My daughter and I live in East Memphis. I moved up here a year and half ago to be with my daughter.
I came from Ft Myers FL. I'd much rather live here. Glad I finally got a chance to move.
    I love it here.

I used to live in East Memphis, a few years ago when rent was cheaper, but rent doubled when the apartments were brought out by new landlords, so I packed up and moved to Castalia. East Memphis is a decent area, it's just out of my budget now. I can afford it, but I'd rather save the money to start another business.

What is crazy is when I first moved to Memphis, I lived close to this area. When rent started to go up, I packed up and moved to Castalia. Whole different environment lol, but my wallet love it. I don't worry about crime, because I dress like a greasy mechanic, and no one dare to mess with my busted Toyota Camry lol. So as long as I keep my 25 in my coat, I'm fine, and saving cash 💰💰

He didn’t drive in no rich neighborhoods, I m wondering was there a guy in a hoodie in the parting lot where he was eating lunch. It’s sound like stereo type to me . There are many crimes committed without wearing a HODDIE . Many people wear a hoodie to keep warm! Memphis isn’t a Ghost Town , Yes it’s Bad Crime and Killing in Memphis . BUT NOT ALL OF MEMPHIS CITIES ARE BAD .. THERE ARE QUIT CITIES,,,, As a viewer said: if we are living in Memphis or from Memphis : We pretty much know how to move , Pray: stay on the look out:, mind our own business , I m adding if possible if it don’t sound right or look right where ever we are in Memphis, We know how to Move !!!!!!! I wanna move, what should I do?". Instead of being negative about the town by saying " yup I agree get out it sucks", you don't. You give a positive realistic suggestion. Like " try a suburb outside of the area" and " alot of cities are having problems right now like St Louis, not just Memphis, but you can still enjoy living in those places without living in fear, just be really careful ". I live in Germantown. I have never experienced a crime in my neighborhood in 18 years. And Memphis is a great place it is all about the area in which u live in. All states are about the same they have good and bad areas. I am originally from Mississippi. Mississippi was way too rural for me and racist. It is so sad that you are so negative and lying about the place in which great people live. I have never been afraid to live here. I am sure u never lived in Memphis. There are not shootings everywhere. We walk at night through the neighborhood unafraid. Most areas are safe. I use to live in East Memphis and the Oakhaven area. I had no problems in these area either. North Memphis, South Memphis and Hickory Hill have more crime than usual. But Collierville, Barlett and Germantown crime rates are very low at 13%. No place is safe as long as there are impoverished people. But lying about a place you know nothing about is sad. Everybody has an opinion but we should only base things on our own personal experiences not other people's biases.
