- USA's Most Visited National Park! - Great Smoky Mountains National Park - Tennessee & North Carolina
Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a United States National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site that straddles the ridgeline of the Great Smoky Mountains, part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which are a division of the larger Appalachian Mountain chain. The border between Tennessee and North Carolina runs northeast to southwest through the centerline of the park. It is the most visited national park in the United States.
Attractions and Activities
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a major tourist attraction in the region. Over 9 million tourists and 11 million non-recreational visitors traveled to the park in 2010, more than twice as many visitors as the Grand Canyon, the second most visited national park.[15] Surrounding towns, notably Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Townsend, Tennessee, and Cherokee, Sylva, Maggie Valley, and Bryson City, North Carolina receive a significant portion of their income from tourism associated with the park.
The two main visitors' centers inside the park are Sugarlands Visitors' Center near the Gatlinburg entrance to the park and Oconaluftee Visitor Center near Cherokee, North Carolina at the eastern entrance to the park. These ranger stations provide exhibits on wildlife, geology, and the history of the park. They also sell books, maps, and souvenirs. Unlike most other national parks, there is no entry fee to the park.
The park has a number of historical attractions. The most well-preserved of these (and most popular) is Cades Cove, a valley with a number of preserved historic buildings including log cabins, barns, and churches. Cades Cove is the single most frequented destination in the national park. Self-guided automobile and bicycle tours offer the many sightseers a glimpse into the way of life of old-time southern Appalachia. Other historical areas within the park include Roaring Fork, Cataloochee, Elkmont, and the Mountain Farm Museum and Mingus Mill at Oconaluftee.

My wife & I have driven this road many, many times over the past 30 years or so. And never tire of seeing these videos. A few of our most frequented sites in the park are Cades Cove, the Newfound Gap monument, Clingmans Dome observation tower, and the town of Cherokee North Carolina.
That area of the country really is a incredible place. Enjoy visiting it every time!

My family went in the 70s, I was about 7 yo, it was very scary, we went in a Chevy van, it lost its brakes on the way down, at night,.my dad and older brother had to bang on something under the hood, which is inside the car to make the brakes work, we were on edge's pulled over alot looking straight down the cliff, we were all crying, the young kids, there were several of us, we had our cats and dogs with us to, finally we were able to get to the bottom , we got brakes fixed,. I was very scared we were going to go over, but my brother and dad were my hero.

i just went! It is so beautiful
How did you record this? With a dashcam? If so, what make/model do you have? We're going there in October & are looking into getting a dashcam for the trip.
My wife and I will be visiting Gatlinburg and the Smokies in about 4 weeks.
Love the video. Is J Utah for "Johnny Utah"?
I’m from Central Asia and me and my family spender this weekend there. It was awesome. I’ve the video of hiking in my channel.
great views
+Robin Lori Agreed. Stunning in person and video. Thanks for sharing!
So I have to ask. I am a Floridian so maybe the highest hill I have is walking up my driveway. I am going to Wisconsin on Friday from Florida and will be passing the smokys and a few other mountains. How is it driving on those? Does it go really high like cliff side and become scary or is it nice an smooth like this video? Don't be afraid to lay it on me an say I'm in for a hell of a ride. I just wanna know what to expect
What dash cam are you using?
May i suggest something from your next video onwards can you show your instantaneous speed? Please
What a beautiful place! Where is this?
gatlinburg
This video is before the fire on a smoky mountain. Things have changed after the fire. It's still beautiful but not the same.

Is this Newfound Gap Road?
This must have been taped at the crack of dawn. Empty streets and stores still locked down.
Correct - Maybe before 10? Thanks for commenting!
We visited Smoky Mountains National Park! Yep, drove through it in our car while filming out the front windshield.
+Dhujdic Let me know if you post it :)
+J Utah Will do, I also have a great video of a couple of years at Yosemite... I do need to get them uploaded though... 8-)
+Dhujdic Definitely!
when was this recorded? when exactly in autumn? end of september or october?

balex1109 Third weekend of October and thanks for sharing :) Its a spectacular area. Greetings from USA :D
"The park usually experiences an autumn leaf season of several weeks as fall colors travel down the mountain sides from high elevation to low. However, the timing of fall color change depends upon so many variables that the exact dates of "peak" season are impossible to predict in advance."
www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisit/fallcolor.htm
I've been there.
it great but the video quality should be improve!
What town?
Great video! question, are you entering the park from the North or South. What town is that at the begging? This one is on my list for 2019. My family and I are currently on 25 parks with 7 scheduled for this year alone. Ill be hitting the east in 2019. Check out my National park videos on my channel.Nice camera! takes good smooth video. I usually use a Sony action cam, a new Sony handy cam i just got, Go-pro, among others. Good job..Wow..thats alot of veiws!
+Robert Ward They are entering through the North side of the park. The town in the beginning is Gatlinburg Tn. One of my favorite vacation spots. You will not be disappointed, so much to do in and around Gatlinburg. Be sure to check out Cades Cove as well.
Thank you! We will be going in the summer of 2018, and also seeing Hot Springs NP, Mammoth cave NP, Congaree NP, Shanendoah NP and Cuyahoga valley NP....Our big east coast swing.
Makes me feel good about not going to the Smokeys again. I've been there many times and it's beautiful but way to crowded
You should have seen it before the interstate system was in place.

where is it
I thought America's most visited national park was Yosemite..
About two months before my wife passed away, while we were on our way to one of her treatments, she asked me what I was going to do with her ashes. Then she added that she just wanted to know if I wanted a place to go visit her and leave flowers, keep them in an urn so I could talk to her, or scatter them somewhere meaningful to me and our son. I’ve never been very ceremonial. Well Lived is a true blessing . They handled the whole ceremony perfect . It was meaningful to me to revisit some of the special places that we had been to together. We used to spend our summers traveling to some of the National Parks we wanted to hike. So to return to those places were both meaningful for me and fun. welllived.com/collections/destinations
some narration would have been nice. if i hadnt known the title of this i wouldnt know where you are
Folkgreen
Must be edited , how the hell it go from cloudy to sunny 🤦🏾♂️😂
No narration no explanation of places 👎

cannot enjoy watching your video, to many commercials every few minutes, I quit watching.
Sorry to hear that! Ads are the only support I use for this channel. Ad rates are improving as far as I know so hopefully one day, RUclips content will receive a small portion of what television ads pay so less ads can be used. Thanks for the feedback anyway! :)
this is nothing compared to Yosemite national park in California!!
everything in the pnw is better than yosemite. yosemite is dying.
I have been to several national parks.. Smoky Mtns is much better than Yosemite
California was in a pretty severe drought. There was a lot of dying trees in yosemite. LA has basically turned brown. NoCal just got a bit of rain from El nino. Hopefully the drought is over up there.
droughtmonitor.unl.edu/Home/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx?CA
Drought is over bro.
You're very rude Skyethur! This is a video about TN not CA! Nobody was asking for a comparison from you or anyone else. This person worked hard on this video and all you can say is THAT? Nasty little troll!
Thank you !
