can’t wait to try some other projects of yours…thanks again!!!😊
Hi I'm so glad that you liked it. Your choice of yarn sounds perfect I'm sure you will get a beautiful snuggly shawl at the end of it. Thank you so much your kind comment has made my day I'm so glad that you could follow along. Happy crocheting xx
I am slowly realizing how much I HATE using Caron simply soft for anything. Those bead stitch row? Yeah, CSS yarn comes across as so thin and slippery that that row looks like it's got a bunch of gaps in it as opposed to what YOUR row looks like. 🤓😭😞😞😡😡
It's a shiny yarn but is WAY too thin for this...and of course I had done all the first 5 row of DC when I realized after doing 1 10th of the bead stitch row that this yarn SUCKS for this project. 😭😭😭😞😞😞😡😡😡
Yes but if you do want to make it longer or smaller you can by just adapting the number of chains as long as they are still in the same multiple. Hope that helps have a go at different sizes and find what works for you.
Hi there, I am a new subscriber and just found you here. Can you tell me where to find the written pattern for this pocket shawl? Your video is super helpful but I also like a written pattern to refer to as well. Your instructions are spot on. Thanks so much!
I am a beginner, so I’m watching the videos first, and pausing to write the pattern as I watch. Then I will go back and actually try to make the shawl by watching, and following the pattern I wrote down. Also makes it easier cuz then I can check off the row/instructions as I go along. also, it makes it clearer for me as I need the American stitches.
Ok I think I fixed the black out...what I wish. now, is that you might mention, the right side an wrong side of the work, it would be less confusing for me... I 've got all your beautiful stitches down...just think I got the right side n wrong side mixed up...Sorry...I can't wait to finish this shawl.
Hi, I know I'm sorry it is quite difficult to see. It is sometimes known as the third loop and it is at the back of the stitch. Don't worry though I think some people have used the half treble crochet and worked in the back loop only which gives the same effect so maybe try that and see if that works for you. If not you can always just work normal treble crochet. I hope that helps.
❤️❤️ this pattern. I have a question. After I do the dc twice wrapped, when I get to the end and do the last dc/wrapped... the what? Do I do a dc at the top of that chain 4? I love you videos, but I would love to see more of how you end your rows. Sometimes when you say I’ll meet you at the end , you have already finished the row. I hate to mention this because I love your work., but when you have to rewind to see to remember what to do at the end it’s hard until you’ve done it a couple of times. Thank you for a great pattern!
Than you so much I really appreciate the feedback and will try to keep that in mind for the future. In answer to your question yes you do finish with a dc in the top of the chain 4 and you finish each row like that in order to get a nice straight edge. I hope that helps and I hope it didn't cause too many problems. Good luck.
I am almost done with your pocket scarf. Can you please let me know how many twice wrapped double rows there are? The part 2 dc section is not matching part 1 dc section. When you said in part 2, you should end on sc , is that on the right side or wrong side.
the shawl is quite long to begin with but you can always adjust by increasing the number of foundation chains by the multiple in the video. this way the patteren and stitches will still work but the project will be slightly wider. Also then you may need another ball if your piece is longer so I would maybe increase the yarn too. I really hope that helps and answers your question. remember you can always adapt to what suits you!!!
