    Have you seen error prompts in your FamilySearch Memories Gallery?

    Thanks for the heads up. I have been working to get all my media tagged. I need to make sure everything else is there. I sure hope my audio files are there. They were challenging to break into the time limit amount and upload.

    Fortunately, I did not lose any memories. I've only been doing genealogy seriously for a few years.

      @@FamilyHistoryFanatics I did check them. None of mine were corrupted.

    Similar to the way I felt when Ancestry changed to a new format and ALL of my personal Notes were lost.

      I’m glad that I made hard copies of everything. But, if my house burns down, they are lost.

      Oh, I'm so sorry about the loss of your notes.

      @@FamilyHistoryFanatics Since that time I have probably found the original documents and then some. Some of the Notes were from information given to me by a researcher in Italy and they were simply marriage and birth records and they would have the basic information. Since that time I have found most (if not all) of the original documents and done transcriptions of the entire document -- not merely short genealogical notes. But at first yes it was kind of a bummer because I knew practically nothing about my Italian ancestry and had not learned to read documents in Italian or Latin. Which I've read tons of documents like that by now. So it was not a total lost cause altogether.

    I don't load anything to the internet without having my own copy, and several backups. Makes absolutely no sense to count on someone else to store your personal information. This will happen again and be worse in the future.

    How many of you have folks that call you with 'tech support' genealogy questions like i get?

    • @whychromosomesmusic5766
      @whychromosomesmusic5766 11 месяцев назад

      I get requests for research. I don't get requests for tech support necessarily. Although I have made comments online about some of my techniques such as how to find something in microfilms and how those are arranged especially when they are not necessarily in order. And I have received responses thanking me for the information. I'm not sure if that is what you mean by "tech support."
