    Exactly what I want. Without music and talk. Just a noise from the ride. Thanks! ))

    I married someone from Colorado 35 years ago after I got out of USN. We moved there then. Ofcourse Colorado changed alot since then. It really saddens me to see how much this drive has changed. The first place I took my 3 kids growing up camping was at Timbercreek campground. The beatle kill has really taken its toll here! I have pictures of this campground missing 1000's of trees from just that sight! But it's still beautiful there and things change.
    Thanks for this drive, I made it 100s of times! It brings back some great times. I moved to Waikiki 5 years ago. Sure the beach and weather is nice. I have 3 kids still in Colorado and grandkids. I always look forward to back home!!! When I retire, I will be back! Mahalo for the memories!

    Great video. It captures the drive perfectly, and took my back to my vacation in Granby, when we drove over a few times.

    This drive up Trail Ridge Road is not for the faint of heart. Many people turn around and go back down before reaching the Alpine Visitors Center.

    Thanks for posting. There was still snow lining this road when we last drove it in June of 2014. From what point on the road do you start?

      John Edwards Thanks John, I started the video at Fall River Road and headed West. I'd really like to do a video driving Old Fall River Rd., but it was closed down due to the terrible floods that happened in Summer '13. That gives me a really good excuse to return to this paradise really soon!

    Hey! I'm a singer songwriter from the uk. I've just finished recording my debut e.p. I was wondering if I could use some of this footage for a lyric video?
    Absolutely stunning scenery.
    Regards,
    Oliver

    Why are there tall sticks on edge of the road is that so people don't drive off the edge/off the mountain?

    • @VinKohl
      @VinKohl  5 лет назад

      kingcalafia Those are guides so the snow plow drivers can see where the edge of the road is, the drifts can get very high. A large portion of the road is actually shut down during the heaviest Winter months.

    I'm a good driver, but I can't drive to safe my life on high roads, particularly when I can see the cliff edge and I haven't been there before. I find it difficult to negotiate with my fear driving too close to edge. What should I do?

      I used to be the same way, almost paralyzed by fear. All I can say is exposure and practice. It took years of road trips before I was brave enough to be behind the wheel while we were in mountain terrain. Just breathe and go at a pace that’s comfortable for you (the National Parks are great practice because the speed limit is usually about 30mph, nice and slow and lots of places to pull off if you need a break). Good luck to you! 🙂
