Good one. Going to need to watch again. Tried the UVB with my LEDs, but I'd add that the IR component is equally important. All these purple stems from tons of light and a metabolism that can't keep up. I've been trying everything from my gear graveyard, just ran the 4200 CMH and it was incredible out of the gate, so oily in week 3, sticky grease like I hadn't seen in so long, but I had some unforced errors in the new setup. I may have done things differently on the back half, the outcome wasn't what it promised, but I saw things I hadn't seen in 6 years of LED only, even with UVB supplements. I ran high temps both sealed and exhausted, but high temps aren't the same as IR radiation, that warm feeling you get standing in a puddle of sunlight. You'd be hard pressed to find new vertical CMH fixtures now and the footprint of the horizontal 315s is just a stripe of hotspot 4-6" wide. Next up is MH, full cycle, though my first impression is that you may want something different for ripening. I'm surprised I never tried it back in the day. Know anyone using the Sun on Demand? I would need a 90-120 day demo before throwing down on those. I haven't seen any used ones for sale, which is good.
