I grew that LA confidential and it was almost identical to bubba kush. I grew the chocolope too. At that time I had the best OG kush cuts in ventura, I ran the true OG, PK, master kush, then the bubba for years. . I mostly just grew OG and Bubba. Now I'm trying to get all my old original strains. So hard to get the real deal now
I still have original cuts of L.A. Confidential and L.A. Con. and Martian Mean Green. The only Bubba that I still think is spot on is Seedsman Bubba Kush. (Dinafem Seed stock)
@4SCOOBYSNACKS katsu cut of bubba, pre 98 bubba, so cal bubba, purple bubba) Riot seeds worked with the original cut, so did humboldt csi. I have aquire seeds of bubba from 3 different legit sources.

They had good seeds on attitude years ago. The last packs I got about two years ago had no keepers, n completely different genetics from what I had in the cannabis cup era. Kandy Kush use to be my jam. I heard they replaced their original breeding stock.

Yup same I grew bunch of there strains in 2014 I hunted 4 packs each of OG18, kosher kush and holy grail fire in every pack. Literally kept multiple of each. this past year bought more of them all Absolutely nothing similar at all. They are selling crap genetics as those strains and there not. Huge stain on them for me won't be buying more ever. I don't want tangie garbage!

Haha I just popped some old ass Crockett seeds from the paper sleeve days. I have the strawberry banana sherb and popped a bunch for outdoor. Clementine, 24k, Crocketts dawg, citrus sap, I popped a bunch. I cant even remember all the different strains off the top of my head. But I'm searching for some winners!
@DarylDawkins wildly mediocre. Haven't found anything worth keeping from over 120 seeds popped. I'm pretty picky. There is many other much better seeds I have ran since.

I feel like these dudes are trying to base their strategy around bringing back the Nokia flip phone. It was really cool back in the day and the mere image of it brings back fond moments of nostalgia but the young kids/consumers are bored with it or simply don't find it attractive. Are we in a "purple dessert phase" or have we come to the conclusion that it is superior in looks, taste, and often times THC percentages than the "legendary strains"? The old heads might claim that Skunk weed tastes better but I personally would rather smoke something that tastes like candy or some other type of dessert. Nostalgia of the good times might just be DNAs downfall.
On the real.... if you're saying that from the heart... you've surely never had the experience of pre 2000's... weed today is just not the same . Its watered down.... you don't get that sticky icky resin no more !! When you do it just doesn't have the tack lick it had .. the high is weak and does not last longer than an hour at most. This is why you see the concentrate market explode... we can get high again 😂😂😂 but even then the highs don't last like they did... ✌🏽💜

If you look for the right chemovar it's crazy how high the ceiling is on a lot of these strains. I thought the old heads were trading in nostalgia but then I grew triangle kush (og type) and you can't build a tolerance to it and the flavor is a mouth coating tongue splasher. I've held it for almost three years now.
