Steevie Nicks was the best part of Fleetwoodb Mac and coolest thing to do for her was leaving FM, he was such an A ..............e, specially with her !!! Well said Freddy ! And hey Maggie Reneé, you should try the best voice I have heard, Dolores O'Riordan she was the leader of The Cranberries, the song "Promises" official music video (you'll smile a little, but she is very serious, a strong song !!! (Irish poeple, the best singers ... sorry I forgot Layne Staley "Alice in chains" from Seatle, both are dead, RIP).
Her voice is so distinctive that you could always recognize it right a way. Fleetwood Mac is one of my favorites. You should listen to more of them! Thanks for your reaction. You looked a little like you were in heaven!
I think what makes Stevie Nicks sound unique, is that her voice always has a note of heartbreak to it. I think that is why she sings songs of love/loss so well.
It's kinda surreal to have listened for 45 years to one of the greatest bands of my generation with the iconic vocals of Stevie Nicks and then people today know her from a TikTok video. Stevie Nicks was the queen nymph of pop rock. Just as Floor Jansen is the Valkyrie of symphonic metal.
@@steve318k the saddest comments I've ever heard - "This Stevie Fleetwood Mac is SO good, but I don't know who Peter Green is .............. "OH WELL" - Review THAT song's live b&w Brit TV performance
Backing vocal Christine McVie (keyboard)... one of the underrated members of Fleetwood Mac along with accomplished bass player, and husband John McVie. C.McVie actually has a few songs on FM albums where she sings lead.
Like Dolly Parton, Stevie has an unusual vibrato bordering on tremolo. Her tone is slightly nasal here, but not as much as it would be later. She uses her chest voice rather than her diaphragm. In other words, she seems to break every rule of proper, safe singing to have one of the most unique, iconic voices in all of popular music. Her voice is like a wild animal’s: wild and free, but with perfect pitch (nearly) and the ability to harmonize instinctively with practically any duet partner.
And FM’s only #1 hit, which is kind of amazing considering their deep catalog and how iconic this entire album was. If I recall right, Stevie wrote in like an hour.
With or without Fleetwood Mac, Stevie is just amazing. Many can describe her voice better than I can, it's just awesome! Her stage presence is just as impressive. When listening to her or FM, try and get the videos of their performances.

Stevie sings lead on "Gold Dust Woman" my favorite Fleetwood Mac song. I'd love to hear your reaction to her version from her concert in Chicago. The beginning is fantastic.
If you would want to fall in love with the song all over again and hear a cover to it try listening to the Lanie Gardner cover of this song. It's absolutly breathtaking
Rumors was a great album. The concert in 77 in Orlando was great. Kenny Logins started the night. Bob Seagar stole the nigh and rocked the place. Fleetwood was the headliner and were also great.

This song was written in like 20 mins in a little Casio about her break up. You are 💯on the lack of training. She wondered at some point if she should learn and McVie told her she would go back and change everything she ever did, she was better on her journey the way she is ♥️
Then the guy the song was written about would have to get up and play it hundreds of times. In fact most of that album was about her nasty breakup with Lindsey Buckingham.

Maggie Renee', you should do a cover of this? I think you could do it well. Also do some reaction to Christine McVie. She was much much more than just the backing vocals for Fleetwood Mac. Her history with FM dates back to '69 or '70. She did a cover of Etta James "I'd Rather Go Blind" with a group called Chicken Shack. Plus many many more great songs. I think she's one of the most unrecognized , underrated vocals of the past 50 years. It may be all by her choice as well??

As I wrote on The Chain, Dreams is my favorite Fleetwood Mac song. You should think about listening to more of Stevie Nicks' songs with the band - Rhiannon would be awesome. Now to go see if you've ever reacted to Edge of Seventeen by Stevie.when she went solo. (Her voice is one of my all time favorite female voices, along with Pat Benatar, Ann Wilson (of Heart) and Amy Lee of Evanescence.)
NO ONE sounds like Stevie Nicks, NO ONE. I've heard several covers of this song, and they all fall utterly short. Stevie was and is a one of a kind and I doubt there will ever be another like her. Kind of like there will never be another to sound like Ann and Nancy wilson of heart.

You should check out some of the other songs with Stevie like Landslide and Rhiannon and with Christine McVie (she's a mezzo) fronting Little Lies and Everywhere.
An interesting comparison, as it is also a live performance and by the same artists, is the version of Dreams from their 1997 live album, The Dance. Rhiannon is another interesting one for comparison, since every version that gets released seems to have different lyrics. It feels like Stevie Nicks rewrites that one (a few of her songs, actually) from time to time...
Hello again Maggie. Nice reaction video as always. He is using an effect pedal, but not to get the volume swells, for that he is using a volume pedal. Much much easier to use then using the volume knobs, especially on a split pickup guitar that has individual tone and volume controls for each individual pickup. His finger picking on this song doesn’t give a guitar player enough time to get the volume swells using the volume knobs.
Nice reaction, you are good 👊🏻! The album 'Rumours' and the song 'Go your own way' were both number one in my country when I was born. So that's my birth record and birth song 😎 Still a great album after all these years, timeless! What is your birth song/record?😏 Again, check Marillion, a lot of great vocals especially live! 'Gaza' live is a must (long) listen...
I remember seeing Fleetwood Mac live in the late 70s😊 and I had a big crush on Stevie nicks. What a beautiful blondish mane she had.. and a raspy voice that she had and her way was ( Witchy) long flowing gowns. And apparently the whole band screwed each other. I guess it kept them steady because the music is still fire!!😂
Maggie, Stevie's voice really carries the emotions of the songs she is singing. This particular song was about the impending breakup between her and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham. The song is telling Buckingham that he will never find another woman like her once she's gone. "Go Your Own Way" is also about their breakup.
Of course, we all know that many of the "Rumors" album songs were built around the dissolution of Stevie Nicks & Lyndsay Buckingham, the lead guitarist to her left, and keyboardist Christine McVie & bass player John McVie's relationships ending, right?
The Corrs did a cool live cover of it with Mick Fleetwood guesting. Royal Albert Hall about 25 years ago. It's on RUclips, and there's also a studio version that's on the expanded edition of their second album "Talk on Corners."
There were rumors (hence the name of the album) that Stevie Nicks had slept with every member of Fleetwood Mac--- including John and Christy McVie. She openly dated Mick Fleetwood around '77, and of course she was married to Lindsey Buckingham.
Stevie and Lindsey Buckingham were recently separated... The entire album was excellent. Think about it... write a breakup song, and then get your ex to stand on stage and play guitar while you sing it :D
One of my all time faves from them is "I'm So Afraid" Song by Lindsey Buckingham. The performance of the song is from their "The Dance" tour. He is one of the best guitarists out there. Sorry that I have missed some of your reaction, I have to catch up plus I had to take Discord out to free up storage space on my laptop I was running out of space. But it is great to see you doing reactions again. 😴
I meant I would like to hear your reaction to Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood’s “Some Velvet Morning”. Lee Hazelwood was a Korean War Vet, Frank Sinatra had him voice train his daughter Nancy. He wrote many songs for him and Nancy, plus other artists. Funny thing, the object of that song, Vedra, was what his daughter named her daughter. One day it was playing and his granddaughter said to him “ you wrote that song for me before I was born”
Stevie Nicks very well might be my favorite female artist of all time. Many have tried cover's and there are only a few I really love. One is of this actual song by a artist name Lissie. Another is by a artist named Tyler Carter, which he sang a version of another very popular song by Fleetwood Mac called Landslide.
I was always a fan of Fleetwood Mac despite them being soft pop rock when I was into harder stuff. FYI Mick Fleetwood (tall drummer) started the band in the 60s but new members joined in the 70s (Christine McVie (keyboards, some vocals), John McVie (bass guitar) and then Stevie and Lindsey Buckingham (white suit, underrated guitarist). Relationship issues caused great songs but eventual breakup of the band. They reunited for The Dance (1996 DVD, great video performances of the hits). You should watch the love and hate between Stevie and Lindsey in those performances especially in Landslide and Silver Springs. They still do concerts today but with some substitute players. PS: Stevie did solo stuff in the 80s and great collabs with Tom Petty and others. Check out their Stop Dragging My Heart Around.
John McVie joined about a month after the group started. Peter Green, who started the band, wanted him from the start (why it's called Fleetwood Mac, after the rhythm section) but he wasn't ready to leave John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. All 3 were Bluesbreakers together.
You want to hear a 'Dreams' cover, then look no further, than (search on YT): Lanie Gardner - Dreams by Fleetwood Mac (Cover) - it is A-MAY-ZING (obligatory Ocean Spray Cranberry included)
Interested in what you think about Christine McVie's voice. Also, if you could compare Christine's voice to Stevie's. An analysis of Moody Blues would be appreciated too.
He uses a volume pedal. (looks like a "way wah" pedal only regulates the volume) Yes some guitarist uses the volume knob on the guitar with their pinky. Easier on a Stratocaster guitar than this Les Paul. Beautiful song with just 2 chords!
Mick Fleetwood originally only wanted Linsey Buckingham to join the band but Lindsey said that him and Stevie Nicks were a package deal. If they didnt hire Stevie then he wouldnt join the band. Ironically due to some unfortunate events that occured on tour Stevie and Lindsey broke up. Stevie later stated this in an interview.

Lanie Gardner sang this song also. She did a great job! Check it out.
You should watch Landslide live from the Dance.
Lanie Gardner does a great cover of dreams on you tube

Ironically due to some unfortunate events that occured on tour Stevie and Lindsey broke up. Stevie later stated this in an interview.
