The yellow tops are deep cycles as well... could be wrong but I think they are the only deep cycle that can properly crank aswell. Blue top is just a marine version. I’ve got two yellow tops in my truck, that way I can crank off the second battery if I need to.
I like how every feature on this series has almost the exact same accessories. That's how you know they're using good stuff. You Aussies do it right... unlike all the crappy trucks here in the US
singletrackftw exactly over her in australia i notice the 4x4 are beautys everything else not as much the us is a horrid place for 4x4 i have a defender 110 and i have every thing on it made bye me exept the lift kit tires that stuff but bull bars roof racks underside protection fuel tank
@@bruce-df9nu why you have a 110.,landrover are rubbish.expensive any where,everything comes from u.k.,diffs no good,rust,gutless,.sell it,buy a jk,or c20 or bronco 78,something decent.dont buy a toyota,same as landrover.
I dont think it is always the CV angle that causes them to break. In my opinion it is the sheer size of the tyre, A 33 is a lot of mass. A 33'' front wheel spinning in the air then coming down and to a sudden stop will break them. I'd like to know how he broke them.
I can't imagine modding my luxxy like that. I'll happily keep to my alloy tray and beach-running ATs... save the heavy mods for when I have the money 😂
because the 4wd accessory installers insist on it as its easier for them to install them. More work to put them on top and most people are either unaware of it or don't want to pay the extra money. I got one on the roof and one on the bar. The roof one is 10 times better.
Thank you so much for your reply! That makes sense now. I was wondering the reason behind this all along! I have no antenna on my rig except one for fm radio, but then again, I do live on an island which is 27km long so no real need for long range comms. :)
Hi Ronnie. love your talk style . Question. All of the dual cabs have the rear wheels/axle close up behind the cab with aprox two thirds of the tray overhanging. why dont the manufacturers lengthen the chasis on the dualies?
Thanks for the heads up on the Extreme modifications required.. It looks like you have just about reconfigured the entire drive train.. Is there a way to stop the front CV shafts from easily breaking, or do you carry spares with you on your adventures?
Hi there cool rig, but can it be cooled with all this gear closing the radiator intake effectively? Me being in a hot Country and aware of overheating due to lighting and winch fixed in front of the radiator intake, we measured cars with gear fixed like this and found that temperature will rise on the engine / AC up to 15% ..just saying. But cool rig.
Want quick tire fill try going CO2. I haven't run it yet since I just use a compressor still but wheel with a few mates that have it. Can fill a 35 from 14psi to 34psi in under a minute.
here I am thinking man this Hilux looks boss compared to mine. turns out every thing his done ive almost done the same however I've already got the diff lock, just not the body lift yet.
actually we have a massive market in the states for true offroaders. we just don't have thousands of thousands of square miles with basically nothing in them and endless wheeling opportunities. off road capabilities wise, my trucks are just as, if not more capable than these, for the most part there is no need to carry an entire camp with you
Brandon Richter well i will correct you our vechiles in australia are a lot more reliable and capable than your american vechike that are massive heavy and only have lift kits we have all of this gear because our country is extremly dangerouse if you run out of water fuel and wverything and the animals are deadly in australia unlike your country
Brandon Richter no we don't. We have ARB USA. And at that they don't carry nearly as much stock as ARB AU. Rough country is cheap and no good. There's plenty of places to go off-roading. Just not really in the south, north, or east. East like Connecticut has nothing because of how developed it is, Rhode Island has driving beaches, north like New Hampshire doesn't have much because it's mostly ATV/snowmobile trails up there. Out west there's plenty of offroad trail opportunities that make great over landing opportunities. Couple examples, Mojave Road, Rubicon trail, etc.
bruce 130013 not to mention over landing requires more gear. It's not just "wheelin" like most say around here cause that's all they can do. People don't understand the difference between mudding/wheelin and actual off-roading.
Wasn't trying to spur a discussion about US vs Australia. Either country could do with a custom rear setup. I just wish there was someone offering these solutions state side. Most guys here have a different mentality of using some sort of rack on the bed rather than removing the bed and doing a full custom setup like what www.outbackcustoms.com.au/ can make.
Thanks Ronny. Love your modified series, espacially when it comes to Hilux. Where do you buy those Xrox Bars. Can´t find them on the internet. Good day ..
I always like seeing other people's solution to things. But...Ronny......avoid the urge to repeat what the guest says...you did that for too often in the first half of the video. We east coasters ( U.S. ) are very jealous of all the awesome terrain you guys have. Patreon donators are feeling a little deprived of exclusive content :)
I see so many Hilux in Vic, it's a cult here. Cracks me up when you see them up the High Country bogged or stuck in the thick stuff, City people just think it will do anything because it's a Hilux, lol.
lol, i reckon every country has one mate, great for work and heading up the river but so many times i see the standard model stuck, end up having to pull them out. Once their get all the kit on them and a raise they go good.
MOOSEDOWNUNDER yeah very true. Many of them claim because it's jeep they can go anywhere. And hate on Toyotas or other brands too. Gotta love it when you pull them out haha
I have the same model but a V6 and honestly, it's so much better than the diesel, it's got more power, drives better, less servicing, but aussies are just OBSESSED with DIESEL fuel so values of the petrol v6 are junk compared to the DIESEL.. glad I'm not planning to sell.
any body know of the law in nsw for lift kits ,been told 2 inch is the legal height yet see a tonne of 4x4s way over this , I foned a engineering/suspension firm in Sydney , they said over 2inches has to go for a swerve test and so on , this right????
Looks like a bolt face or screw in the tire at 7:55, maybe a tire plug?
Love these videos. Real people, real cars.
The yellow tops are deep cycles as well... could be wrong but I think they are the only deep cycle that can properly crank aswell. Blue top is just a marine version. I’ve got two yellow tops in my truck, that way I can crank off the second battery if I need to.
I've been waiting so long for hilux to get reviewed
Wow, the sub woofer and amp set up is the cream on the top of this build. Love it. Second the motion for a DMax mod!
I like how every feature on this series has almost the exact same accessories. That's how you know they're using good stuff. You Aussies do it right... unlike all the crappy trucks here in the US
singletrackftw we need more market in the United States for real offroad accessories and stuff. Not the bald Mickey Thompsons on a rough country lift.
singletrackftw exactly over her in australia i notice the 4x4 are beautys everything else not as much the us is a horrid place for 4x4 i have a defender 110 and i have every thing on it made bye me exept the lift kit tires that stuff but bull bars roof racks underside protection fuel tank

great show , full of great questions and mods ,I get a lot of ideas from this show
sensible mods to the lux, thanks for sharing Mitch.
nice rig and good to see Ronnie finally get a real tradesman on!!
Those max tracks pins, I purchased some of them, they came with mild steel bolts, rusted solid after a year or so.
Wish we could get these in the states.I see them come up from Mexico every now and then and they really are cool
Awesome Yota! Thanks Mitch for showing your truck, really good ideas!
Having a scoop that big with air not directed to the intercooler, will cause a vacuum effect under the hood. Causing the engine to run hotter
Hey mate got a question do your side mirrors got black covers on them if they are where did you purchase them from
Thanks mate
This is a fantastic looking ute!

I didn’t even know there such a thing as phone reception strengthener! Wow where can I buy one??
Awesome set up
19:15 holy shit even the plastic is rusted. Might want to skip the next lightbar upgrade and spend some money under the bonnet.
The man loves is 4wd Supacentre
Ronnie its bed time in the UK! Promise I'll watch it tomorrow.
You are 1 hour behind me and I watched it, so no excuses
HILUX The best of pickup OffRoad ... NICE VIDEO !
Nice hilux,& good setup, the tec screw inbetween the center treadblock @ 7:57 made me lol though, wouldnt mind seeing another d22 navara either
Built to be used ... Well done
Let's have a Colorado on modified,I know you have one coming up,another great episode Ronny 👍
colarado/hilux/nissan/bt50,triton,ranger,[bt50],...NO FKN DIFFERENCE.!!!!
You don't need to cut the body mount to fit 33's. Max out the castor with +10 offset and it's all good.
i have a new hilux with 3 inch lift at front do you reckon I should still change my UCA's? or can I achieve pos 10 caster with stock UCA's?
Not sure about the current model Hilux mate. Cheers
twentyfoursyc but do you think when i changed my UCA's and max my caster i could fit 33x12.5 r17s?
I can only speak for 2005-2015 Hilux mate. Know nothing about the new one.
Alright thanks anyway mate.
@ronny What's the reason for putting the antennas in the front of the vehicle rather than on top?
because the 4wd accessory installers insist on it as its easier for them to install them. More work to put them on top and most people are either unaware of it or don't want to pay the extra money.

Worth the wait! 30min episode too :^)
All about those modified episodes
Have you guys tried electric turbos? Curious how they would aid in off-roading as less waiting for spool up.
Great vid,, Like Hilux but never seen one in the states.please update us on Brian's Jeep rebuild when u can.
hilux are over priced gutless pieces of crap.allways have been ,&,prone to rolling.
would be cool if you could do a defender 110 or 130
+Brown Bomber will editing a 130 episode soon
Ronny Dahl Any Chevy's or GMC?
i think they got Chevrolet S10 but in australia its called Holden Colorado Thunder or something like that
+Cameron Reynolds Pretty rare in Aust, let alone modified
holden Colorado rg
Finally a hilux.

Raise the rear of the hood up 1/2 up and you will get better heat control over jamming air into the engine bay

Watching TV, got a Ronny Dhal notification......to hell with TV mate.
Any ideas on that windscreen sticker?
As always great vid Ronny 👍
If you’ve got a 4” lift but then drop the diff 2”, wouldn’t this give you only 2” lift essentially?
what's the total lift including body lift suspension and wheels compared to factory stock version.
i like your videos Ronny. by the way, you guys have a very special accent in Australia) hello from Kazakhstan.
Hey Ronny love the series. I would love to see a 40 series on modified. Has to be a toyota chassis and engine though
Question: What was your job(s) before youtube and how did you afford your rig and everything?
I've done 210000kms in my 08 D4D Lux and haven't had any issues with my injectors yet but I know people that have had to replace them at 50k.
Thomas Ward do you change your fuel filter?
great trucks,I drive a 2005 Toyota tundra TRD off road
Will there be an Amarok Modified episode?
These custom rear setups are killing me. No one in the US is doing this type of setup.
actually we have a massive market in the states for true offroaders. we just don't have thousands of thousands of square miles with basically nothing in them and endless wheeling opportunities. off road capabilities wise, my trucks are just as, if not more capable than these, for the most part there is no need to carry an entire camp with you

Would love to see a VW Amarok Ronny
Hey Ronny, it would be absolutely awesome if you could find an do a review on a Holden Rodeo TF!!
I wish we had these in the States. I would love to have a diesel Hilux.
have you came across a modified Subaru Forester? Would love a video
good stuff, do you mind including contents like what mpg they are making. Also a review of Nissan Y61 or the new Y62.
Ronny hopefully you can find a Ln106 hilux 89-97 to do! 2.8D would be awesome for us solid axle hilux owners
hey Ronny any old school Prado 90 series coming up?
Wait so for airing up and airing down, do I need to install a tank? Or can I just use the compressor in itself?
Just use the compressor 4 airing up, buy a tyre deflator to me them down
Thanks Ronny. Love your modified series, espacially when it comes to Hilux. Where do you buy those Xrox Bars. Can´t find them on the internet.

Model yers ?
I think I would've liked this video more had the Hilux owner been a bit more enthusiastic! Great job by Ronny, however!
Hey mate what is the bonnet scoop off? The luxy off cntr also drives me crazy
It's an aftermarket copy of a 79 series scoop, Monster Rides also do a large centred scoop that bolts in to the factory hole (no cutting).
@@tareskisloki8579 chers mate i got a 79 series scoop have molded on n cut out alot of bonnet ya ute look looks sick mate
