When Jor-El would take his wife out to a nice fancy dinner on Planet Krypton, they'd often have a guy like this playing the piano to create a romantic ambiance. He'd always open up his set with this song!
Hahahaha - amazing. 👏
Beautiful as always. I love the line cliche John Williams used here. Together with the melody that perfectly combines leaps and steps it has so much weight. Incredible.
One of the great symphonic openings of any film!
Such an Epic overture for this movie....
Couldn't agree more - superhero pose in musical form!
❤❤😍😍woooh 👍👏👏
Thanks, Kevin! 🙏
Very emotional piece and your solo piano version really captures the atmosphere of this epic Superhero masterpiece. I always think of this instrumental as a eulogy to honour the memory and the incredible legacy of Chris Reeve. Thankyou for your arrangement. I hope you tour to Australia at some point. 😊
I had never thought of this as an elegy for Christopher, but I think I always will from this moment forward. It's a stunning piece, and truly worthy of his memory and legacy. Hope to see all my friends Down Under in the near future!
Bravo
Thank you! 🙏
Emozionante. Capolavoro. Complimenti. Ciao
Grazie mille, Rocco. 🙏
Incredible work, as usual, Brett. This gave me just as many goosebumps as the entire London Symphony Orchestra.
What a compliment - thanks so much, Chris!
how good it is to hear this sound, it's like traveling in time, in the past, thank you very much Mr. Mitchell for providing us with this time travel through this soundtrack. a hug and may God bless you 🙏🏻🤗
My pleasure - so glad you enjoyed this!

now I see You have two john williams figures lol love it
✌️🤓
I Believe that Director Richard Donner and Film Editor Stuart Baird Temp 2001 A Space Odyssey Theme here. It comes awful close to what John Williams and The London Symphony Orchestra Performed! 😜 Another Great Job Brett!
Haha - a little Richard Strauss goes a long way! (And the Love Theme from 'Superman' sure sounds like the Transfiguration Theme from 'Tod und Verklärung,' too!)
I'd love to see a CD or digital release of your work. Any more plans for Star Trek: The Motion Picture? "The Meld" or "Leaving Drydock" would be amazing.
Thanks for your kind words, Christopher! Re STTMP, I'll be arranging and recording Ilia's Theme later this year, and also have 'Leaving Drydock' on my list. (And if you haven't seen it, here's 'A Good Start': ruclips.net/video/1uhYXsNO9sE/видео.html)
Oh my god I was just searching to see if you had done this one like a week ago. One of my faves! Amazing work as always
So glad you enjoyed it, Keith!
Gorgeous!

Beautiful.
Thanks, Jasen!
Another excellent job!!
Thanks, Rob!
Amazing ❤
Thank you!
Love it!
Thanks so much! 🙏
majestic piece. so hard for me to do with just 2 hands haha
I definitely picked up a lot of notes with some creative hand-crossing - such a joy to play!
Adorei esta versão! Parabéns!
Muito obrigado!
This was wonderful and one of my favorite parts of Superman.
BUT: I just got a notification that you had posted "A Good Start" from Star Trek: The Motion Picture. But it's gone now. You can't TEASE us like that!
So glad you enjoyed this, Bill...and that you were able to find my arrangement of 'A Good Start' from STTMP!
Do you sell sheet music for this arrangement? It’s excellent!
Thanks! Sheet music 👉 www.brettmitchellconductor.com/sheetmusic
You should try doing the theme from Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 Rear Window.
Yes, such a great score - thanks for the recommendation!
Williams at his most Wagnerian
...and Straussian! ('Luke and Leia' from ROTJ is pretty Wagnerian, too!)
